Good morning ChicKs, second time I did this, lost the first,.
Went to tops last night, I only lost 1.5 lbs., I think I know why, I HAVE BEEN DRINKING TOO MUCH CRYSTAL LIGHT,.
Well i have to get ready to go, it is 5:50, -10, cold.
Praying that our paths that we journey on today be a rewarding one,
Love Tazcat.
Taz don't look at it as only a 1.5 loss........it's a loss.......it's 1.5 less than last week.
Jennifer, thinking about you today. Okay, I have boy's, older than yours, but a fart alarm So Mom, is he getting it under the tree?
To all you northern ladies with you cold weather and snow, I know it is beautiful falling, like a postcard.....but darn......it's cold up there. We just missed a ice storm yesterday, by about 50 miles......whew!!!! My hometown of the DC area is turning into a winter wonderland. Talk about a traffic mess! Glad I'm down south at the moment.
Oh Janice, I know it doesn't get easier with the kids and driving. Even with my boy's at almost 22 and 20, I really can't relax until they get home at night. As parents we like to think we did the right thing with the driving......drivers ed, lots of time behind the wheel with Mom and Dad, but it still scares the you know what out of me.
Jiff are you enjoying the health club?
Pooky, think happy words, "I'm not getting sick this year, repeat, I'm not getting sick this year."
Sherrie, how are you and Tommie holding up? Hope you are both better. Didn't your area get snow yesterday?
Ruth hope your still on the mend.
peachie, try again today? Please! I spoke to the posting god's they promised to leave your post alone.
I'm going to get my hair cut and colored today. Have a party to go to Saturday night with my weight loss surgery support group. Found out the other day that my doctor will be there, this is not a good thing. The whole 6 1/2 weeks I was in ICU he never once came to see me, he sent his underlings. I had to make my husband promise not to say anything to him, cross your fingers that it works. The group invited all the doctors in the Atlanta area that do the surgery, so there will be others there as well.
Had a busy evening last night, set up for cub scouts, went to a fifth grade choir Christmas performance, and went back to the cub scouts to clean up.
Tonight my friends at work are taking me out for a birthday dinner, I am so looking forward to it. Boys are going home with a friend so I have the evening to myself. And as usual cub scouts is getting in the way of my birthday celebration celebration with dh, he has to pick up popcorn Friday night and sort it out. So, mom, brother, and my sister are taking me to dinner. I will keep it as low carb as possible, but I also plan on enjoying myself, most likely enjoying a little wine with dinner
Jennifer * Praying all goes well for you today!
Peachie * I still need to see a picture of your snowmen, I love snowmen! Maybe you can drop a pic in your card!
Jif * hope you are enjoying your time at the gym!
mamaJ * How you feeling lately, your posts seem pretty chipper!
Deb * I hope to keep my boys off the road for a long time, but I know that is not likely. What a passage to adulthood, a drivers licence. Something I know I looked forward to for myself, but now dread for my boys. But I know they will be responsible drivers. I will just add to my well earned gray hair collection.
Nice to have Early Chicks to open the Coop, stoke the stove and put on the coffee.
Jennifer, we will be thinking of you today. For some reason, I thought yesterday was Thursday and was really freaked to see you posting very early this morning. Healing thoughts winging their way.
Sherrie, are the meds working for you and Tommy? Let's hope this crap clears up before Christmas.
Taz, 1.5 pounds is not an ONLY! What makes you blame Crystal Lite? Does it have carbs or is it the other chemical stuff. I really do believe we should eat as "clean" as possible. That's why I drink Scotch - alcohol is a disinfectant!
Debkay, I'm glad you avoided the storm. I understand it was pretty awful. Now about that jerkhead/peckerhead doctor - shall we get the Chicken Posse after him to back up your husband. Da noive! I'm amazed he dares to show his face. I hope your DH can keep his cool - mine would not so we'd have to avoid the dork completely.
Dondar, I hope tomorrow is a wonderful day for you. Now, what's this bit with the popcorn? Does DH need to get it for Scouts or for some weird Kalamazoo bed thing? Please don't get too specific! By the way, the pups are 9 days old now and just adorable - eyes are opening and they seem delighted to be here!
Went off program for dinner last night and I'm glad! I village lady made my steak and kidney pies yesterday and called me to say they were ready. They were still warm and fragrant so we ate part of one for dinner with a Caesar salad. Yes, I ate the crust and the Caesar croutons. The pie filling was just meat and onions but the crust was way too tempting. The other two are in the freezer ready for Christmas drop-ins. Frances is famous for her pies just as Kay is famous for her butter tarts and I am famous for my pineapple cake! Maybe when we die, they'll raise a monument to us.
I am over the hump on pain, I think. Only took Tylenol at bedtime last night so should get more done today. My organized daughter MEW emailed me that she is mailing her gifts east today. I have to get my butt in gear. yesterday went down the tubes very quickly because of having to take my car for servicing (air bag problem) and 17 (count them) phone calls! I am going to turn off the phone ringer today and just wrap and listen to Christmas music. Bach's Christmas Cantata anyone?
Hi everyone, just a quickie to say hi. We'll be leaving for the hospital in about an hour. I got my hair cut yesterday and I will be playing with it until then. The idea was to have it cut like Sharon Osborne, but it turned out like a poodle who got in a fight with the groomer. I still have a little perm left in it, so I will need to get more cut. I had it looking mostly sleek, then there is this little patch of curls in the back, and then later we got rained on yesterday and the top starting curling up and feathering! Eww, not feathers! I hope I feel like going back for more cutting on Saturday.
Ruth, sorry to freak you out! My goal is to be on the computer at midnight telling you all that I am home ok. Well, the goal is that I will feel like doing it! I just wish I didn't have to be put to sleep. I am requesting drugs as early as possible. They have a really good one that makes me me flop my head back and forth on the gurney. Good stuff, the whole day will feel like a few happy seconds!
Jennifer...all the best to you today!! Take care of yourself.
Tazcat...way to go!!!! 1.5 loss is better than a 1.5 gain...your going great!
Lots happening today, getting ready for tomorrow....big shopping holiday thingy happening on the street where the store is located. We had the GUND rep in yesterday.....he had some really cool stuff. Ive been looking for teddybears since we opened. Finally I found them!!! The min. order was $500....man, it was wayyyyyyyy too easy to spend that lol. Hopefully the bears will be here before next friday
Thats about it for now....time to make the lunches.
Just a quickie to let you know I'm still alive and for the most part well. Not doing good in the weight dept. Still fighting with the spell of depression, but it's beginning to look a lot like Christmas!!! have a great day, an I'll try to get by when I can stay longer.
Barb, I've been thinking about you and the depression thing and I hope you had a chance to go see your doctor and get your meds adjusted. ((HUGS))
Robin, I LOVE Gund bears, they are so soft and my daughter just snuggles with her Gund kitty everywhere she goes!
Jennifer ((HUGS))--be well, OK? and don't push yourself too hard!
Ruth, you'd better let that wrist heal--remember last time and you did too much? Hmmm??
Jenny, have a lovely evening out!
Deb, I know it will be hard to bite your tongue, but perhaps avoidance is the best policy--not so much for you but for dh! LOL
taz, if I had a 1.5 loss in any given week the happy bananas would be out! Be happy, it's still a loss!!
Well, the sick buggies are outinfull force, they've closed the ER in the hospital, half the kids at school are at home sick and the drop in today was a ghost town. And it is only the beginning. Soon all the families will get together for Christmas and share all thier bugs and spread it even further. Isn't that special? I'm lucky, I'm not sick and Miree has a runny nose and that's it. Too dang cold in this house for buggies to live! It's warmed up outside but the white fluffy stuff is coming down, expected another 6 inches today.
Have swimming lesson today and fly lady and that's it. Thankfully. Been busy wrapping presents and finishing touches on ones that I have made.
Hope you all have a great day!
Oh yeah, Sherrie, I hope you and Tommie are OK, drop in if you can!
WHY did you canadians send us this snow?? oh. never mind. it was the SOUTHERNERS who started this storm!!! it's just about over here. i think. almost time to go shovel the steps. someone will come with the plow in the morning, but he won't do the steps.
now. deb. i disagree with the tactful avoidance approach. he's still out there doing this to other patients!!! and he shouldn't get away with it. there's nothing wrong with going up to him, wearing a big smile, and saying something like, 'well, i'm still alive! surprised???"
yeah.. it's a 'jane the B****' comment, but he nearly killed you and he will continue to be inattentive and careless.
as for the gym... well. i have to tell ya'll the truth. didn't go yesterday because i strained my shoulder doing the backstroke. i've never in my entire life hurt myself swimming, but i guess there's always a first time .and then, on the way home from work, i stopped at the gym to get some time in, but they hadn't shoveled the walk at all, let alone plowed, and since i would have been leaving after dark, i decided it wouldn't be a smart thing to do.
so, i've missed 3 days this week. i went 3 days though. and i really like it.
and to everyone else.. the holidays are really stressful, aren't they. and you're all sooo busy. of course, that's nothing new.
and can't wait to see how jennifer is doing, andbarb. and tommie lee ann, and sherrie and everyone else.
Hi everyone, just a quick note here to say that surgery was cancelled at the last minute. I had a tummy tuck 4 years ago. He never examined my stomach until today, and he said that since my belly button had been relocated, that he couldn't say for sure what was behind the belly button. For laproscopic surgery, they punch through the belly button with what he described as a an instrument like a railroad spike. Then they pump me up with gas and then they put in the camera. They won't know what they went into until they get the camera in. In a normal person, the belly button is a safe place to go in. Since my belly button was moved, they don't know for sure what is behind there, and he said he would hate to poke a hole in my colon. Me too! Anyway, they are going to do a cat scan and see what kind of cyst it is and he will have me evaluated by another surgeon and we'll see if it is something we can just leave along or if we need to do a surgery by a different method. So, here I am! Thanks for everybody's thoughts and prayers. I appreciate all the support you have given me.
Gosh, Jennifer, after all the build-up. You'd think he would have known your medical history. Oh well, now that he knows the score, he will have a better idea what to do with you. Good luck.
Well, today I'm doing the piggy song. Oink Oink Oink.
It was my women's club's pot luck Christmas lunch and, as usual, I overdid it. A full plate of every kind of casserole known to woman, plus a smaller plate piled high with delectable desserts. Now, I'm SOOOOOOO sorry.
Back on track tonight for SURE. I can't let this go on.
Hello everyone! Wow, what a day. We were supposed to get some sleet/rain mix, but it ended up being only rain. It got cold enough to freeze on the buildings and power lines, but the roads stayed pretty clear. The schools let out at 11 yesterday, and started 2 hours late today. Tommie was disappointed there was nothing to make a snowman with!
Her allergy meds are working miracles! She has the normal color back under her eyes instead of the purple that's been there for years. She's doing less mouth breathing, too. Hmmm, why didn't her regular doc notice this sooner? Anyway, the ear is better too, so we are both happy campers. Myself, the meds are taking their own sweet time, and I'm barking a lot, but the pain is gone, thank goodness. To all the other sickies: get well soon! I know how cruddy it is.
Love to all, going to reheat last night's dinner, then a bath. Later, gators!
Just a quickie hello, stopped by on my way to flylady the kitchen and sort mail, and put the shopping away. I did some Christmas shopping yesterday, and went to BJ's, so I have some wrapping to do tonight.
I found the Leslie Sansone 1,2 &3 mile class together on DVD at BJ's- I'm really happy 'cause I wanted to give my sister this, and she moved her VCR down to the playroom, and only has DVD where she wants to exercise. I am so glad to be able to give her this for her birthday- it's tomorrow!
Work is full of million little fires and fusses, the day has been going too fast, and I feel like I'm spinning my wheels- you know? My hard drive crashed Wednesday at 8AM and it took until this afternoon to get a functioning computer back, and I'm sooo behind on a project to end the year and plan for 2003. so the next couple of days will be busy!
Eating is going pretty well, and I'm hoping the 3 lbs down over the past 2 weeks is a permanent number, not a scale blip. We'll see.
Stay well everyone- no colds, no flu, just take care! OK?
