Talking TGIF - Friday October 11

Good morning and rise and shine! Just starting us up. The big coffee pot will be ready in a few minutes - gotta let the Girls out for a romp. It is so dark and cold here - I'm sure glad we have the Dog Garden so I can stay cozied indoors!

Back. Hey, you Sleepyheads!

Lucy and I are off to Obedience Training shortly. I have not worked with her much this week at all so we will see how impressed the Instructor is!

I got the wrist stitches removed yesterday along with a lecture from the surgeon! Would you believe I've been using the wrist too much? The incision is not healed as well as he would like but will improve over the next two weeks. It sure FEELS better without those damned picky stitches rubbing on everything.

We got oil yesterday by noon and the furnace is back and running! Would you believe $463! We were right out! It sure was great to take off the sweaters and jacket and have a hot bath. Because of the cold house, I did not get the basil processed for the freezer. Oh well - today is another day, or afternoon as the a.m. is full.

No time to write more so ......

Default Good Morning!

Gosh Ruth, we will be glad to take some of your cool/cold air. It is not very hot here but the darn humidity is at 100%. A cold front by Sunday, so they say

Glad to hear you have the stitches out, take it easy.

The CRS is kicking in, I can't remember anything from yesterdays daily.

Talked to my Aunt yesterday, who lives in the city of the most recent sniper shooting in DC. She said people are trying to lead a normal life but it's hard. Your afraid to stop for gas, or run into a grocery store. Heard on the news that all activities at the schools have been cancelled.

I'm finally going to get my passport application done today. I'm running out of time, if I don't do it soon, hubby will be going to St. Lucia without me.

Football game tonight, competition tomorrow and hubby leaves for London on Sunday. Busy weekend.

Have a good one all, doggie is standing here with crossed legs, gotta go.

Talking T.G.I.F.

Anyone for coffee? Hot, strong and plenty to go around! Oh, should I warn ya'll it's unleaded?

DebKay~Girl, don't you dare do anything before you finish that passport application today! Miss a chance to have a getaway with dh in St. Lucia? Oh no-no-no! How's your dad?

Ruth~Gee, why does it not surprise me that you've been using your wrist too much? Could it be cause we know you?
Miss Lucy will be great! Any new word on Hershey?

LindaBC~Of course you'll be missed! Have a wonderful time!

Deb~I meant to mention that hopefully our cooler weather will start heading your way. It's wonderfully cool in the mornings and around 80 during the day. We're expecting a cooler front too. Can't wait!

Jennifer~Peeeuuuu! Good luck with your new owners! DH's motto is you've got to spend money to make money! (well, he believes that only in his business-lol) Hopefully your new owners will have the same concept and give some much needed assistance.

More coffee-be right back.

Morning Leenie! You crack me up!

Have much to do this morning helping with the money making business aka dh's! Then dh and both ds's are off to the deer lease for the weekend! Yippee! This evening Susie and Dawn and I will hang out for some much needed girl time. Tomorrow morning a perm and the rest of the weekend will be Mt. Laundry meets Ms. FlyLady. Trying to get everything reorganized (from last trip) in preparation of the surgery and recoup time. Do you know that you can't even drive for at least two weeks? Can't wash my hair? yuck - reason for the perm tomorrow-since I can't blowdry or style either! Monday is eye doctor - Tuesday preop visit and that only leaves the rest of the week to premake dinners, etc.. Anyone want to visit Texas and be my nurse?

Good morning to those who may have snuck in while I posted this novel!

Be back in a bit!

J

Not feeling too well this morning, I seem to have caught my first cold of the season. Slept in till 9 am and you know what that means--the house is totalled courtesy of Miss Miree. For her reward she is staying at daycare all day so I can get the house reorganized! Dh comes home tonight after a 3 day business trip--will be nice to turn the reins over to him and let me sleep. I know you're all awaiting puppy pics but I have to wait for dh to comehome snce he has the digital camera!

Janice have a great girls weekend--you deserve it!

Leenie, my bed looks better in a skirt too!

Deb--fill out that passport application girl!

Ruthie--why am I not surprised? Go figure the doctor would give you trouble for doing too much!

Have a great weekend and happy gobble, gobble to all my Canadian chicks!

Just got back from hospital to visit Dad. He's in a good mood and says he feels fine! Right! Anyway just another dayinthe neighborhood. My arthritis is acting up and I hope it's not the cooler weather. If it is What will I do if it gets cold? Enough complaining. i only lost 1/4 pound this week, but at least it's a loss and not a gain. Still need anothe 1/4 before I get to KLUNK that ole weight down from the 250 to the 200 marker. You will all hear the shouting when that happens.

Good afternoon! This day is just flying for me. Not feeling up to snuff, but I had lots of work to do.

We get DSS all weekend, so I may not get in here a lot. He's such a sweet tooth, I'm trying to get him to eat healthier when he's with us, lord knows his mother isn't teaching him good habits. She once told me that she tries to feed him a "good breakfast, like chocolate doughnuts" I swear that's an actual quote. Now, I've never given birth to any children, so I'm not a parenting expert by any means, but I think feeding children sugar, hand over fist, is not a good habit to form. Am I out of line to try to teach him good nutrition? He's a tiny little thing, but I'm afraid that eventually his sweet tooth will catch up with him and he'll have weight problems, like his mom.

Default Are you sure it's the 11th not the 13th?

Tonight when we got home we found that the backdoor had been kicked in and our house bugularized. They stole all of my "regular" jewelry, the stuff I wear every day. I had it in two small boxex on my dresser and they took both boxes, boxes and all. Then I had several "good" rings. One Alvin gave me for Christmas on year and was too big and gaudy to wear everyday and several more that we had bought fairly cheap at estate auctions. The Biggie is that they stole both mine and Alvin's laptops!!! I sit with mine in my lap all night and I surf the net, chat with friends, and play games while the TV is on. Now it's gone... So what did I want to do instead of computer? EAT!!! Wrong answer, but that's it. So I come into the bedroom and am going to be early!. At least there's no food in the bedroom. All I can say is thank goodness I got my computer at work up and running now.

At least my life is not boring...

Angry Oh Barb!!!!!

God knows (as well as many of my friends here) that dh and I have gone thru sooo many breakins and thefts here that I truly understand what you're experiencing!

There are some things that can be replaced but so much that these thieves truly rob us of. I'm so sorry that you and Alvin are going thru this.

Hang on girl! Get MAD!! But stop the stress EATING!

Texas size hugs going out to you!
