I am fairly new to low carb. I am not doing " atkins" per se, but I am following the majority of his ideas.
I quit smoking in July of 2000 and have proceeded to gain 57 lbs.
I am not a happy camper. I am tired of being fat and I am ready to do something about it. My inactivity has been a major problem, but having twin preschoolers at home, it's impossible to get out. I bought a " wwalk at home " video and doing it religiously. Started aweek ago 11/12, but not very good on food portion lol..lost 2 lbs..
I have recommitted and I am hoping to make some friends here and get some support and offfer it as well!!!
here's to LC and a size 10!!!
Good to have you here with us. I know how hard it can be with little ones. I have five little boys ages, 11,10,9,6 and 5. It's hard to get anything in here that's just for me.
I have a walking exercise tape. I get the giggles every time I pop it into the VCR. There is one lady on that tape that looks like her head is on a spring and it bobs all over the place. If she only knew what she looked like. Oh my, what if I do that while doing the video....nah, I'm usually on the sofa watching it !!!
Welcome Lost. Great bunch here, post on the daily so we can get to know you.
I understand about the weight gain with stopping smoking. My hubby stopped in june of 99 or 00, I can't remember which. He has gained about 35 pounds and just can't seem to shake it. He went from 180 to 215, he is 6ft 1, so I think the 180 was too skinny. Sorry to get off on that.
Hi!
I quit smoking last year too. It is one of the hardest things I've ever done. If you can do that, you can do anything. Good for you.
If you ever want to, your welcome to post on the Low Carb Freestyle thread. We are all doing low carb, but there are a lot of different ways to do it. Some of us are combining low carb with weight watchers, some Atkins with Somersizing, some a modified Atkins. No matter where you post here, there is always support and a great bunch of people here.
I think 2 lbs is fantastic, and with twins, no less! You are certainly active just keeping up, I'm sure. Congrats on the no- smoking thing. It is an extremely big thing to do, but so worth it!
I hope you enjoy low-carb. It does help me feel so much better. Su
Hey, lost and spaced, major on quitting the evil weed! It is not an easy thing to do so good for you.
Welcome to one of the most supportive (and fun) 3FC forums. We are not all Atkins but a variety of lower carb plans. We even have some non-lowcarbers who just like to hang out with us. This is a great group of chicks!
Please post on the daily thread where we share trials and tribulations of Life, not just of the weightloss journey. Of course, specific questions can be posted as new threads.
