Morning Chickies...... what? No coffee?!?!?!:fr: Oh well, I'll just have to get my butt downstairs and make some!

Sue .. I'm so sorry you got called to go in to work today. Is the supervisor training only today? Can you do it some other day? That other girl sounds kind of like one who works with me - she wanted to be home with her kids over the summer (understandable, but still... ) so she gave her hours away! School started, she wanted them back, and the he## with those of us who worked those hours! NOW she wants to work again, so we're out of luck ... see why I looked for another job?? (not to mention the BIG difference in pay AND eligibility for health insurance!! :jig: ) You're right tho -- they ARE darn lucky to have had you there to back her up! I certainly hope that they appreciate you and all that you do for the residents!

Pooky, any time that you feel the need to garden - you are MORe tHAN welcome to come on down here and work in my (non-existent) garden! I'd love to have one, but I have a very black thumb! Every plant that I look at, dies!

Jif.. I'm so sorry that things aren't a whole lot better for you at work. This is no solution, but maybe a little diversion: lunch at the 2nd Ave Deli sometime soon??????? Sounds really good to me - unless, of course, you prefer the Texas BBQ again???? whadyasay? huh? huh? huh?

Peach.. if Dottie doesn't need the help in her kitchen, I certainly do in mine!!! Still haven't decided what to do with the walls!

Barb... hope the meeting with your siblings and folks went well .. I know what a stressful time this can be. Just please remember to take a little bit of time for yourself - you not only NEED it, you definitely deserve it!!

Ruth.. I hope your wrist is doing even better today! Your recovery is just amazing! But I agree with whoever it was who said that you should at least PRETEND to not be doing so well!

Mamaj.. hope you're enjoying your trip..... I hope it is relaxing and restful and enjoyable!

Leens..... boo right back to you!

Well, I'm gonna go start the day...... we have tickets to today's final game of the season at Shea..... my Mets have gone down the tubes this year, but Sherrie, JUST YOU WAIT TIL NEXT YEAR!!!!! have a good one everybody!

Just popping in before the Great Unveiling! My nurse friend Claire is going to remove the bandages later this morning - they said 48 hours but it will be more like 46.

Still no major problems except when I forget I have had an operation. I'm taking my pain pills on a full tummy before it spikes, taking the anti-biotics on an empty tummy and working in my extra vitamins and lots of water in between. Sheesh! It's like a whole new career!

Our furnace died last night (first time on this fall) and the Repair Lad came with his wife! They were on their way to a party when he got the call. She was a sweetie named Rose who sat and drank herb tea with me until about 9 while The Lad fixed the furnace. This morning the darn thing is still not working perfectly so there will be another call. I hope they didn't drink too much at the party! (Hmmm - the blower/fan is the problem. I wonder if the AC Lad goofed. Hmmmmmm.)

Hey - new jobs, new kitchens, crafts, days alone, trips to SC or is it NC? Things sure happen in here.

:goodvibes

Another beautiful day here, clear deep blue skies, makes you hate to come into the house!

DH got home from his mom's late last night- she's all squared away, feeling well and able to drive- that was important for us to know; could she get herself to the grocery store and to drop off the laundry, etc. Seems to be okey-dokey for now. Whew...

Not much going on. I am just at the step in this kitchen where I could really use all of you- the technical stuff is done(plumbing, electric, carpentry) and it's time to pull down the old wallpaper and prepare the walls and prime and paint and all that time comsuming stuff. So Peach, no stenciling, but you could paint some trim. Jiff, scrape wallpaper. Lets see, a one handed job for Ruth, how about pouring the iced tea? Pooky, have you ever used one of those glaze finishes? Get busy. And the rest of you can start to paint the ceiling. No drips on the floor, please!

I am roasting a turkey breast and making a big pan of baked ziti for DH's dinners for a few days- then maybe off to shop with sis.

Thinking of you all, wish I could come south!

POOKY: what a wonderful idea., but already in the works is a weekend off for Alvin & I. we are going with his sis & BIL to an antique flea market that they have near Austin twice a year. We've never been, but they say it's worth the trip. And I have us reservations at the Embasy Suites ( us in on suite, inlaws in different one) Two rooms, 2 TV, data port, indoor pool, fitness center, free cooked breakfast, and free coctail hour nightly All for 50 bucks a night. Am i a good bargin shopper or What??? Any way I need it.

So here it is Sunday afternoon and I'm hard at work, will probally be here all day, and into the night. Needless to say we didn't finish up the move, but what I'm doing today is the work we didn't do Friday and Sat. because we were moving.

I did much better wtih my food yesterday, and so far today has been strickly OP, of course the day isn't over and there's still a box of GS cookies here on my desk!!!

The talk with my family went better than I expected, but then las night my mom fell and hurt her hand. Not sure if it's broken or just sprang yet, will let you know later.

Well I need to get back to work. Wil check in the next time I get a change.

Hello everyone! The room from h*ll is clean as a whistle. She was so excited to find some of her old favorites, she didn't even notice that most of the junk is gone! And, I got a big hug and a "You did all this for ME???" Sometimes being a mom is great!

I'm tired, tired, tired. Hardly did anything today, but ready for a nap or a really early bedtime. Hope you all did something fun for yourselves this weekend! Talk to you in the morning.

Three cheers
Hurrah for Ruth's wrist getting better
Hurrah for Samsgrandma's new job (what is the job anyhow?)
Hurrah for Dottie's kitchen.
Oh, and another hurrah for Peachie's bears. You're putting me to shame, Peach. I'm supposed to be painting pansies on a wooden step stool for my club's Christmas raffle but I haven't even started. It doesn't have to be ready until mid-November but that's no reason to procrastinate. Aw, what the heck. Sure it is. ;)
I'm getting excited about #2 daughter's upcoming visit. In one week from tomorrow my baby girl will be home for 8 days. It's been a whole year since I visited her and her hubby in Scotland. She hasn't seen her Dad in nearly two years!
I guess I should get busy and start getting the guest bedroom (also my sewing and craft room) ready for her.
Cool and windy here today but dh managed to get the lawn mowed finally. Hopefully just one or two more mows and he'll be done for the season. I still have bulbs to plant and more garden cleanup to be done.
I haven't been too OP lately so today I've been trying very hard to stay on track. Devil, stay away from my door!
Very difficult when I just baked a lovely Plum Streusel Kuchen for dh's snacks and lunches. (sigh) Why do I do this to myself? :?:
Well, that's all for now. I've so enjoyed reading all the posts. My heart goes out to everyone in difficulty and I rejoice with everyone who has good news. You're such a terrific bunch! :grouphug:
