Good morning,
Yes it is the 12th. I have a nephew and an Aunt, not related who have birthday's today.
I stayed up late last night to catch the Sopranos, I had missed it Sunday..OMG!!!!!
Anyway, off to drop the kids off, the gym and I think I might hit the scrapbooks this afternoon. I don't have to get the kids till 3:30 so i have a nice little chunck of time.
I heard the service was nice yesterday. My mother was very happy to get her fathers WWII diaries back from his second wife's (i knew her as my grandmother my whole life) family. It was touch and go if they would have given back my grandfathers things. All of his metals were returned as well. I am looking forward to seeing those things.
Ok enough puttsing around this morning...
have a good morning.

Morning everyone........ just a quick one this morning... my carpool will be here in 1 hour and I just got up! who's got the coffee this morning????
Sue... it's sooo good to see you back, starting the daily again! Hope you have a great day....
L ... I missed the Soprano's also on Sunday (black tie dinner dance for our temple) and caught it last night: wow wow and double wow!!! but what the heck was up with that last few seconds? i didn't get it, did you? So sorry you weren't able to make it to the memorial, but really happy that those precious things came back to the family!
To everyone to come..... have a great day, and I'll try to catch up after work......
Had a busy evening last night, luckily dh was able to watch the boys. I made a cake for tonights PTO meeting where we are honoring a gal who will be moving to Florida. I made pumpkin spice with cream cheese frosting and an autum pumpkin scene of frosting. After that I took down the decorations in a display cabinet at school, then I painted windows at the school, for a reading program race the kids will be having. After that I swung over to Michaels (a craft store) because I had a 50% off coupon that expired last night. And I just could not afford to let a coupon go to waste. After that was 2 hours of volleyball. Whew!
After a busy evening, I got up at 3:30 this morning. That darn cold I had weeks ago is getting worse again. It never seems to completely go away.
Annie ~ hope your mom is on the mend, let us know how she is doing.
Robin ~ congrats on reaching your November goal. And of course you can enjoy an evening out, especially for an anniversery celebration.
Sue ~ enjoy your exercise, good for you, girl!
L ~ So glad your grandfather's possessions were returned, how special for you. So sorry you missed the memorial.
Wow! "Black Tie Dinner Dance" - be still my heart. I have such a deadly social life!
L144S, I am sorry you missed the service but glad you got back the family heirlooms. I have a few myself that I cherish.
Dondar, QUIT the cake talk! I keep having dreams of carrot cake with cream cheese icing!
Pook, slow down! And I guess I should say the same to Sue - what busy chicks you are.
Debkay, Hi.
I am off to the dentist in Kingston this morning - the re-check that was cancelled back in October. No, I've not been flossing regularly since then so hope all is well. After the appointment, I'll hit Petcetera for some toys for Miss Lucy. Most of her toy collection is now buried in the garden - as are the ice cubes! I think she needs more stuff of her own to play with - yesterday she grabbed a handmade cushion and ran around the house shaking it! Luckily, I can get most stuff away from her by offering her a jelly bean from the H. stash. No black or red ones for the dogs - I like them.
Spent a couple of hours with Tracy at the Fair Office yesterday. She knows computers, Excel and several Accounting packages so caught on really quickly. I'll have to give her advice on some of the stuff that is not weekly routine but she is gonna be great! I really do have my life back! A final wind-up executive meeting tonight, some small changes to the financials and that'll be it!
No mouse poop in the cupboard this morning but no mouse in the trap either! Maybe they ate all the good stuff and are not coming back!
Another quickie hello here! I've got a doctors appointment this morning so not much slack time.
Had weird dreams - guess I've become obsessed with my boobs - I dreamt that a baby kept trying to get to my nipples to nurse and I was trying to save "them"! How silly! I'm too old to have a baby that young and I wouldn't be walking around naked for him to get to them!
I'll check back in with ya'll later! Have a great day!
Good morning. I've decided to come out of the 'lurking mode' and actaully say Hello.
I've been doing the Low Carb WOL for a while now and was looking for a forum to join into. Some of the other forums on other boards seem complicated, and I've always enjoyed the 3FC board. I used to post in Night Owls, but the traffic sort of slowed up there for a while.
I've always done WW in the past, for was willing to try somethin new. Some of the girls that I work with have been very successful with it. I sort of follow a program from www.lowcarbliving.ca It's a site run by a Canadian couple and it doesn't give you a strict plan to follow, more like guidelines.
I haven't weighed myself since I've started, but know that I feel great and am going by that and will weigh myself January 1. That shouldn't be too hard, as I got rid of my scale a long time ago. I have pulled my belt in 2 notches though, so that is a good indication for me.
I live in Northern Ontario and work part time as a critical care nurse. Working nights hasn't been as hard as I thought that it would be. I used to 'graze' alot all night long.
Look forward to getting to know more of you ladies.
ummmmmm? Janice? They've been giving you good drugs, haven't they? Guard those nips today!!! YIKES!
getting ready to pick mom up. yes, jiff, she is going to get another manicure today....i think it is only because it is next to the bakery. She said you are having a party and need some baked goods. Is that true?
Well, Im in quick this am too.....had a late night last night and a bit of a sleep in
Had 2 glasses of some sort of fruity martini drink last night, they were delicious, however, I felt the major munchies come on at about 8 last night!! It scared the **** out of me! So....I got out the pots and pans, cooked up a mess of broccoli, with cheese and chicken. I felt much better lol
Its amazing what a little bit of sugar will do!
Have a great day Ladies, I'll check back tonight.
Ruth, I think I can do that exercise plan you've got!
Morning Everyone! I wanted to check in today and update you on my mom. You have all been such wonderful friends and your support is everything to me. She is at home and she is at least resting and taking it easy. My DS and I have talked to her about 2 times a day to check on her. My dad is SOOOO helpless in the kitchen, he has been going and getting take out food to try to tempt her with it. She can't be eating 500 calories a dayfrom the sounds of what she is telling me! I hope that the care package that DS and I put together gets there today and tempts her into eating more than that. Her voice sounds stronger on the phone than it did Friday when I talked to her-that is a plus.
As for me and the rest of my life since last I posted--DH and I celebrated (if you could call it that) our 20th wedding anniversary. It was pretty much a business as usual day for us. DS is finished with football for the season!!! They DID make the State Playoffs and made school history as the first team from their school to ever do that! Soooo proud of them!! The bank in town treated all of the players, coaches and cheerleaders to a steak dinner that we Booster parents cooked and served the night before the game. Unfortunately our first game was against the defending State Champion and we lost, but it was still so exciting. I haven't hugged that many highschool football players in 25 years! They are already deep into basketball practice--no rest for the weary! New, young coach from the Chicago area--very gung ho. I think that DS will be playing both JV and Varsity in this also.
As for me--I am eating terrible and not exercising--sooooo.....now that you have given me my hugs I guess you better kick my butt too! : Did I mention that the Dr. put me on a mild anxiety medicine--Oxazepam--I think he thinks I am starting to fray around the edges!! He also wanted me to start on Wellbutrin, but I was afraid to take it cuz of what the side effects thing said.
I love you guys and need to get here ALL of the time!!! You keep me going.
I need to read up and see what is going on in all of your lives. I hope that life is treating you well--you all certainly deserve it!!
Take care!
The boys were so funny this morning. They have been waiting for the new Star Wars video to come out and today was the day. We actually went out this morning to rent the video. I told them that they have to finish their school work before they are allowed to watch the movie.....mean mom! I just realized this morning that I probably need to be giving them a little less work per day because they are already finishing some of their books. I guess I could also just order the next grades and have them on hand. It never dawned on my that I could be giving them too much work. I've always worried that I wasnt giving them enough!
Oh well they never compain.
I'm supose to be going to a young couples activity this evening. They are going to be playing volleyball. I dont want to play. I already told DS#1 that he can take my place. I'm really not into it and would love to just snooze and lay on the sofa all day. TOM is working on me and I'm always extra run down feeling then. I need to start getting some extra food on hand because I'll be eating up a storm in a few days!!!
Been raining so heavy here I am about to draw up plans for an ark soon!
Hubby is still not well, he is having surgery on Friday for his wisdom teeth, ask me if I am looking forward to another week of moaning and smoothies, HECK NO! Wish I could speed time up a week or two and get past this. I am still in xmas shopping mode, checking out new computer for ME now, ha ha. It gets harder to buy for the kids as they get older, my boys are 22 and 19, daughter is 18, and little Jay is now 22 mos, he is easy to buy for still! Gonna draw names next year for my nieces and nephews as I have alot of them, I would much rather spend a larger amount and get something nice for the family or a few kids, then having to divide it up between 14 of them, not including the parents! Hope yall have a great day!
