  • Good morning Chicks,
I am ready for work, it is now 5:20 am. I must tell you one of my favourate things, protein balls. I make these by taking an 8oz. pk of cream cheese, 1/4 cup butter, 3pks. sugar sub., 2 scoops soy protein, 2 tbs. peanutbutter, 2tbs. jello pudding powder, mix it well, roll into 1 in. balls and refrig. Quick when you want just a small something. I was reading today someone said that you can't have peanutbutter? i have some everyday. I think it is peanutbutter that keeps me sane I have celery with pnbutter.
Well I am having pizza soup for lunch, Really look at the recipies on that thread. They are great, I havn't looked on the other sites yet, but when I do, I will let you know what is good. I make a lot with burger. Last week I lost 6 1/4 lbs. I weigh in tomorrow night?
Well all for now, I decorated the house inside yesterday, put my tree up, can't wait for the grand children to see it!
Love, Tazcat Another thing that I like are the smoothies, 7 ice cubes, 3/4 cup of milk, 1/4 cup cream (flavoured if you can get it), 3 pks. sugsr sub., 1 tsp. coffee, 1 scoop soy protein powder, blend, yum!!!! tazcat
  • Morning Taz and all to follow!
Back from sunny Florida, where it was warm, but not overly warm. Had a great time visiting with my parents, sister, brother and their crews. Everyone was there but my two older kids.

I have read a few of the old threads........I have one thing to say.......Janice you can whine anytime you want to. As a matter of fact, I don't think it was whining, I think it was a legit beef.

Pooky a foot and a half of snow!! My gosh, Atlanta would never recover from that.

Ruth how is the wrist holding up?

Jiff you just amaze me!! Joining a health club...........all the energy you have........keep it up my friend!!!

peachie, did you get the frig fixed, or did you get a new one? Talk about poor timing.........right before Thanksgiving. I'm glad everything turned out okay. And.......good news about the little guy!

Ruth heard this morning on the news that wine is being given another thumbs up......it seems it helps with memory. My hubby is thankful. And for all the coffee drinkers, they also said that coffee is great for the memory, but only for women.

Today is a little on the busy side for me.......grocery store.....getting my house back in order after the two boys were here alone for 4 days. It's not too bad, just not the way I want it.

Off for more coffee.......hope everyone has a terrific day.

    Debbie
  • Quickie Again!
Really goofed yesterday - not on food, but on time. I ended up not doing errands and sleeping the afternoon away! Darn drugs! I'm about to take the last pain-killer and get with it!
    Catch you all later.
  • Happy Tuesday Morning Chickies!

Life just gets busier and busier around the holidays. I thought I was ahead of the game, but time is winding down to Christmas and I still have so much to do. Guess it keeps me out of trouble.

The weather icon on my desktop says it is -2 F. Can you say super nippy!?! We had a bit of a snow storm Sunday night and Monday which dumped about a foot of snow. I love it and so do the boys, they play outside for hours. I love waking up in the morning and my room is a glow from the crystal white snow outside. I think I will always live in Michigan, I love the changing seasons.

MamaJ, hope you are taking care of yourself and on the mend.

Debkay, thanks for the info on coffee, but I am living proof that your statement is false! I drink a pot of java a day and my memory is not so good, but maybe it would be worse if I did not drink it!

Tazcat, I'll bet the info on peanut butter is not correct also, it is often saves me from cheating on carbs!

Ruth, hope the Hershey and family are doing good. I was just about resolved to get my son an Austrialian Cattle dog because that is what he wants and at Thanksgiving he had so much fun with my sister's ACD, they were just great together. But then you have to go and mention that some of her pup have the "irish" markings. Those are the markings of dear Snoopy, my mom's poodle that I grew up with. Snoopy joined the spirit dogs more than 20 years ago, but he is still fresh in my childhood memories. So now instead of visions of sugarplums dancing in my head, I am again having visions of PWDs dancing in my head!

Hope everyone is having an op day!
  • Ummm, Jenny? -2 is a walk in the park here--try -20 right now?

And on that note, we are heading off to drop in where it's warm and there's coffee.

Had my security guard training last night for a couple of hours and my first shift is midnight Saturday December 14th. Yeah, 12 hour shifts too. Going to be really long the first time around but I'm sure I'll get used to it just fine. I'm just glad to have this job going on and then I can go to school during the week! Now that Ihave started, I am going to sign up for my first class starting in January. The only kicker there is that I have to trave and hour away to go to it. But hey, it's only once a week, so I'll live.

Gotta run, my puppy is sqwaking at the door to come in--don't blame her it's too cold outside!!!

    Take good care everyone!
  • Morning Chickies....... gee, it sounds like you all have everything under control! (appearances can be so deceptive!! )

The sun is shining here, but I haven't stuck my nose out the door to see how cold it is.... altho I did hear that we were supposed to get some snow. As far as I am concerned, you Northern chickies don't have to share with us...... I'd much rather stick with the southern gals on this issue!!

Another work day today, altho it is a late shift, I don't have to go until around 2... home about 8 to a pot roast in the crock pot - boyohboy! what a wonderful invention!!

Ruth... have you gotten to see/play with your newest grandbabies yet? Boyohboy! sure wish I had the stamina/personality/ability/time to have one of the babies, but I'll just have to wait for a teenager! (boy! I never thought I'd ever hear myself wish for a teenager again!! )

Pooky.. good luck with starting the job and school - I KNOW you can do it! (Hey, if I could, you can!!!)

Deb.... welcome back from sunny Fla..... how were your folks?
(oops, welcome back to you too Dottie!!) Glad to know that the boys didn't do too much destruction while you were away!

Jif - I'm soo proud of you for joining the club! I know that you have the determination and "sticktoitiveness" that will make your membership be worth a whole lot more than mine ever were! (I used to think that just joining was enough!!! I didn't know that you had to actually GO and use the equipment!!! )

Anyone I've missed, apologies, but the coffee hasn't yet worked to fix this darn CRS-affected memory chip!

Well, it's off to have breakfast and COFFEE!!! Catch you all later chickies............
  • Good morning everybody, just stopping in to say hello. I haven't been online much lately, just not been feeling well physically or emotionally! I will be a thousand times better when I wake up Thursday night and all this mess is behind me. I hope everybody had a nice Thanksgiving. Mine was ok, we had an untraditional one (lasagna, etc) and I missed the regular stuff.

Miss you all, will try and catch up soon!
  • Hello to all,

Just a quick check in. I have too much to do today AGAIN! I didn't get everything done that needed to be done yesterday so I have to get it done today.

I'm supose to bake some cookind for the ladies fellowship at church tonight and I dont have any butter. I really dont want to have to run to the store I was just there last night at 9:00 p.m. and I wish I would have thought of it then. Maybe my MIL can get me out of this one. She might have extra butter that she can run over to me. I think I only have one stick and I'll need more then that because we are supose to bring 5 dozen cookies.

DH leaves tonigh with DS#1 in tow. I'll miss them but time will go by quickly. My poor MIL is having a fit because they are going up there and they dont have a cell phone. I think they will be O.K. but my MIL is about to have a hissy fit. This too shall pass.

    See ya all later, ChrissyB
  • Ugh, Ugh, UGH! Tommie and I are both home sick today, while her daddy works as if nothing is wrong. Hey, this mom stuff has an unfair side to it. She is going to the doc at 12, hopefully I will make my own 2:40 appt. If not, guess who still won't be able to breathe tonight. Does anyone know what it feels like to have pleurisy? How about pneumonia? And why am I spelling such big words early in the morning?? Anyway, imagine sharp pains in the chest and back with every cough, and that's my life. Cross your fingers for me!

Talk to ya'll later, hopefully without the sickies.
  • Sherrie, hie thee to the doctor. It sounds like bronchitis or pneumonia to me. You need drugs, girlie!!!!!

Speaking of drugs, took that last pain killer and relaxed on the bed until it worked. Ahem! Another piece of the day shot to heck with sleep! Maybe I should just drink Scotch instead of pills.

OK - I am now dressed, wrote MEW a letter, am going to make Harry's lunch and then shop and wrap and mail!

    I am such a sloth!
  • Well, I managed to get through yesterday mostly OP. Whew. The hardest part is saying no to yourself the first few times you're tempted. Then you start to feel good about having "so much" willpower.
    So far today I'm OP.
Thinking about all you poor eastern chicks freezing your feathers in the cold and snow. It's chilly here but no sign of snow or even rain...for a change! I love having a green lawn all winter...especially since it doesn't grow much at all. You can keep your Winter Wonderland and I'll enjoy my greenery. LOL
I finally finished my club's newsletter so have to take it to be copied today for the meeting on Thursday. It will be a potluck lunch and this time I'm being lazy. I bought a frozen lasagne as my contribution. Just too much to do to fuss with making something from scratch. I sure hope somebody brings some meat but I can't count on it. These events are usually heavy on the starchy casseroles.
Well, that's all for today. Catch you later.
  • Quick hello to everyone! It's been storming this afternoon, sooooo, between the puter shutting down and freezing up, I keep trying to read and post.

    Hope everyone is doing great!

Try to come back after the storms!

    Janice

PS - When in May? I forgot! Any chance of going to the Joisey Shore?
  • Everyone pull out the Lysol and put on your masks. I have viral bronchitis and dd has an ear infection and "a very bad allergy problem" which we are about to spend $100 fixing up. Hmmmm, thank goodness for insurance, to think how much it would be without!

Gotta find something for dinner and then I'm off for a bubble bath, heavy on the hot water, as I can't get warm tonight. Love to all, talk to you tomorrow!
  • I CAN'T TAKE THIRD GRADE HOMEWORK!!!!! It is too much for me during this holiday season! First it was the report and presentation of a relative that came through Ellis Island. Tonight it is a recipe that is a family tradition, and tomorrow is the penquin project (maybe I'll cut out a picture of a nun!). I can't take it, I just can't!!! Mind you these are for the PARENTS to do!!!!

Annie...do you torment your parents like this????

    Will I pass?

I'll never make it through the fourth grade!

Been up at 5am, fly lady, laundry, getting the kids up and out, groceries, covered mom's air conditioner...(um Jiff? WHERE is the air conditioner cover for YOURS?) nails, pick up the kids, neighbors and all, homework, dinner dishes yadda yadda yadda. Tomorrow I shop (yes, Debkay, I AM going to Kohls!) and then lunch with the girls.

    Feel better, Sherrie!!!!!
Janice, the shore is about an hour and a half from me. Can't quite figure out the logistics of going but I will admit I do dream about a week long beach party!

later, I am off to do my homework!
