Default Morning L, I'm here!

It's down right brrrr in the deep south. Thanks goodness, I'm so tired of HOT weather. I know I did this whine yesterday.

Janice warm fuzzies coming your way.

Linda, loved the story about your daughter.

peachie...............well, when will you be at Hartsfield??

For those that took the time to sign the bands guestbook, I just want you to know, your messages are posted on bright colored paper all around the band room for all to see. I was in there yesterday after practice, and there they were. I teared up again, quickly turned my head so the kids didn't see. If, by some chance we make Finals tomorrow, I will be a blubbering baby But, I won't be alone. Our chances are very slim, we do not practice year round like many of the bands, we start the last week in July. Cross your fingers for us!

Hope everyone has a great Friday.

Debbie

A quickie update while the bath fills!

Doc put me on Metformin to lower my Blood Glucose levels (BGL) as I have been running high for the last two weeks. The good news is that it is the one drug for Type II Diabetes that does NOT cause weight gain - may even help with loss!

We had only 37 kids here for Halloween last night! I know I have a pissy little pumpkin this year but..... Oh well, next year, I'll decorate more and see if that helps.

Harry and I watched The Rocky Horror Picture Show last night. I still find it as funny as the first time I saw it in the 70s before it became a cult thing. Nope, we did not do the toast thing - I'm cutting carbs.

Miss Lucy cried again last night - she is reverting to babyhood. Hersh and I got up at 3 and let her out - Hersh had a preggy pee too. I am stymied over how to solve this problem! I can't leave juice and crackers beside her bed as I did with my kids who woke during the night.

Janice - your poor boobies! And the other crap! You must be living under that black cloud like Joe Bfitz in the LiL Abner comics!
Keep us posted.

I know I've missed stuff - back later today - bath is ready and then we are off to Obedience class.

TGIF indeed!

WOW, all I did was go have breakfast and here you all are! GOODMORNING!

Mama I hope all goes well today for you and you can get back on track, I feel your pain.....

Ruth I had no Pumpkin...so your crappy one was WAY better

Hi leens, how is Gracie?

Jiff, 250 lbs is incredable!!!!!!

Halloween was a bit of a bust. The door only rang 3 times. The kids brought home more than we started with so I am up to my eyeballs in all kinds of candy.

I did bribe the kids to give me the rest of their candy. I made a trade of some Yugioh cards (the new craze at our school, and older boy has been asked to play in a tourney next weekend, which I know boarders on the really geeky Dundeons and drangons type thing) if they would give me the rest of their candy so they won't eat it. Both snapped it up and so I know it will cost me less in time and trouble than the dentist.

I blew off the gm this am, bad me, but I needed to hang in my jammies this am and pretend to be a princess. I have to go to NYC for a memorial service. I need to go find a suit to wear. It was Moms stepmother. She was 93 and had a good life. But my hick town cloths are not good for how she wants me to dress for NYC. I am thinking Syms. They have designer cloths for little money.

Other than that, life is good, I am waiting to see if older boy's fiend is going to sleepover tonight. I am looking forward to the weekend.

Angry Good Morning

All is cold and snow pending here in Buffalo. Finally got the pellets for the wood stove.....I can take my woolie socks off now!

Deb...I be thinking of the kids tomorrow
Ruth...did you get back to sleep after the pee breaks?

We didnt have any kids last night for halloween, our door is sort of dark even with the lights on. I dont blame the kids for not coming. The grand kids popped by the store before we closed so they could show us their costumes. Just adorable!!! Those were the only 2 trick or treaters all night.
.....good thing I bought candy that neither of us liked! Its still in the bag unopened! Grandkids got the good stuff lol.

Still OP but not feeling like Ive lost anything, that middle section where that zipper thingy is suppose to meet more loosely, it isnt. Im sure its just the impending monthly visit from auntie mae. But Im dreading getting on the scale on monday

TGIF for me means better sales!! (I hope) its been a quiet week, lets hope the snow sparks everyones enthusiasm(need spell check) for shopping for christmas.

Have a great Friday Ladies
Robin

Good frosty morning everyone! We have about 5 inches of snow on the ground. It started last night during trick or treating--Miree was soaked to the skin! I stripped her off at ther friend's house and borrowed some of his clothes so she could go home. Had a nice hot bath when we got home and snuggledup and read a story. She was out like a light in 2 minutes. She did well, enough to have her go the month and that's it. We only got about 12 kids last night due to the weather.

I got her snow suit this morning and had to wrangle to get it. I ordered it from Timmins since they didn't have any in stock here (Zellers) only to have it be a size too small!! Well, after a conversation with the manager, we worked it so I got some snow pant legs from one suit and a coat from another and voila, a suit! She's nice and warm now, dropped it off at daycare as soon as I got it.

Ruthie, can you sticky the Christmas card exchange list? Thanks a bunch hon. And since you're on Metformin now (we don't have the XR in Canada) watch for GI symptoms--very very nasty. I am taking Actos now which is a lot better on the system, only a mild headache here.

Robin, you can have my snow but alas, we are in the same snow belt, aren't we?

L, I begged dh to take Miree to daycare becasue I was just exhausted after yesterday. As it was he let me sleep in till 7:30, what a sweetie.

Now Deb, you've got to keep it all together! You know how teens are--parents getting all mushy and stuff! EUGH! LOL

Janice honey, I'm praying and thinking about you hon--I hope they can fix the mess they've put you in!

Jiff, you're my hero. I could never have lost 250 ppunds, I would lose my whole self so I can totally image what an accomplishment this is! A round of applause!!!

Have a good one everyone!

Ruth, I take two Metformin a day and it sure hasn't helped me lose weight. No bad reactions although I did have a wee bit of a headache at first. It went away though.
No snow here. It's a gorgeous morning. We did have a heavy frost overnight which pretty well finished off all my annual flowers.
We woke up to our water main broken and I only had enough water in the Brita to make one pot of coffee. Peter couldn't wash or shave. I told him I'd heat up some pond water for him but that didn't fly. I went to the swimming pool and had my shower there. Now I see the road crew working just outside our house so I hope they have it fixed soon.
I got on the scale this morning and I really had hoped I'd have lost some weight this first week on Induction but no such luck...BUT...I didn't gain either. That's good news.
I have more painting on the step stool to do today. I'm really not thrilled with how it's turning out but the club is going to be stuck with it no matter what. Maybe I'm just too picky about my own work.
Yesterday I made a good lunch and I have some of it left for today. I just fried up a half onion, chopped green pepper, sliced mushrooms and lean ground beef. I also diced up about two inches of garlic ring and added that. Seasoned with Italian herbs and some fresh parsley. Cooked and stirred until all was brown and tender and then added grated mozzarella and parmesan cheese. I put the lid on for a couple of minutes and let it melt. It was almost like a pizza.
Last night I made one of the cheesecakes from the Atkins friends website. It has a ground nut crust and the filling is very simple. In my blender I whizzed 3 eggs, 1 container of ricotta cheese, 1 package of Philly cream cheese, 1 tsp vanilla, juice of one lemon and artificial sweetener to taste.
The crust was about 1 cup of ground almonds and walnuts, mixed with about 1/2 cup softened butter and baked 30 minutes in a 400 oven. I then let it cool a bit while lowering the oven to 325. Put in the filling and baked for 1 hour. I then turned off the oven and let it sit in warm oven another hour. About 7 grams of carbs per slice not counting the nutty crust. That is probably about another 2 grams of carbs. I had a slice for my breakfast. Not sure if this is something I should have too often though, especially on Induction.

Hi everybody! Didn't mean to be so silent lately. It has been a very FULL week at work, plus getting Cody ready for his big night last night. He went as PeeWee Herman and he looked so cute. He got a lot of laughs out of adults giving out candy. Other kids didn't really know who he was. Cody didn't really know what to think, he felt like a movie star. About 7-8 houses made him wait at the door while they got their husbands/wives etc to come and see. It was funny. I'll post a picture of him later today.

I want to burn all of the leftover candy to the ground. Damn Sugar!! I should change my user name to that! Those are my NICER words to the candy. Ok, I gotta dash again...working late today, so I go in at 3:00, and have an errand to run. I have 75 minutes to shower dress etc and do the errand. Eek!

Talking I'm here too!

Still have this BLASTED headache! But at least I am at work and am functioning okay. Keep making some really bad food choices. Starbucks is soooooo EVIL!! They keep coming in here with guns and making me buy their Chai Tea Latte's and scones and a cookie
lol

The sun is shining today and its around 50 degrees so not too bad of a nice fall day. Going to rent some movies tonight and just snuggle with my honey. So that will be nice, if this headache doesn't go away soon I am going to the doctor and see what's going on just to make sure its not my blood pressure. I think its just my sinus' yuk.

Default hi everyone!!!

still suffering from bronchitis, but it's getting better. can't quite do without my afternoon nap!!!

but what happened before? hmmm started out with a 1 mile plus walk with the dog, then more than an hour of PT for the knee, then manicure, lunch, and shopping. i'd been resisting buying a winter coat. they're expensive, and i have a huge cape that i can wear but it's not very warm, and since i still have a lot to lose, there didn't seem to be much point in spending the money.

BUT... one of my friends told me that i didn't need to end up in the hospital again, and that i had the money and i should just DO IT. ssooooo.... a 30% off sale, plus a 15% off coupon, and VOILA!!! a warm, lined car coat!!!!

now, janice. take it easy!!!! we're worrying about you. and it's starting to look as if you need to be hit upside the head with the chicken purse. not to mention the metal bra, but that might not fit right now...

and L, no matter what you wear, you'll be gorgeous.

and LOVE kids and halloween. so glad they had a great time. we had about 20 kids last night, just the neighborhood. and i sat on the front porch happily giving out candy [yes, in the cold, with bronchitis]. and MOM JOINED ME!!!! she actually talked with the kids AND the adults, and had a great time! she hadn't done that in years.

ruth, is lucy having a sympathy pregnancy or does she know that she's not going to be an only child any more? poor baby. maybe she needs a stuffed animal?

and my heart goes out to you diabetics. it's a tough disease.

and thanks for all the good wishes and cheers on the weight loss. while it's all a good thing, every once in a while i think that if i had had this surgery sooner, i would be at or near goal by now! but, there's no use looking back. these are the cards that have to be played. i don't feel like much of a hero, to tell you the truth. more like a bad example.

linda. can you cook some stuff and send it here? you always have the yummiest meals!

and can you northerners PLEASE keep the snow up there this year??????? pretty please???
