I love starting the daily, it means I am home instead of work! I can't get here much these days, but I read and get caught up on the weekends!

I am off to do some errands and shopping and wrapping and good stuff like that! I am trying to get my cleaning and as much stuff done today as possible, and then have the weekend to play! So today is vacuming, make chili for me and baked ziti and oatmeal cookies for DH. I really want all the Christmas stuff out of the way today, too.

We went to the 3rd Grade Holiday concert last night- so sweet, even DH melted when they starting singing. Those little faces so eager and happy. It was great. My neice was beautiful. They also had a 3rd grade Orchestra, they were so adorable! Most of these kids(8 years old) have only been taking an instrument since September, and they put together the cutest(if not technically perfect ) musical performance. But they brought the house down. (mostly grandparents and parents and aunts and uncles!)

I could use some prayers for my SIL(my sister's husband's sister). She is at the end stage of ovarian cancer and we will be going through a rough time in the next month or two. I will start a separate thread, but I don't want to say there how close to the end she is. But I will print it for her, she will get comfort from this. She is a believing Catholic, and prayers will be soothing to her. Thanks you guys, I know the power of chickie prayers!
She needs all the angels on her side.

Well, off to the showers! Then a big LC omelette and some Chrismas music and let the Flylady begin!

love, dottie

Good morning, Chickies. Slept until 8 this morning so am getting a late start. (DH was really worried - thought I was sick with the Norwalk virus!)

Dotti, I love children's concerts! The village school has theirs next week - it is funny and touching at the same time. Yes, in Delta we still do Nativity Plays in the schools. The PC rules don't seem to have filtered out to the boonies!

Getting the stitches out yesterday went OK - there were 26 of them and they all stung. However, the nurse was a real person and we babbled on about Christmas stuff as a distraction. Now I move to the next stage of healing! The surgeon told me that the pain in my right wrist is from skin nerves regenerating and to just rub the area to desensitize it. I may paint it with beef stock and let Lucy lick it! I will be so darn glad when this is over - maybe by greenhouse time in March?

I finally found a cover for my sofa that was reupholstered due to Miss Lucy's deciding it was edible. Harry taught Lucy to sleep on the couch while I was out West and refuses to break her of that habit. So I will cover the sofa and just haul off the cover for company, I guess. However, I do like the slipcover too - thank you, Martha Stewart! It's patterned in warm colours which will be nice for the winter. I'll get Gail to help me put it on when she comes on Monday.

Harry is off to bottle wine today. He set out the other day and ended up with a flat. He couldn't find the darn jack but a "lad" stopped and helped him out. He was so PO'd he just came home!
While he's gone today, I'll do some more wrapping, make him a pizza for lunch and maybe even do some outside "fall" tidying of plant pots and stuff as it is above freezing today.

Off I go!

Happy TGIF!

Good Morning Ladies

Not alot happening around here...which is a good thing We are about to head off to the store. Hopefully it will be a bit busier this weekend that is has been. Our stock has dwindled down, and we are waiting for the reps to come by with the new spring summer stuff!

I spent most of the afternoon and early evening in bed yesterday. Im not feeling as bad today, as I did yesterday. But I will take it easy. Might sneak home again today, and rest for a bit.

I think I'll venture out today, and see if I can find some realy holly and mistletoe for my decorating date with my daughter

Have a great op day ladies

Does the flylady have a 911 number? Or better yet make house calls? I just realized I don't know how to clean house. I'm was trying to get things "pretttied up" for the "parties" at the house this weekend an I ended up making a biger mess that I started with!!! I think it's a rule that whenever I'm having sometehing at the house it falls on the week the cleaning people DON"T come, and alas th6t's the case this time!

Well I have to get busy here at work, so I'll try to stop by tonight, but whit the house like it is I can't promise!

Just a quick one today, feeling really lousy, my head hurts and my shoulder is stiff. Tonight I start my first shift at work so I will be asleep late this afternoon until about 11.

Hope you all have a good weekend!

Pooky good luck your first night on the job. We want to hear all about it tomorrow.

Ageoldie when I feel overwhelmed by clutter I bring a cardboard box and a garbage bag into each room (just one room at a time), put stuff headed for the trash in the garbage bag and stuff that has to be put away somewhere into the box. I'd start at one side of the room and work my way around, dusting as I went. Don't let yourself get sidetracked into other tasks. Just pick up junk and dust. Before you know it, a room will be clutter-free and ready to vacuum. Now, if I can just get myself inspired to do this......

Robin glad you're feeling a bit better. I hope your business picks up. You've worked so hard, you deserve success.

Ruthie I don't know about putting beef stock on your sore wrist for Lucy to lick...unless you want to lose the whole hand... BTW, where did you find the sofa cover? I sent away for a slipcover catalogue but I didn't care for any of them considering the prices being charged. I'm seriously considering making slipcovers for my family room sofa and loveseat just for a change.
Dottie I'm so sorry about your friend's failing health. It's so hard to know what to say or do to help. I'll pray that she doesn't suffer and that you and her family have the strength to see her through this terrible time.

Today I made a run to the Army & Navy (a discount store in Canada) because their flyer advertised feather beds on sale. Well, they truly did mean feather beds....the kind you sleep on top of, not comforters. I decided to get one anyway. My hubby is from Germany and has always said he missed the feather beds and I've been told that sleeping on top of feathers is good for various aches and pains, of which we have a few. I also got him a new feather pillow. Anyhow, I'm thinking I should put a cover over this feather bed because men seem to sweat so much (he sweats like an old plow horse when he sleeps but he's always complaining of being chilly...go figure) and who wants to try to wash one of these things. I have a duvet cover so I think I'll put that over the mattress with the feather bed inside of it and then use these garter-style thingies that are presently on my mattress pad to hold it to the mattress. That should work, right? Then a sheet on top of that? It was only $89 for a queen size so I think I got a good deal. I hope he appreciates it.
I also bought a Christmas tablecloth for the round table in our family room where we usually eat. I thought it was vinyl but it's cloth so now I have to find some festive placemats to put on it because we are such sloppy eaters. If it's not one thing it's another.
Meanwhile the rain continues to pour down and it's quite warm for December. Not Christmassy at all but trust me, we don't want snow here. These west coast folks haven't a clue how to drive in the white stuff and just a skiff of snow causes total mayhem on the highways.
