The 6th Day of Christmas. I forget what I'm going to get today but there will be six of them - swans?
Went to Ottawa yesterday and had lunch with son, DIL and Grand daughter Tayler who is absolutely adorable. We did the gift exchange and Harry and I now have "a conversation piece" - a wooden gas pump that opens to reveal shelves. I have no idea where I will put it - maybe make a drive through loop out front and sell gas? Actually it's very cool and will find a spot in the back room, I'm sure. Wendy served fajitas instead of the usual lasagna and cheesecake so eating was just fine.
Today is our 19th anniversary and we've yet to decide how to celebrate. We may go out to dinner. The nearest decent place is a half hour away so it will depend on the weather. I'm not keen on driving in the dark especially after I may have "drink taken". We will probably end up staying home and having rack of lamb or something else extravagant.
Gail arrives shortly so I'm off to do a minor Fly Lady. Catch you later.
On my last cup of coffee - but there's some left in the pot - refills anyone?
HAPPY ANNIVERSARY RUTHIE & HARRY !!!
I hope you have a wonderful day together! Wow, 19 years! May you be blessed with another 19!
I've been awake since 2:30. My puppies are getting much better but still healing. The right one is just about done but the left one (which was the worse) is causing me a bit of pain. The wound care doc says the pain I'm feeling is the nerve endings healing and skin connecting. I know it's worth the discomfort but it wakes me up during the night!
Managed to do much needed flylady stuff over the weekend while all the boys (big & small) were gone. Of course they all hit at once yesterday afternoon and I was threatening them with mops and buckets to redo the floors if they didn't remove their dirty boots before entering! Oh well, guess it might last one more day clean as it's going to rain today and that means my entry/kitchen floors will look like mud before the end of the day. Five more loads of laundry and attacking the boys room. I've been on strike from cleaning it but it's starting to smell like a high school locker room. Hey DebKay, can you relate?
Pooky~thoughts are with you for the quick safe return of Rosie. And a prayer of thanks that your family was not more seriously hurt!
Sue ~ hope you enjoyed your birthday!
Welcome to all the newbies! Looking forward to getting to know you all!
I think it's time to call out the Christmas De-decorating patrol! Anyone seen Chickadee? She's definately the head up!!
Hey Chickadee, if you're out there lurking I recall reading someone's post last week that she may be added hearts to her treee in preparation of valentine's day!
Ok, time for another load of wash to go in! Be back later!
ON my third cup of coffee and happily at work, other than getting my carcass out of bed I love Mondays..its like a new start every week!!!!
Pooky - please keep us updated on Rosie - my dogs disappeared last year for 3 days - someone found them and I ran an ad in the paper and he called me!!! Don't give up hope!!!!
Ruth - Congrats on 19 years, I am trying to imagine 19 years, I can't seem to get a clear visual on that!!!!
Had hubby's granddaughter over last night to have a sleep over with my daughter. It was loads of girl stuff, giggling and what seemed like a very good time. They got to sleep finally at around 11, and managed to stay asleep until about 8 this morning....so, not to bad at all. Right now they are playing with the new LeapPad my daughter got for christmas. Im really glad she likes it, I was afraid I would be tossing 40$ out the window!
Toast for breakfast for the girls.....so far just coffee for me. I'll pull out the eggs later.
We decided to start closing on Mondays at the store. The entire street is pretty much closed on Sun & Mon......and there is little to no traffic. So, for the next couple months we will have 2 days off Until the weather starts to warm up a bit and we get more foot traffic.
I didnt get my tree taken down yesterday, usually Ive got it down the very next day, if not christmas night. But Im enjoying the christmas lights on it. I like the hanging hearts idea....maybe I can find just red lights?
Well, its off to get the girls dressed and brushed .....have a good day everyone
Robin
Happy Anniversary Ruth, hope you and Harry have a lovely night together!
Well, here's the Rosie MIA update: still no sign of her--I have called the local vet clinic where it seems most folks in the area call if they have a missing pooch. I called the dog catcher and I called the SPCA in two big towns that circle the area. I also called the local radio station and asked them to put it on the air hoping that someone will hear it and call in.
Emotionally, the humans are not doing too well. Fitful sleep for me and Miree has been crying for her Rosie Posie--what to do?? Dh has his own issues, dealing with two upset girls and now digging out the car from the snowbank at the end of the driveway where I slid into it. When it rains it pours.....
Janice, glad to hear the puppies are returning to normal and as for Christmas de-decorating, the tree was completely dried out by Boxing Day so when we came back after Christmas down it came--too much of a fire hazard, know what I mean?
Rachel, enjoy your day at work, I wish I was working instead of stressing myself out at home worrying.
Sorry I missed you all willy nilly this holiday season, I've been in and out of the house and whenever I'm here I am sure to stop in. The diet thing is just not happening, I know I have gained 5 pounds and I'm not even going to get on the scale to prove it to myself. Although I would have to say within the last 24 hours I haven't eaten a whole heck of a lot so maybe some water came out??
I'll check in later and let you all know what's up, OK?
Happy thoughts going out to those that need them today. Happy anniversary Ruth and hubby.
I am reading the SS book, wow, it seems too good to be true. I like the fact that you can have some fruit. I had my first apple in eight weeks. It was sooooo good.
Can anyone tell me why they would go from this program to Atkins? Apart from the coffee!
Robin-I was reading your thread and I see you have a lot to be motivated about. How much have you lost[am I allowed to ask this] and how long has it taken you?
Well it is Monday and I have the day off so I have to take a hour and bless my house, love the flylady site.
I'll be back soon, love Tazcat.
Told hubby about the motivation thread I posted, and when he asked me what motivated me, I mentioned the rocking chair, and started to cry. I am very lucky to have someone as supportive as him in my life!
Good Monday, all! Not too bad at work today, had time to sneak home for lunch. Yummy, much better than take out salad. Roast from yesterday, somehow tastes better the second day.
Hope all of you have a great day. Pooky, I want to hug you! You're having a rough time right now, but I know the pup will come home. Happy anniversary, Ruth and Harry! Janice, glad you're healing, sorry it hurts before it gets better, doesn't that stink??? Anyone I missed, sorry, CRAFT setting in. Talk to everyone later!!
Belated anniversary greetings to Ruth and Harry. Hope you have a lovely evening.
Pooky, so sorry your pooch is still missing. That's really hard on the family. I think I bawled for three days non-stop.
J, I'm sorry you're still having pain from your surgery. It just doesn't seem fair.
Not much going on here. I have managed to stay OP so far today (it's about 4:30) but I don't know how I'll manage the evening. Last night, in spite of talking sternly to myself, I opened up a huge tin of lovely chocolate dipped cookies given to us at Xmas. They are calling my name but I'm doing my best to resist. I should have just relabelled them and given them to a thin person.
Does anybody else get heartburn from salmon? Gosh, I'm really suffering from the wee bit I had at lunchtime. Guess I'll have to pop a Tums. Good thing I stocked up on them before the hols.
