Pooky good luck your first night on the job. We want to hear all about it tomorrow.
Ageoldie when I feel overwhelmed by clutter I bring a cardboard box and a garbage bag into each room (just one room at a time), put stuff headed for the trash in the garbage bag and stuff that has to be put away somewhere into the box. I'd start at one side of the room and work my way around, dusting as I went. Don't let yourself get sidetracked into other tasks. Just pick up junk and dust. Before you know it, a room will be clutter-free and ready to vacuum. Now, if I can just get myself inspired to do this......
Robin glad you're feeling a bit better. I hope your business picks up. You've worked so hard, you deserve success.
Ruthie I don't know about putting beef stock on your sore wrist for Lucy to lick...unless you want to lose the whole hand...

BTW, where did you find the sofa cover? I sent away for a slipcover catalogue but I didn't care for any of them considering the prices being charged. I'm seriously considering making slipcovers for my family room sofa and loveseat just for a change.
Dottie I'm so sorry about your friend's failing health. It's so hard to know what to say or do to help. I'll pray that she doesn't suffer and that you and her family have the strength to see her through this terrible time.
Today I made a run to the Army & Navy (a discount store in Canada) because their flyer advertised feather beds on sale. Well, they truly did mean feather beds....the kind you sleep on top of, not comforters. I decided to get one anyway. My hubby is from Germany and has always said he missed the feather beds and I've been told that sleeping on top of feathers is good for various aches and pains, of which we have a few. I also got him a new feather pillow. Anyhow, I'm thinking I should put a cover over this feather bed because men seem to sweat so much (he sweats like an old plow horse when he sleeps but he's always complaining of being chilly...go figure) and who wants to try to wash one of these things. I have a duvet cover so I think I'll put that over the mattress with the feather bed inside of it and then use these garter-style thingies that are presently on my mattress pad to hold it to the mattress. That should work, right? Then a sheet on top of that? It was only $89 for a queen size so I think I got a good deal. I hope he appreciates it.
I also bought a Christmas tablecloth for the round table in our family room where we usually eat. I thought it was vinyl but it's cloth so now I have to find some festive placemats to put on it because we are such sloppy eaters. If it's not one thing it's another.
Meanwhile the rain continues to pour down and it's quite warm for December. Not Christmassy at all but trust me, we don't want snow here. These west coast folks haven't a clue how to drive in the white stuff and just a skiff of snow causes total mayhem on the highways.
