Default The Cluck - Monday, November 25

A month from today....... never mind!

Woke at 3 and lay there thinking of all I have to do and finally got up and dressed at 5. This sleep problem is so silly! Maybe I really only need four hours a night? Anyhow, I've done nothing except some work on the PC but am going downstairs now to start the coffee. Of course that means Miss Lucy will wake up and the day will be underway. She is still sleeping so yesterday's two walks burned off some of that energy!

I wish to heck the walks would burn off some of this fluffy stuff I'm carrying on my body! The scale is not budging and the blood sugar is still too high! I've been 211 all month and have been pretty well OP since the Halloween candy is gone. I am so sick of dieting! Whine! Whine!

We are waiting a blessed event in our family - not Hershey's pups, but my sister's first grandchild! Joan's daughter Linda is overdue after a long and tricky pregnancy so my sister is really on edge. I think they will induce by Wednesday if nothing happens.

Hershey, by the way, is enjoying her last week before the puppy deluge - sleeping in Morna's room and hanging out with her when she teaches lessons. December 1 is the official pop the pups day.

I'd better get myself in gear or I'll be back in bed. Have a super Monday.

Scrambled eggs and sausage coming up!

A very clucky morning to everyone! Hmmm, Ruth, instead of the sausage, could I please have bacon, very well done? Yes, I know that it isn't kosher, but it just sounds so darn good!

It's good to be able to get back here...... last week ended up to be more hectic than I ever imagined it would be, then dh got sick.... need I say more? They're such babies....... BUT, being the excellent wife that I am, , a large pot of chicken soup was made!!!
This is a very strange week coming up - today I am working only a late afternoon shift, and tomorrow also only an afternoon shift. Thereafter I am off for the holiday weekend..... but I will be helping out at a food pantry on Wednesday to get as many food packages as possible delivered.

I hope that everyone has a wonderful day..... I'll try to check back later.........

Good Morning Ruth and samsG and all those to come!

Very beautiful this morning, looks like a postcard outside! Large flakes of snow coming down and covering just everything. Aaaahhh, now if that doesn't put you in the Christmas spirit!

I may or may not be heading into the office to fill in for our missing managing director and secretary. Both are away and the phones usually ring off the hook! I have to call our interim director after nine to see if she needs me.

I was supposed to go see Santa Claus 2 yesterday but I fell asleep and missed the matinee! I promised to take her Tuesday night which is cheap night here--$5 per person. Rented a mess of Scooby Doo videos instead, she was as happy as a clam.

Off to get some housework done and continue my carpet cleaning adventures

Talking Good Morning

Late start for me this morning. I have so much housework to do today and laundry. I would love to hang the laundry outside on the line but I dont know if it'll be warm enough for that. PA. doesnt really have warm Nov's. But I love the way the clothes smell from the fresh air.

My weekend was sort of a bummer. I really dread working on Friday nights and it's been making so tierd for the rest of the weekend. I look like a zombie and all I want to do is sleep.

My FIL was acting odd this weekend. I dread the holidays with him. To put it in a nutshell he's a 65 year old man that has temper tantrums like a 2 year old. This weekend he did a doozie over something that just didn't matter and then he drove like a nut with 4 of my boys in the car. I wont go into the whole strory but if you want to read about it look at my journal. I wrote about it in there. It was yesterdays entry .

I have been doing so well with out my Mt. Dews. I haven't had any now for about 4 days. I even bought some unleaded coffee. I figured if I'm going to have coffee I'll allow myself one cup a day that is reg. and then the rest will have to be decaf.

Well, this was probably sort of a bummer post but it's what going on around here. Have a great day ladies and be sure to buy an extra turkey while they are so cheap. My favorite Butter Ball's are only 99 cents per pound and I'm getting an extra one.!!! YUMMY

See ya , ChirssyB

Angry Good Morning !!

Its monday, and its NOV 25TH!!! I cant believe how fast time is flying by and how fast Christmas is coming!!

I finally got out christmas shopping last night, left the house at 7pm didnt get back til 1030, had poor hubby worried pretty bad. So I told him I'd take his cell phone with me next time I dont like to be rushed when Im shopping lol (which is why I left him at home) After all that time, I got my brother partly done, and a few stocking stuffers bought. Everyone on my list is so hard to buy for, or when I know what I want, I cant find it!

Its going to be another apple cidar day at the store, since we still have 1/2 gallon left from saturday. Lets hope for a prosperious monday

I didnt manage to stay op over the weekend. Minor slip up last night, but Im back to it today.....and I decided Im not going to weigh myself again until the 17th of Dec. The scale and measuring tape have been making me nuts! I adjusted my goal date, after doing the calculations, it just wasnt possible....it still may not be. Only time will tell. The carb and sugar cravings have stopped again, but the big MAN size hunger is still here. I dont understand.

Off to have breakfast and make the lunches.......have a great day ladies

Mew,

Welcome to the daily board. I do think that some people eat the WASA breads. If I'm really desperate I'll eat one. I do this when I'm wanting something sweet because I put some cream cheese mixed with splenda and a dash of cinnamon. With a cup of coffee of course.

For the most part I would think that other crackers are a No-No especially if your following Atkins. Um, rice cakes...nope I dont think your supose to be having those either.

If your not doing Atkins then that could be a totally different story but I can advise on that because I'm not sure what other plans allow.

It's nice to have you here with us. Your mom is one of my favorites!!! Her posts always make me laugh. Looking forward to getting to know you!!

Blessings, ChrissyB

thanks ChrissyB

I am not totally following Atkins, just taking the concept of it. I have a really hard time not eating all those delicious carbs.

I am only good for three days on dieting and WHAM I eat out the fridge on the fourth day and then the cycle begins again.

I was hoping you would say crackers were fine and i hate rice cakes anyway. Now i do not have to put my taste buds through that torture.

My family loves and eats potatoes and bread a lot for dinner. I guess I will just have to sit and watch and drool at dinner.

Just popping in for a quick hello.

Welcome MEW.......we just love your Mom, metal bra and all.

My house is in pretty good shape and I have started baking for Thanksgiving. I do enjoy baking.......hubby and kids will probably eat what I am making now tonight, it doesn't stand a snowballs chance in you know where of making it until Thursday. Thats okay, I really made it for them for tonight, just won't tell them that. Is that mean?

Good afternoon, Chicks. It's a gorgeous day here on the Wet Coast (It only rains when Ruth comes our way. ) We awoke to a heavy frost this morning but the sun is shining brilliantly. A perfect day to garden except that I'm on strike until Spring. Instead I'm doing time writing Christmas cards (whose bright idea was that anyhow?)
I made it to the swimming pool this morning for the first time in over a week. I had such an achy shoulder all last week there was no way I could even pull up my swim suit. Of course, the painkillers I was taking and the comfort food I was eating sure didn't help matters.
MEW, I used to be a potato/bread/pasta/rice lover too. Well, I guess I do still love them but it's amazing what you can resist when you put your mind to it. After a while you won't miss them as much. It sounds like you're a carb addict like so many of us here. Have you considered trying the CArbohydrate Addict's Diet? Your Mom can tell you all about it but basically you eat very low carb for two meals a day and for your third meal you have an hour to eat just about whatever you want as long as you keep the proportions to 1/3 protein 1/3 low carb veggies and 1/3 nummy stuff. Oh, and you have to start the meal with a big salad. Other than that, you can pork out for a whole hour. Just remember that if you want second helpings of potatoes or bread, you have to start with salad again, then you have to have seconds of your low carb veggies and your protein as well. Some people have lost weight very well on this plan. It's worth a try.
Well, I have some gifts to wrap so I guess I'd better get at it. I made good inroads on my shopping list over the weekend but still more to do.
