L, thanks for the coffee, I really need it to get moving today......... I'll (thankfully) share a quick cup with you and then get to work... today will be an "odd" one..... my work shift was switched from afternoon to morning, which means I'll have the whole afternoon for running around........ stuff like returning a VCR that I bought that is too darn hard to use (the clock and channels won't go "backwards" so when you want to set it for timer, you have to go thru the whole darn set of channels or 24 hours!!!); get to the bank and deposit some reimbursement checks (parking and tolls in NYC - add up to big $$$$$$$ ) from my boss so that I can pay my AmericanExpress bill: you know, little details like that!!! and more of the blah blah blah.......

ok, now that I've bored you and put you back to sleep, I'm gonna go have an omelet to go with this terrific coffee and get out of the door........

see y'all later.......

Sono, Have a fun afternoon. The sun is shinnin and it looks to be in the 40's today, not too bad compared to what it has been...
40 min into my WO the ped's office called to tell me older boy has STREP (crap! i just dropped him off) So back to school I went. Today is KFS's birthday (she post sometimes) and 10 of us were headed to lunch, make that 9 now! I was able to get a friend to get little man from school today so it looks like a lonly day stuck at home....I REALLY wanted to go to lunch and gab with the girls, it has been a long week.....

OK enough complaining, my gail is finishing up and I need to go finish my WO....

Good morning. Just hangin' out waiting for Heddy to show up for a visit. She's the director from the play and we seem to be becoming friends. This morning we will go through recipes as she is going to be working at a recovery house for alcoholic men and needs to plan nutritious and high calorie meals for them. That'll be a switch for me! Heddy is Egyptian, around 40, skinny and gorgeous but I like her anyhow!

Afternoon Ladies

Ruth~sounds like you have a nice afternoon planned.

Sono~I always enjoyed the early shift for that same reason....enjoy your afternoon!

L~ its not just me thats had a long week.....enjoy your quiet time....even if it has been forced on you

I seem to have gotten over what ever was making me feel so crappy yesterday and the day before. I took it very easy with my work out yesterday, still ate clean, but not enough. Since thats the worst of it, Im not going to worry about it too much. Got my wo done bright and early this morning and a big breakfast of oatmeal to fill my belly!!!

Hubby and I still havent come up with a date yet....there is alot happening this year, his oldest son is getting married in August, my brother is getting married the first week of september, and my cousin is getting married first week of October!! So.....where do we fit us in? Its not going to be a big wedding......very small with just close family (so far) Mom has already started talking about relatives and food and such!! This is the 2nd time around for both hubby and I, neither of us want a fuss. Anyway, so far, we have thought of the botanical gardens in Niagara Falls.....in the rose garden, or herb garden. Our first date consisted of coffee at starbucks, visiting the butterfly conservatory and the gardens in the falls. Then to Picards peanuts for our first kiss So.....we didnt think Starbucks would want a wedding in their coffee shop, and my daughter is allergic to peanuts....so picards is out of the question!! Thats it so far for the planning.....Im still in a bit of shock...and I know I need to get on all this. Soon!!

Have a great day ladies.....Im off to see what else is happening on the boards

Robin

How about June, Robin? It's a lovely, traditional, month to get married in and the weather is usually good. If you're not having a big to-do, you could easily get a small party organized in the time you have left. Then you can attend the other weddings as a married couple. I'm sure I can find myself a nice matron-of-honour outfit in that time.
L - sorry about your sick youngster. Strep can really hurt, poor kid. Too bad you have to miss your gal pal outing tho.
Sono, if you find a VCR that is EASY to use, please tell me about it. I've been fighting with ours for 10 years. It's still a challenge just to re-set the clock when the power goes out. I can do it though. I have friends who have had masking tape over the flashing 12:00 on their VCRs for years.
Dietwise I have nothing to brag about and I can't complain too much either because I really haven't been trying very hard lately. I haven't gone off program and I'm still in very slight ketosis, but I just can't seem to get up the ambition or energy to exercise. Is it normal to go into hibernation when it's nearly spring?
I saw the first robin this morning, which is good news. Snowdrops and crocuses are blooming so spring can't be far behind. After seeing the news stories about the blizzard in eastern Canada, I'm glad I only have to worry about endless rain here on the Wet coast.

OK ladies SKIP the VCR and go for the TiVo...well worth the $ for recording favorite shows and skipping all of the comercials PLUS you can pause live tv for 30 min while you chat on the phone. I got 1 for my birthday last year and LOVE it!

L, what the heck is a TiVo? I bet you can't buy one in Delta. Heck, we can't even rent movies in Delta.

Nice news about the robin, Linda. We are still in a blizzard.

Sono, glad you are feeling better. I am still on the lookout for an adult Portie for you and also for another friend. People who have Porties really don't want to give them up.

Robin - a wedding! How wonderful! Yes it would be nice to attend the family weddings as a married couple but I guess you'll have to make that decision. June around here is great - peonies, iris, lemon lilies. Hmmm - wanna get married in Delta?

Had a great time giving Heddy high calorie and high carb recipes this morning. Being Egyptian - and a rich one at that - she has very little knowledge of our sort of comfort food. The guys have been asking her for things like meatloaf and Shepherd's pie and she doesn't have a clue. I also passed over several recipe cards from way back that I will probably never make again - chocolate mayonnaise cake and the like! *** sigh ***

Thumbs down I finally made it to the coop !!!!!!!!!!!

Just another busy, busy day which has only seemed more drug out as I've been awake (again) since the wee hours of the morning! Think I'm going to start taking my vitamins in the morning!

Robin - June would be a lovely month! Still gives you about four months which should be plenty of time for a lovely small wedding. Well, how small can it be with all our pretty beaks there? lol And so what if it's the "second time around" !!! Do it your way hon, it's special!!

Ruth - I'm like you.........what in the world is a Tivo???? I can barely get the vcr or dvd turned on yet alone program something. How was the "monologue" play?

Sono-Sure sounds like you've got more of an extended work day with all those errands! Hope you had a great one and traffic was kind!!

Linda - How's that beauty of a grandbaby doing? They grow up soooo fast!

L - Thanks for the Tivo link - I'll have to get ds to explain it all to me - lol
How's the little man doing? Pls tell KFS a very happy birthday!

Been working in the office most of the day - again! Work better pick up soon and weather cooperate cause I need a break from all this "intense attention" dh is giving and needing! And I mean the kind of attention that requires me to constantly be working! Tried to get him to go to the deer lease this weekend but since some of the job sites have dried out he's got so much to do before it starts raining again on Monday....but says he might go next weekend!

Better run - youngun's are hitting the door and dh won't be far behind!

Hi everyone...... sheesh! what an afternoon!!! I got so darn mad at the blankety-blank-blank who parked next to me in the Costco parking lot, that if I had had a can of spray paint in my purse I just might have told that jerk what I thought of him - ALL OVER HIS NEW MINIVAN!!!!! He parked so close to me that I could not get my door open to get inside!!!!! A man came by and told me I should smash his door, but that would have hurt my truck too!!! So I just settled for grumbling lots (and some notsonice words, too!! ) opening the door on the passenger side and climbing over the console to get to the driver seat!!! Grrrrrrrrrr... altho, I probably was a sight to see......... I guess I should never have gone to Costco today.... I bought a new coffee burr grinder and Cuisinart programable coffee pot..... sigh.... dh(the sh) is ticked off - I told him too bad (oops...... maybe not such a good idea to do, but I am sooooo tired of the messy old pot and grinder.... always made such a mess to use!!!) Anyhow, I was also a good mommy and grandma: present for older dd that I KNOW she wants (a mini foodprocessor - on sale for only $14.99!!), and 4 "Clifford" books for the grandkiddies... the books were on some kind of special thing that donates the profits to a children's hospital, so how could I NOT buy them, right?!?!

Robin, Ruth's idea of a wedding in Delta is terrific!! After all, Jiff had the idea a long time ago of having a chick meet up there in time for the fair, so why not have the wedding then and we can all be brideschicks!!! (It'll be much better than my sil's wedding in April - all formal long white dress, veil, etc etc etc - I think her grandkids will probably walk her down the aisle!!)

TIVO!!! No more talk of TIVO! My friend got it a couple of months ago, and if any of you watch "Sex in the City" - remember Miranda and her TiVo? Well, that is my friend Ann!!! OY!

Linda - this vcr is definitely NOT easy to use - in fact I have to RTFM in order to program it to tape anything, but at least the time can go backwards and so can the channels!

Thanks Ruthie... I'll just keep on waiting for my special Portie to come along - I know it will happen when the right one is ready!
