For those on Induction

  • Believe me, I was one of the biggest doubters of this entire WOE until today. I have been on Induction for nearly three weeks. The first 2 weeks I lost a grand total of 4 lbs and then gained 2 back. I took the advice (wish I could give credit but I don't remember who they were!) and took my measurements.

I am soooo glad I did because that is the ONLY place I was seeing results. Even my clothes never fit better because I buy them big to begin with. I use the Ketostixs and I was always in ketosis, everyday. Frustrated does not begin to vent my frustrations.

I wasn't about to give up but I wanted to see results darn it!

I posted about my problems, asked for suggestions and got them. One thing they all had in common was "keep doing what I'm doing and wait it out."

I am hear to say that is the best advice ever given.

As of today, nearly three weeks later, my body has finally given up the fight to hold onto everything "just in case". I have lost 10lbs and 5". I lost nearly half of my weight over 2 days. My body has finally gotten the hint that I'm no longer going to starve it, feed it bad food and that excercise is really good for it.

So, hang in there everyone. It does pay off. I'm glad I stuck to it. This does work, but sometimes after years of abuse and damage done by other diets and poor eating habits, our bodies may not be convenced that what we are doing is actually good for it - for a change!

    Keep it up.

  • Yeah Tam!!!!

You are seeing great results!! The longer you do low carb, the more you will stick to it because you feel great doing it. If you slip off and go back to old ways, you will notice a HUGE difference in the way you feel physically and mentally.

And, you will continue to lose weight, slowly but surely. Keep measuring, and have a good time. You are doing great!!!!!
  • Congratulations Tam!! Your doing a great job!!

    Do the happy dance

  • WAY TO GO, TAM!! That's great news and SO inspiring. I've been on Induction for two weeks today and I'm afraid to get on the scale. This isn't my first time on Atkins and I know it can work but for the past few years, due to medications and advancing age I find it harder and harder to get into ketosis. Even with less that 20 grams of carbs a day I'm lucky to get the test stick to turn the palest purple shade. So, even though clothes that had started to feel tighter due to my Xmas weight gain are starting to feel more comfortable, I'm still scared to weigh myself. This Friday will be my moment of truth though. I will be taking measurements then too so wish me luck.
  • Thank You Tam!
I really needed to read this post today. After my two week induction period I only lost 5 pounds. Went home and did measurements last night and ... NOTHING! I am feeling very frustrated and confused about what to do next.

It is nice to know that if I stick to it, there is a chance that my body will eventually "give it up"!
