morning all!

not much going on here, but I wanted to say hi! I'm sticking close to home to get some clean up finished and prep for the work week. A trip to the grocery store is in order for sure1

christmas was nice, very quiet and somewhat interrupted by heavy snow here in the early evening. My BIL got called in to work, and DM and husband left early to avoid the icy roads, so it ended up just a few of us playing and finishing up the pie! My SIL is holding on pretty steady, but home in bed. We are spending a lot of time just hanging out over there, and trying to include her in everything.

so, today is for groceries, cooking for the week, and some laudry to finish, but not much. I got a couple of books for Christmas, so that's my fun for later!

have a great day,

dottie

Good Morning Dottie, and all to come

Its a quiet day here too. First Sunday off in a while, and I plan to enjoy it.

We will probably take down the christmas tree, and all the decorations today.....do a bit of clean up, head to starbucks for our "lattes" (a sunday thing) and relax.

Hope everyone has a good day

Default GOOD MORNING!!!

oops. sorry. was that too loud?

everyone is gone. it sure seems empty without the kids. the grownups were better than usual this year. they actually were of some use, instead of sitting around being waited on! they cleaned up the basement and picked up after themselves and even did some of the bed linens!! and scrubbed out the refrigerator.

of course, i just came up from the laundry room and found that someone had piled a wet sheet and tablecloth over a stool and dragging on the cement floor, so both had to be washed again, but at least it was SOMETHING.

sure wish we all lived closer together. oh well... it's enough to know that you're all out there.

so, today is refrig patrol [to throw out the stuff i KNOW we won't eat this week; what's the sense of watching it turn into science fair projects only to throw it out anyway???] it's a horrendous waste, i know, but i've accepted it as a way of life around here.

and then a trip to the grocery store to get the things that we'll actually eat. and it looks like 3 loads of laundry. mom has a manicure this afternoon, and there are a few errands. i love the socks peachie bought me so much that i want to get a couple more pairs.

it's been really wonderful reading about your holidays this week. and lindabc.. i DO understand that you can't come to joisy. and i EVEN understand why. but i AM disappointed. don't worry. i won't sulk or anything. but i DO wish you could join us.

and the same goes for anyone else who can't make it for whatever reason. we'll miss you, though.

oh by the way. there was a christmas/newyear's special at one of the local hotels for members of the health club i joined. 69 bucks a night... now, they said that it didn't apply to groups, and members could only get one discount, but at least it's an encouraging ballpark number!

gotta go... laundry is bellowing. have a great day, ya'll.

love you all

we'll investigate more.

So I am bawling my eyes out here because we LOST Rosie!!! We were at my uncle's house visiting and the pup was outside and when we went to get her she had taken off! We have no idea where she went to. We called and called, my voice is hoarse and we drove around looking for her and calling her name and no sign of her. So here I am at home crying and waiting for my uncle to call me. We called the SPCA and listed her so if anyone brings her in they can call us. I am just beside myself with worry. Miree keeps asking for her puppy and in a bid to reassure herslef she keeps saying Uncle Gary will find her...o my God what am I going to say to her if they can't find her? They live out in the country--few houses, lots of bush!

This on the heels of what started out to be a wonderful day yesterday but ended up so terribly. My family Christmas Party went off without a hitch and was well enjoyed by everyone. By the time we had to pack up the car and leave my gran's house, my cousin's daughter comes running down the road screaming that her mom has run off the road and into the ditch! Her 9 year old brother has a broken nose and basically the three of them were inconsolable. I rushed them to the ER to be checked out--4 hours later we walked out with the boy needing an ear nose and throat specialist in a day or two and the two ladies a good night's rest and some food. Oh so easily it could have been worse--found out later that both kids didn't put on their seatbelts! My cousin was just appalled and scared and angry all at one time, after all she always tells her kids to buckle up and they just didn't do it. Needless to say, I never saw 2 seatbelts get on faster when we left the hospital. We dropped the kids off and my cousin and I headed over to the police station to give a statement and all. I didn't even get to bed until 2am and with blood stains on my silver blouse. Only to have my dog go missing in just a few hours!

Been a really draining last 24 hours so I'm going to bed and try not to think of it all....

Pooky-I know Rosie will be found,
See it, believe it, and say it out loud.
