  • L, coffee at Starbucks, sounds very, very good to me!!
I want to thank everyone for their thoughts on the the middle son wanting to stay home for Thanksgiving. Jennifer, no he is not anxiety ridden, just stubborn, I'm 99% sure we will go to Florida, with or without him. After all he is 20, by the time my husband was his age (I'm a year older than hubby) we were married with number one son on the way.

Jennifer, big congrats to Cory on the orange belt.

Sherrie, when I was working, years ago, I had a young male boss tell me I had to choose what was more important my job or my very young son. I had called in because my son was sick, something I never did. Well it upset me so, I could hardly speak, a coworker, who was just pure and simple a b&*^h, blasted him from here to China, he told me how sorry he was. He didn't have children he just didn't understand. Hang in there Miss Sherrie, Tommie is the most important thing in your life, you do what you need to do.

Linda, I ALWAYS go back to the previous daily and read the late posters, so I always read your posts!!!!!

    peachie, LET THE GAMES BEGIN!!!!

    jiff where are you???

Anyone have any idea how long it takes to get a passport? Hubby no longer works for that BIG BlUE company, he now works for a small company. The small company is taking everyone, spouses included to St. Lucia for a Christmas party, weekend getaway. While passports are not 100% required, (you could get by with your birth certificate) they are strongly advised. Hubby has been after me for the past month to get my process started, I just haven't done it. It's been so long for him, I can't remember how long it took.

Okay I have rambled on long enough. Hope everyone has a great day.

    Debbie
  • Good Morning,

Hopefully my boss won't sneak in today, I'd really need an extra dose of welbutrin if she does.

    Did okay eating yesterday......

Today at lunch I need to run out and get a new matress for her crib, the one I have is from my sister and well the dang thing is shot.

I need to get my act together and do some fall decorating outside..... lazy lazy lazy lololol.

Deb I think it takes 2 weeks to get a passport, especially since 9/11 I know it takes longer than usual. Your old boss was a doodie head !! your son or your job, what an @SS(%&# !!! you know people like that will one day get whats coming to them, we may not be around to see it but it does happen.

    Everyone have a WONDERFUL day.

    TTYL, Love Leenie
  • HAPPY HUMP DAY!

Feeling good and stayin op! Not much else to report.

Jennifer ~ Congrats to Cody on his orange belt, he must be so proud

Peachie ~ I need a visual of your snowmen! They sound cute!

L ~ Oh I would love a Venti Carmel Machioto (sp?) Lite on the syrup please!

Debkay ~ I hope your son joins you for Thanksgiving in Florida. A coworker just got her passport earlier this year. They told her 4-6 weeks, she received it in 3 weeks.

Ruth ~ Make sure you take care of yourself and demand a little pampering from dh!

Jif ~ Is everything ok? Miss you girlie!

    Have great op day!
  • Hey, isn't this supposed to be Fall now? It is hot today already! I still have not put away all the summer stuff which is a bonus. I need two complete closets and chests of drawers so I don't need to go through this crap! Maybe I could just move South and avoid the issue.

We are not sure if Hershey is preggers! We may have missed prime time. There do not seem to be preggie tests for dogs so we just need to wait and see. Pooky, you may beat her - if you ever get your bed fixed!

DH had a temper tantrum this morning - not a pretty sight in a nearly 81 year old man! It was justified, I guess, as Lucy pooped on the deck. She hates getting her feet wet on the dewy grass! Picky little pooch! I cleaned it up but we three girls will be tiptoeing around His Imperial Eruption this morning. The dog situation was my idea although he loves them both dearly - just gets to him sometimes.

Today I am stopping the pain killers for sure. I don't like what they do to me. Naps are great but blurry thinking is not. I will take Tylenol as needed - I'm not that much of a martyr.

Off for a nice low cal, low carb Avon Vanilla Creme tubby with a new magazine and my second coffee. See, I do know how to take it easy.
  • Jennifer, Congratulations to Cody on his orange belt I'm glad that your tests are turning out with good news!!!

Linda~~I read your posts, too.How is the FF going?

A quick good morning to everybody. gotta get downstairs and exercise before breakfast. I have some shopping to do today and then a meeting at work later in the afternoon.
  • I finished sewing the bed for my little dog, Shelby. It came out so cute that I wanted to share it. Hope you all don't mind. It's a little bit blurry because I had to resize it from a high resolution pixel.
  • Sil - That is too cute!
  • I bet Shelby feels really ferocious in that animal print! Just adorable! Do you take orders?
  • Sil, what talent! Love it! Thanks for sharing your picture.
  • OH what a cutie puppy!! I LOVE the bed! We're really serious about orders, you know!

Just got back from the biweekly shop--holy canoly Batman, over $200!!! My dh is going to have a cow (more like half of it is inour freezer! ). I know, I just won't tell him and it will go away, right? If 3 year old thinking works for my dd, then it should work for me.

Making headway on the bed drama--dh has one bed post done and 3 more to go--looky that I may actually be off the floor by the weekend!

Better go unpack the groceries, stuff will be melting by now in this heat!
  • Gosh girls i have had a busy morning and have tons still to do.

  • Love that cute dogger bed! You have a real talent there!

Years ago, when I was 8 months PG, Bryan was 15 mo., Melis 3 1/2, I had a boss (I had been at this place 12 years, no less) tell me it seemed that I was making my personal life a priority!!! DUH!!! I found another job when I was out on mat. leave! Some people just don't get it.

    Kel
  • I hate to admit that I used to have a job that I had to enforce the Company policy on absenteeism. Yup, that a$$ you're all talking about used to be me. Luckily we had a generous vacation/sick day package and I could be flexible, but there were some who probably thought I was the "***** from ****". Had one person call me the "Workforce ****". Then I came to my senses and realized that a huge salary isn't much compared to my happiness and family. So I quit. I now work for a small company in a different field that is very family friendly.

Okay, that was probably boring to you, I'm just babbling.

My flu shot has caused a localized fever in my arm. It's not painful, but it looks like a hugh red welt and it's itchy.
If you're watching the weather, we're in for another hurricane. This one will be bad. It's catagory 4 (out of 5). It's headed more for New Orleans than Pensacola, but we will get some of it.

Jennifer - Congrats to Cody. That's a real acomplishment, I never went further than yellow belt in Judo.

L- I'd have loved a French Vanilla Cappucino - Anyone know how many carbs in those?

Deb - St. Lucia? I'm green with envy.

Everyone seems to get so much more done than I do, I need to get organized.
  • Hi Chicks.
2BeFit I just had to post to rave about the darling doggie bed you made and the even MORE darling doggie sitting in it looking like a queen (king?) on a throne. That's so precious.

Dyan I find it very interesting to hear the other side of the story. I bet you just hated being the "enforcer". I had a boss like that once when I was a newlywed and didn't even have any children yet. WHenever he caught me "thinking" (idle, in his exalted opinion), he'd accuse me of sitting around planning menus for my new hubby. God, he was a pr**k! After I had my first baby and went back to work, I made it very clear right at my interview that my baby's needs came first. I really didn't expect to get the job and found out later that I'd really impressed him with my straightforward talk which was why I'd been hired. A great fellow to work for.

Well, did I ever have a lousy night last night! Once in a while (like every few months), I get a bad attack of indigestion and I've finally deduced that it's fruit (specifically apples) that does it to me. Yesterday afternoon I had a huge apple ....much bigger than I'm allowed on FF...and I really enjoyed it too but I was absolutely stuffed from it. Shortly after eating that, I had dinner which was chicken and green beans and tomato/onion salad. I started having terrible cramps in my tummy about 30 minutes after dinner and they got progressively worse through the evening. I only had one Tums and I took that and went to bed, only to wake up at 2 am with terrible heartburn and bile coming up my throat. Not having any Tums, I mixed some baking soda in water (YUK) and guzzled it down. WELL, it was like a volcano down there when the baking soda hit the acid in my gullet. I was up most of the night belching gaseous fumes and my belly felt like there was boulders in it. This morning, as I was getting hubby's lunch packed, I suddenly felt the urge to vomit and boy, did I ever. I think I lost everything I'd eaten since lunch yesterday but it sure felt better. I'm taking it very easy with my meals today and only eating teeny-tiny bites. No more apples for me for a while I think.
Tomorrow is my women's club meeting and I've recently been asked to do our newsletter so that kept me busy most of yesterday. Unfortunately, nobody was home when I phoned them so I don't have too much chit-chat about the various members and their activities. Lucky for me, I have the entire Internet from which to glean information, jokes, recipes, cleaning hints, news items, etc. I even dolled it up with some Thanksgiving graffic art so, hopefully, everybody will be baffled by the glitz and not notice there isn't much substance to it at all.
This Friday I have to take the car in for its first oil change and tune-up. It was brand new last September and it drives like a dream but #2 daughter arrives from Scotland on Monday and she will be wanting to borrow it to visit her pals so I want it in tip-top shape. Hope she remembers that we drive on the right in this country. I'll never forget my terror when we were in Zimbabwe (where they drive on the left side). Peter nearly got us into several accidents. He'd go to turn on the signal light and instead the windshield wipers would come on, smearing road dust all across the windshield. Meanwhile, he'd be turning into the oncoming traffic. Also, the following weekend (Thanksgiving), we will be heading up-country to her friend's wedding so need the car in good shape for that.
Today I had the Coit guy in to clean the worst traffic areas of our carpets. I was really ashamed of the office carpet in particular. Whatever possessed me to choose mushroom color carpets for the bedrooms and the office? I must say, he did a terrific job. There are still some track marks but that's from wear, not dirt. Last year we replaced the hall carpeting with ceramic tile and it was one of the smartest things we've ever done. I really love it, especially with our in-floor radiant heat. It's cool underfoot in the summer and nice and toasty in the winter.
I don't think I'd want it in my bedrooms though, but next time I'll definitely choose a darker carpet....or hardwood. mmmmm
Well, that's all from me for now. Catch you on the weekend, maybe. I still have lots to do to get ready for our girl's visit.
