Somercizers Sept 30th
A new thread for a new week (a really long week!) :)
|
Good morning everybody,
Mauvaisroux, that's great about you fitting into that skirt. I have a dress that I've had for over 10 years. I went to Las Vegas in it once and married my #2 husband in it too. It's a beautiful, expensive dress and it's a size 10. I hope I can get in it again someday. I'm not telling my current DH about the getting married in it part. It doesn't mean anything to me now, just a really nice dress. I got on the scale this morning and I lost another 2 lbs. I just couldn't believe it. I've been looking at that needle of the scale wishing for so long it would go below 260 and now it's at 258, over night. I did something bad last night. I ate a candybar. Oh the shame.:s: I belong to another website, recipezaar. Anyway, they had a food swap and my partner is from Canada, around Niagra Falls. We were suppose to spend around $25 each on local food and then send it to each other. She sent me some wonder things. A cookbook, pepperettes, seasoning, jam, potato chips, dressing, and 5 candy bars. DH already ate 3 of the candy bars, but in the middle of the night, I ate an Aero bar. It was the first time I've eaten sugar in 2 months. I thought, well, I'll never have a chance to eat one again, so I ate it. I've paid for that all night. It tasted good at the time, but I've been sick ever since. I can still taste sugar in my mouth. DH and his brother finished getting the siding up yesterday and I painted 2 sides of the garage. It's going to take 3 coats, which I was afraid of. It started to rain today and they say, it's going to rain til Saturday, so no more painting for awhile. I really wanted to finish this up. Time to exercise, Nikki |
Hi Everyone:
Aleka: Good Luck at WW, I am sure you will enjoy a great loss! Mauvasiroux, belly dancing, how cool is that! That is one excerise I could not do at this point of time. The visuals of my gut would not be a pretty site!! Isn't it great to fit into clothes you could not get into before!!! You just gotta love it. Nikkic you are doing just great. I have put in an order to Amazon for Dr. Aitkens book. I love to read on the Subway I am still on cloud nine from my concert. I can't beleive how great Roger looks after all these years. This guy is 58 and he would put many people in their 30's to shame. The guy is really hot! I am going out on my lunch hour to buy the new Stones release forty licks. I will be attending that concert 2 weeks from Friday! I don't really have a heart throb in that group though, I just the music!:dancer: Anne. |
Hi,
Today was my weigh in day, and I only lost 1.2 lb. :( I was kind of disappointed, because there were 2 days I was starving, and didn't eat because I didn't want to rack up too many points. Hopefully this week will be better.
mauvaisroux, that's terriffic being able to fit into an smaller size skirt :cloud9: Way to go !! Glad you enjoyed your belly dancing class. nikkic, that's fantastic, 2 more lb. :cb: :cp: Is the rain you are having part of Lili? We may see some of that sometime this weekend. Today and tomorrow are supposed to be in the 80's and humid. This is Oct.???:?: ANNE D, glad you are still enjoying the after effects of the concert. It's great to feel so upbeat. Take care and have a great day. Aleka |
Aleka, that is too bad! Are you getting enough points? I know when I went to WW they told us to eat at the high range of points if we weren't losing at the low range, then go back down.
|
Hi Again Everyone:
Aleka: I thought I pass this little trick along to you. When I use to go to WW and someone would lose "only a pound" the instructor would say" go home and pull out a pound of butter and take a look at it." Actually, it really makes you feel good!! I know its hard especially when its the first week but next week you'll probably lose more to make up for it!!! Talk to you all later;) Anne. |
Hi,
Aleka, I know how you feel. I must have went a month on this last stall. Maybe it was only 2 or 3 weeks, but it was a long time. At least your losing. In regard to not eating much, they say at Atkins you need to eat every 6 hours while awake. That way your blood sugar remains level and doesn't spike when you eat again. Supposedly, that can cause weight gain in itself. Speaking of blood sugar, I got some rather scarey and surprising news. My blood work came back today and my blood sugar was elevated. I had fasted for 12 hours and I hadn't eaten any sugar for almost 2 months. It was 129 and normal is 80-112. I go back on Thursday for another test and then meet with the Dr. on Monday to talk about it. I think I know why I feel so much better. I must have been close to comatose when I was eating all that sugar and starch before. I know if I keep losing weight and eating right, my blood sugar will get better. But boy what a surprise. No wonder I'm thirsty all the time. Also, I have a bladder infection. I thought I was going to the bathroom more because I was drinking more water. I never would have had all this done it I hadn't changed my wol. I'd still be eating tons of sugar, not exercising and never have a physical. It really pays to take care of yourself. Talk to you all later, Nikki |
Nikki, I hope everything goes well at the doctor next visit. When will you get the results of that one?
|
I get the results on Monday. I'll let you know what's up. I've been kind of depressed about it all night. Fortunately, I won't have to change my eating habits too much. I don't eat any sugar, bread, potatoes, fruit or high carb veggies. I've limited my intake of cream to almost nothing and I eat 3-4 oz. of cheese a day.
|
Hi there,
Thank you all for your words of encouragement. I will just keep plugging along. I think that this week I'll watch my carb intake a bit more.
We ran out of water this morning, I was in the shower when it happened:censored: We still have water in our well:halffull:, so something must be wrong with the pump. We'll have to call a plumber later this morning to see what the problem is. nikkic, I hope everything goes well for you with your test on Thurs. Please let us know what your Dr. says. Does your Dr. know how you've been eating? Eating this way and losing weight, your blood sugar is sure to drop. Jennifer, The only thing the WW leader said about eating points is to make sure you eat at least to the bottom number, and if you don't, then to stay up and eat until you reach that bottom number. My points are usually somewhere in the middle so that I'm banking 2-3 points a day, which I use sometime during the weekend. That's a good idea about eating at the high range then going back down, because one time my Dr said to mix things up a bit to keep my metabolism from being stuck in neutral. I will try that. ANNE D, your story about the butter reminded me of one time (out of many) I was trying to lose weight, but I was getting weighed at the Dr.'s office weekly. I was disappointed that I had only lost about 1 1/2 lb. He showed me something somebody made for him that resembled a lb. of fat, and it was GROSS. He said you lost 1 1/2 of this. Thank you for reminding me of this, now I don't feel so bad. At least I didn't gain. mauvaisroux, how are you doing? I hope things are going well for you. Take care and have a great day. It's supposed to be in the 80's here today. Than a reality check tomorrow. |
Good Morning All:
Nikkic, I am sorry to hear about your test results. Aleka is right though with your new woe your blood sugar is going to drop. I should really have mine tested too. I have been slacking off with my water consumption and do you know I am starting to feel bloated! It is amazing how much this water thing really works. Aleka, our weather has gone and got hot again too. I am disgusted. My hair looks like ****.:fr: I have not been doing my gazelle lately either, so I better smarten up! Take care everyone. Anne. |
just a note....
Suzanne's site is up and running again. You have to agree to abide by their rules before they'll let you into the discussion boards. It's a lot different. Aleka
|
I popped by the revamped SS site but did not log on. The rules have changed a lot. I never posted there before but did read other people's posts. They seem to not want people posting anything other than diet and SS stuff. Too bad, it seemed to be a good little community that was going there.
Aleka- did you check the rest of it out? If so what was it like? Nikkic-sorry to hear about your blood tests but maybe in a couple of months the levels will have gone down if you stick to your program. Please don't be discouraged. AnneD-it is warm and humid here and my hair is a fright too:eek: Jennifer-how are you doing these days? Thanks for starting the new thread. BTW the site is looking great! :) I am trying to think of something for a new name but I haven't been too inspired... Goodnight Chicks! Mauvais |
Hello, Evil One! I am doing fine. :) However the diet has sucked for 2 days! Went for a treadmill test and nuclear scans of my heart yesterday and they made me fast, then fed me banana nut muffins and Sprite between injection/scan to get it moving! I could have died when they handed it to me. Ohhh, it was good though! Today I had to go back for part 2 (voluptuous ones get to do it twice!) and was told to go eat and be back for the scan. The closest thing was Mc Donalds, so that was breakfast. Grr!
Went back on it this evening. Had a protein smoothie for dinner. Are the rules bad on the SS board? It is hard to keep chatter off the boards, but we don't try to restrict it...it is nice, that makes bonds for support! Yep, it is expensive, but hopefully people visit our flashing sponsors to help pay that bill. Anne, how much did you pay for your Gazelle? |
Hi
We are supposed to start having cooler weather starting sometime today. Right now it's rather gloomy out and it's raining.
We got our water back:cb: It was the pump, which the plumbers installed yesterday.:stress: Jennifer, I hope everything turns out ok with your stress tests. Please let us know how you do. mauvaisroux, the recipe section on the SS board is better than before, I think. Each food is in different threads, like soups, veggies, etc. Even desserts are separated level 1, almost level 1, level 2, etc. I think I would go in just for the recipes. There is a thread though, just for general chit-chat, but the rest is only for SSzing. When I went in, I didn't see too many posts, but that could have changed by now. I love your name, oh evil one, :), it's very original. nikkic, good luck with your blood test today. ANNE D, it's been humid here too, but for some reason when it's humid I have good hair days:?: Hope your weather breaks soon. It's supposed to be more fall like later today. Because of the warmer temps we've been having, our foliage has been delayed for a couple of weeks. We haven't had the frosts to help the leaves to turn. I hope you all have a great day. Aleka |
Hi everybody,
Jennifer, what plan are you following? I really love your website. I do look at adds of places that I like just because I know it helps to pay the bills. I should just automatically do it everytime I stop by. I ran a search on the web for Gazelle and Gazelle by tony Little and what I found was, it's about $199 everywhere, but the s$h will vary. On the Walmart site, they have one that is not as heavy duty for $99. It is made the same, but holds up to 250 lbs. The one for $199 holds up to 350 lbs. The cheaper one doesn't take your pulse for you or have a card to call the tony little place for questions about the gazelle and whatever. I think that stuff is just crap anyway. On the tape, he says to get off the gazelle and take your pulse yourself anyway. So, if you could use the lighter one, that's the one I'd get. They both come with a work out tape. HSN just had 3 extra tapes with the one I bought, but their s&h wasa $7 more than Walmart. They are easy to put together. I did it myself in less than 1/2 hour. I've found everyone is still chatting away on the ss site. But everytime I read something or post, I'm afraid it will disapear. It really is set up for her to promote and sell her products. What they don't realize is it's human to want to talk to each other and get to know what's going on in each others lives. If you try to subtract that, then it's just an advertisement. It's still kind of drizzly here, but it's getting lighter. I sure hope it stops today. I saw on 60 minutes II last night an interview with the Stones and thought of you Anne. Boy are they looking old, but they still sound the same and move good. DH says if they come close, we'll go to their concert. I don't think they will come very close to Iowa though. Aleka, glad your water is back on. Sucks not having it, doesn't it? Mauvaisroux, I'm counting on your imagination to come up with a name for us. Besides low carb eating, what do we all have in common? We're women, we're all on the other side of 40 (I think). Oh, I'm just no good at names. Later, Nikki |
Hi Everyone!
Jennifer I bought my gazelle from our shopping channel. I paid 229.00 Canadian and paid it off interest free over four months. Nikkic: Boy I wish I would have seen the interview! Were they talking to all of them or just Mick? They were here in Toronto for a couple of months ahead of the tour to rehearse. Our press was showing them on T.V. quite a bit and they were so obliging with autographs and such. Before they left they gave a concert at a dance hall on the lakeshore and only charged $5.00 a head. I already had bought my tickets though, besides, you should have seen the lines, I would have never got in as it only seated 2,000 lucky people. I am trying real hard today to drink my water. It's not as easy when the weather is not as hot. Hi Aleka and Mauvaisroux! The weather is cooler here again but its suppose to heat up again Friday so I better make sure I have a good supply of hair gel!!:dizzy: :fr: Talk to you all later. Anne. |
Oooh great, I can probably squeak out 99 bucks! I can count my pulse, and I have no desire to call Tony and I weigh less than 250, so it works for me! I want to watch one more infomercial on it though so I can see it in action again. Thanks for the info!!
|
It's Friday!!!
What a difference a day makes!! We had frost last night!!! It's kind of dreary again. We're supposed to get some remnants of Lili tonight into tomorrow.
DH has gone to Mass. to make a delivery, and I have the morning to myself. AHHHH. We have our own little machine shop in our garage, just me & DH. He does all the machining, I'm the secretary/bookkeeper. Thankfully we get along well. mauvaisroux, OOPS, I misunderstood you before. But, since you came up with your original name, I'm sure a name for our group will come to you. You seem to be very talented in that dept. ANNE D, I too have a hard time drinking water. Can you find any fruit flavored water, or even fruit flavored sparkling water made with sweetener? When I started WW, the leader said any sugarless beverage, except for anything with caffiene would do, but to drink at least 3 glasses of regular water. We buy Fruit/20, that is made with Splenda that I absolutely love and it goes down a lot better for me than water. nikkic, I don't know if I'll ever post on the SS site again, but will go in to check out the recipes. I found a pancake recipe there that's easier than the one in the cooking contest cookbook and a omelette recipe. I've been to the site 2 more times and each time I had to agree to their rules to get to the boards. I don't know if it's just my computer, or if everyone has to agree to their rules everytime they go in. On our new computer, DH & I have our own personal internet settings, and when either one of us is through we have to log off so the other one can log on. Very weird at first, but I've got the hang of it. If I don't post over the weekend, I wish you good luck at the Dr. on Monday. Please let us know how you make out. Take care and have a good day and a great weekend. Aleka |
Good morning,
Aleka, did you buy a Gateway? That's the same way our computer starts. It does take awhile getting use to it. If you don't want to have to go through agreeing everytime on the ss site, I found out that if your on the page with the list of forums (or any page after that), mark that as your add to favorites or bookmark it. I don't blame you for not posting anymore, I'm not too happy with it either. Still, there is this little group that I post in and it was really great talking to all of them again. As for the rest of it, I've just been reading and will probably do the same as you. Another drizzly, icky day out. I haven't exercised in almost 4 days. Something was always getting in the way. Today is the day to start again for me. Get on the Gazelle and go. I find watching Tony Little is motivating because I'm competative. I think if that arrogant, sexist, spoiled dork can do it, then so can I. :p Anne, they interviewed all of the Stones and went on their jet. They even showed Micks daughter, she looked just like a regular teenager. They all seem like nice people, especially Mick. I just couldn't get over how old they looked. I've changed guys diapers in the nursing home that looked younger. It reminds me that I'm getting older too. :o Later, Nikki |
If you want to see old, look at this week's Rolling Stone. Keith Richards is on the cover, topless, and he looks 20 years older than he really is.
|
BTW, not that there is anything wrong about growing old, he just looks so much older than he should be. I guess it was all the drugs.
|
If Keith and Mick are old, what am I? Remind me never to appear topless anywhere. ROFLOLPIMP!
|
PIMPLOL!! Good one Ruth.
I'm sure they look a lot older because of the life style. I've seen a lot of guys that age that look a lot younger than they do. I wasnt' really surprised at Keith, but I was with Mick. I just sat there with my mouth hanging open. He isn't old enough to look that old. I think he's only 10 years older than me. Oh dear. They said Mick has worked out for months getting ready for this tour. His body looks great, skinny and muscley too. When they asked Keith what he does to get ready, he took a drag off his cigarette and said,"Show up." I get a kick out of him. Anne, isn't tonight the night? I don't think you'll post til Monday, but have a good time. Wish I was with you. The Stones are one of my favorite groups. Their music is great and I like them as people too. Nikki |
Hi Everyone!
Nikkic, I go on the 18th of October which is a Friday night. I am so excited. The stones really do look old. It must be something in the genes with Mick, I know when he was young he experimented with drugs but he has not been a substance abuser for years and years. Of course Keith is quite a drinker as is Ron Wood and those two guys still smoke and I know Mick doesn't. It really killed me when I saw The Who. They are the same age as the stones but have held up way way better in the looks department. I'm not knocking Mick though, he can out dance me any day of the week:lol: What can I say I just love these guys.:dancer: :cloud9: Anne. |
Evening everyone:wave:
Busy weekend, went to dinner with DH and about 10 of our friends for his birthday and had yummy Thai food:T Then went to a wedding reception on Saturday night and a bridal shower on Sunday afternoon. I need an extra day off to get some rest:lol: Ummm...think I'll pass on that Rolling Stone Cover of Keith Richards:p Can anyone understand what that man is saying when he speaks? Imagine him and Ozzy Osbourne in a room together having a conversation...they would have to supply us with subtitles:lol: Hey, I'm 35 and I bet Mick could out dance me anyday! I am going to try to exercise in the mornings this week since can't seem to do it at night. Wish me luck! Goodnight! Mauvais P.S. Aleka what did you misunderstand? Something I said:?: Did I miss something? |
Good morning all,
I hope you all enjoyed your weekend. It's fall like now, and I heard we are supposed to get a hard freeze tonight. Last week it was in the 80's and a bit humid, and now they are talking about a freeze!:?:
mauvaisroux, when you mentioned something about thinking about a new name, I thought you were talking about your user name. I had forgotten we were trying to come up for a new name for our little group. How is the morning exercise going? I've been doing Leslie Sansone's Walk Away the Pounds w/weighted balls video. I'm doing the 2 mile walk with the balls, and to mix things up a bit I may try the 3 mile walk without the balls every other day. It sounds like you did have a busy weekend. ANNE D, I agree with everyone that the Rolling Stones look so old is their lifestyle. Even at the age that they are, they still have a lot of energy. Sometimes Mick wears me out just watching him. nikkic, have you gone back to exercising on the Gazelle? We bought a Dell computer. I've gotten used to everything except the keyboard. It's smaller than the old one and my fingers keep hitting the wrong keys:headache: Have a great day everyone! Aleka |
Hi everyone,
I've been painting on the garage almost everyday. Right now, I'm taking a break from it. It's taking 3 coats and almost looks like it could take another one, but I'm done after 3. I have one side done, the front lower half is done (dh is suppose to do the top) and the other side is almost done. The back is not started. I want dh to do the top, before I do the bottom. Then the foundation and hopefully, I'm done. I'm still exercising. Except yesterday, I overdid it and then trying to paint was aweful. My muscles felt like they were quivering. I did some upper body/arm weight training in the morning. Note to self, never lift weights and then try to paint. I also do the gazelle and the abdoer. Trying to get this stomach to look less than 9 months pregnant. Jennifer, I read somewhere that you had your apron removed. I saw this procedure on the health channel and I was wondering, do they have to cut all the way around your back too? That's what they did to the woman on that program. I'm hoping I won't have to have this done, I probably wouldn't be able to afford it anyway. Aleka, when I bought this computer, I wish I had someone to talk to about Gateway products. I have had a lot of problems with it, and after talking to others, it seems a lot of people have. I also have problems with the "support" part. When I have problems and try to contact them, it's never helpful. Looks like a lot of people like Apples. Does anyone have one? Break time is over, Nikki |
Good Evening All:
I have a dandy week coming up with my mothers 70th birthday on Friday followed by thanksgiving on Monday! Nothing but temptation as far as the eye can see. I am starting this week by giving myself a big pep talk, I really don't want to go into "release":stress: I have been limping around these last two days, I think I have a little tendonitis in my right foot. 245 is alot of weight for this little footsie of mine to be lugging around!! Happy Mondays done, I will talk to you all Tuesday! Anne. |
Just a quick note-I got a notice in the mail today from lab and my 2 hour glucose tolerance test was ok so I'm ok. I was thinking about that first blood sugar test. I remember the night before was when we ate at that Chinese restaurant and it was the first time I'd eaten any carbs-rice and noodles-for quite awhile. So probably my body was holding on to the sugar. It was over 15 hours between eating and the test, but it must have been that.
|
Hi everyone!
Today was my weigh in day and I lost 2 1/2 lb. That more than made up for last week.
nikkic, that's fantastic news about your bloodwork. You must've been relieved that everything was ok. What did your Dr. say? We haven't had any problems with Dell's support system. After DH wired up the computer, he was having a problem with the scanner. He called Dell and the tech. discovered that the old scanner wasn't compatable with the new computer, so he sent something to us to download so that the scanner would work. We have been very pleased with Dell. I'm sorry you are having so many problems with the supporters for your computer. I would think they would strive to have a great support system so that people will keep buying their computers. ANNE D. oooh, you must be in a lot of pain. Keep putting ice on it, it helps. I had tendonitis in my right elbow and had to go to OT for a few months. It was so bad I could't lift a coffee cup. The pain has been under control for a couple of years. Stretching helps it too. Hi mauvaisroux  Hope you are having a good day. Take care and have a great day. Aleka |
Good evening,
Aleka, good for you. I'm glad to hear your losing weight. It always feels good to see the needle on the scale move or number if it's an electric one. I didn't talk to the Dr. She was sick and since the blood work was ok, I just figured I'd talk to her at the end of the month. I have to see her about something else then. Anne, how's your foot? Where is the pain at? I had a problem a few years back with the muscle that runs under the arch of my foot. My heel was also painful. I went to a podiatrist and she gave me a shot of cortisone in there, ouch! Then she wanted to have an arch built for my shoe, it was really expensive. I said no thanks and went to Walmart. They have these inserts you put in your shoes that cup your heels and support your arch. It takes a few days to get use to, but it completely relieved my pain. Prior to that, I could barely step down on my foot. I don't know if this is the same thing for you, but if it is, you might try it. bye for now, Nikki |
Good Evening Everyone!
Well I sure read lots of great news!! Nikkic I am so glad your blood work came back ok. I am sure you are quite releived!! Aleka, 2 1/2 pounds!:cp: Thats just super, I am so happy for you. Nikkic the pain in my foot is directly below my ankle bone and it runs along to my baby toe. It really smarts. No swelling or redness though thats why I think its a tendon. I had a heel spur back a few years ago and that was nasty business as well. Sometimes I am walking fine other times I feel myself limping a bit. I still try to exercise by walking around on my lunch hour. My stride is rather slow at the moment. Talk to everyone Wednesday. |
Anne, that sounds like the same problem I had recently. My pain was mostly in my heel but stretched along the side. Turns out I was just in the beginning of tendonitis. I would definitely get it x-rayed soon. I went to my Chiropractor because I could get in the same day. He x-rayed and said all the bones were fine. He told me to
1. Buy New Balance tennis shoes. 2. Go to Athlete's Foot and buy SOF brand insoles. Wowee, they feel good. You stand on a pad and a heat sensor reading comes on the screen and the sales associate will tell you which style of insoles to buy based on where the pressure lies in your stance. 3. I went to him twice a week for electrode therapy on my foot, and that was a big pain reliever!! Felt so good each time. He also told me no more barefoot walking. I have been doing good for a while now, and I got lax on the barefoot thing and woke up with a stiff foot the other day. I hope you start to feel better soon! |
Hi Guys, I don't know if you read the Sticky on the low carb forum or not. Suzanne wants to see a show of hands to how many Somercizers we have posting (or just lurking!). We might add a Somercizing forum to the low carb forum.
Thanks! |
Jennifer, I saw it, but since I'm not strictly ss'ing anymore, more of a combo with Atkins, I didn't respond. In fact, I'm thinking about Schwrzbein for later when I've lost more weight.
PS-what you told Anne about your feet sounded good. I was told no barefoot walking too. But I'm a natural girl and still go around barefoot. I haven't had anymore pain, but my feet are like cast iron! |
Good Evening Everyone:
I am on the hunt for new balance tennis shoes. Thanks for all the great tips Jennifer. Our feet are important and man do they let us know it when they are not happy!! I am guilty about walking barefoot around the house. Nikkic, how are you finding Atkins plan? Do you find it more difficult than Somercizing? We are enjoying great weather here these last few days, I hope it keeps up for our holiday weekend. Hi Aleka! hope everything is going well. Anne. |
Good morning everyone,
We are having on and off showers this morning. We still do need the rain.
I'm off to my weekly lunch & shopping spree with a friend. We're eating at Chili's today. Each week we eat someplace different. Jennifer, I'm not strictly Sommersizing either. I'm going to WW and just following the principles of SSzing. No sugar, no fake fats, and eating real food. ANNE D, I've been wearing New Balance walking shoes for years. I absolutely love them, they are so comfortable. I also have to wear special insoles in them because I have plantar fascitis (sp?) in my left foot. Glad you are having good weather. nikkic, how is your Atkins/Sommersizing coming along? I've looked at Schwarzbein, and she does have some good points. She doesn't believe in food combining, and thinks you should have something from each food group when you eat. That is a good plan for maintenance, I think. Hi mauvaisroux, I hope all is going well with you. Take care and have a great day. |
Ok then, I don't guess a Somercizing forum is necessary! ;)
|
Hi everyone,
I've been painting again today. I knocked over the paint can and spilled 1/2 gallon on the ground. I was so frustrated I could have thrown the rest too. Anyway, I have to put one more coat on the backside and then it's done. Now DH is working on the shed and wants to paint it too. This is what I been eating- Breakfast-3 mornings a week bacon and eggs The other 4 mornings I drink an Atkins shake. I don't really like breakfast and this is the easiest for me. Lunch-Meat of some kind, a low carb veggie or two or a salad Supper- same as lunch Sometimes I drink a shake for lunch too, if I'm really busy and don't want to cook or waste time. For a snack, I might drink a 1/4 cup of cream (I really like it like this but it may sound yucky to someone else) or I'll eat a veggie. Sometimes an Endulge bar or sugarfree popsicle. I haven't really been counting carbs, so I'm not exactly doing Atkins. But I'm eating low carb and not stuffing myself, so I know I'm not eating too many. I've found lately that I don't eat as much as I use to. In fact, I never finish my meal. I take a regular portion, but before I'm done I feel full and quit. I use to be able to pack away enough for a family of four every meal.:o This is a new thing for me. Anne, I think if I was counting carbs, Atkins might be harder than ss'ing. I suppose you get use to it after awhile, like when I've counted calories in the past. I find I'm not too concerned with food anymore, I eat to get energy but I'm not eating for the wrong reasons, like to feel better or for comfort. I haven't exercised in a few days. I think I'll jump on the gazelle for awhile. Aleka, I hope you found some wonderful things when you went shopping and had a good time. Talk to you all tomorrow, Nikki :D :D :) :) |
