I love early morning exercising. Great way to start the day! Today, however, I will be doing a 5:45 pm class at the gym. It is a 20/20/20 class -- twenty minutes each of step, kickboxing and toning. Great class with the instructor who I think is the best at the gym.
Catching up with e-mails now and will be diving into work soon. I am a freelance writer/editor.
I hope everyone is having a great beginning to their week.
Sue, you are up way to early....I bet you (and I) would feel a whole lot better if we went back to sleep instead of exercising...not that I am even entertaining the thought of exercising though...the air is un-healthy outside around here....that's my story and i am sticking to it!
BE CAREFUL!
more coffee, please!?
peach
ps...Myra! You snuck right in there on me! HEY! you be careful too this early morning!!!! 5:45 kick boxing class? I can barely lift myself off the computer chair to get myself some coffee!!!
No, that's PM today. Tomorrow, however, I am taking a 6 AM compound training (boot camp) class. I love the 6 AM classes. They wake me right up and make me feel great and ready to take on the day. After the work day it is hard to get these bones moving.
It's a civic holiday here in Ontario so that means a nice long weekend! I spent yesterday being a sloth--refused to do any sort of housework whatsoever so that means today I am going to be busy.
Tomorrow is my grandma's birthday--78years young and is still far too busy for words! Miree and I are going to visit for the day tomorrow and give her birthday kisses.
and how are those early birds??? have you all stopped moaning and groaning and have you gotten enough caffeine??
and peachie is right [do you want me to say that louder, sis??? PEACHIE IS RIGHT!!!! did that feel better???]
it's 87% humidity and 80 degrees [roughly 27 for you metric folks] and too much ozone. so, i'm entertaining myself by running up and down the stairs, doing mom's laundry. the cats are fed. and maggie and i are on the deck. she misses mom something fierce. she's not even eating most of her dinner! but believe me, she's just fine.
i finished the chicken wings last night, tossing maggie the skin. she was happy. so was i. such a wonderful day!!!
today, it's off to the body shop to arrange for the repair work on mom's car. and then work.
the teenagers who live caddy corner behind us are old enough for their parents to leave them for weekends. so you all know what that means!!! the first party was awful!!! kept us awake, and several of the neighbors.
the next-door folks, who seem to have appointed themselves the neighborhood guardians [they're young, they have energy] told the kids that parties are one thing, but annoying the neighbors will pretty much end their fun. we complain.. police get involved... parents get angry.
fortunately, these kids aren't stupid.. so the last couple of parties have been not bad.. a little noisy until around 10, and then it drops right off, and stays quiet. problem solved!!!!
hope ya;ll have a great day, and happy BD to pooky's grandma... and hugs and kisses to all the little ones.
and to myra... hope you had a great day!!! now, just don't hurt yourself...
I am starting to glisten just listening to chicks talking about the dreaded E word! It is way too hot to breathe here, let alone move! (Did I mention our AC is broken?)
I've not been doing much after Saturday's stupid burst of work in the garden. After Church yesterday I sat on the deck for the rest of the day and read a Nora Roberts pocketbook - not my usual type of book but it kept me out of trouble. The relatives from the Island are coming again late this morning so I need to get out and pick more beans to foist on them and that will be it for the day. I just might go to the Office to write some cheques in AC comfort after lunch if it stays this hot! It is supposed to cool down a bit by Wednesday but I think the weather people just say that to make us feel better. (Did I mention our AC is broken?)
The Girls spent most of yesterday lounging in their wading pool. Lucy gets cooled off and then sprints around the garden enticing Hershey to chase her. Then back into the pool with muddy feet! I must get some pictures of the shenanigans!
Hope everyone has a keep cool day. I thank God for Indian cotton shirts these days! (Did I mention our AC is broken?)
Good Morning Ladies
I've just been catching up on all of your weekend posts. It sounds like the NY Chicks had a wonderful time together
Linda~~You can put me down for a PEAR.
Ruth~~Is you AC broken?
Sue~Good for you on sticking with your exercise. I have slacked off the past week, but you inspire me to get my a*s in gear
Hey, can you guys send some of that cooler weather down South please?
Update on my German friend~~She and her kids are back in Germany getting ready for school. Her husband will join them in 2 weeks. Her little boy (4yrs) now refuses to speak German. He's very angry Her DH came over yesterday and gave me Renata's garden bench. It is so beautiful, I wish that she could have taken it with her. But it is a wonderful reminder of her. She also wants me to take all the plants that are on her deck. I still miss her
Good Morning all........ wow! what a bunch of early chicks! I guess I should have started the daily when I was up at 4 AM, then I wouldn't feel like such a slug now!
Mpinkham... even just reading about the excercise classes you take is waaaaaay too exhausting for me!!
Peach... you are soooooooo right!!! As for that coffee, make mine iced cappucino!!!
Pooky... I hope you have a great visit w/your grandma tomorrow - have you taught Miree how to give her butterfly kisses?
Gosh Jif... those kids sound like my supposedly grownup neighbors!!! Last summer, 3 or 4 of us had to call the police at about 4AM - they were STILL going strong, and getting even LOUDER!!! (not to mention making 7-11 runs for more beer!) - to add insult to injury, we didn't have A/C, the wind was blowing in just the "right" direction and they were smoking cigars!!!!!
Ruth... please take those pictures and post them...the girls sound like they're really enjoying that pool! And btw - why are you glistening? don't you have a/c
Sil...we tend to forget how hard things like this are on the little ones. Poor little guy. I'm so glad you have the plants and bench - they will be constant reminders of happy times with your friend.
Morning Everyone!! I didn't get a chance to make it in this weekend. Saturday was busy and yesterday I was just in such a *issy mood, I decided not to inflict it on any one! SHDH scored again with his noncommunication of info troubles. Saturday morning as he is leaving for "work" I hear him rattling his golf clubs. I being the curious one said,"What's up"--He being the caught one said, "I'm golfing in a tournament today." Hmmm...Oh??? Of course he claims he's told me this. I just turned back over in bed and said Whatever! Anyway, after cleaning house DS and I decide we should do something fun too then. We went and saw the movie "Signs". Wow!! What what a great movie! It was scary, funny, sentimental and even throws in thoughts on a person's faith. It would be too scary for younger kids, but there were 111 people (DS counted ) at this matinee and they were all ages from like DS at 16 to middle age to on up from there. Anyway, after the movie DS and I head home, it is about 4:00--we think that since SHDH left so early for this little golf get together he will be home. No, of course not. About 5:00 I start making overtures toward making supper--we are supposed to be grilling ribeyes and DS and I are salivating at the thought of it. I call DH's cell--no answer--of course it is in his truck. So, I wait til about 5:30 and call a friend whose husband organized this tourney. "Oh, didn't SHDH tell you--there's a dinner and prizes at 6:00". DS and I ended up with leftovers for dinner and played Scrabble. SHDH walks in about 8:30 (a bit schnobbled) and can't understand why we might be miffed??? No one begrudges him the chance to golf, but a little info and consideration goes a longgggg way.
Gee, I guess I'm still in a *issy mood today.
After lunch my friend and I are going over to help apply the faux finish we decided on for our other friend's basement. That should improve my humor. DS and their 2 sons (classmates of his) are going to go and golf provided it doesn't rain. It is SUPPOSED to cool down--yeah right!
Ruth, hope the AC people come soon--you did mention that your AC was broken didn't you????
Sil, I picked up the "The Fat Flush" book on Sat. Isn't it you that was talking about. I am only part way through it, but I am seeing a lot of the stuff she is talking about in my own weight troubles. That bench will be a wonderful reminder of your friend. Hope things go better for her soon.
Annie~~ Two things:
1) Yes, it is me trying the Fat Flush Plan.Today is my 4th day. All last week I spent reading the book and starting to incorporate many of the things in her plan, especially cutting down on the caffeine & sugar/sugar substitutes and increasing drinking the cranwater, using flax seeds and oil, etc. There is a section under Diet Plans here at 3FC's where some of are also posting about this plan.
I'm going to do this for the 2 weeks per the book, and if it's working well i might extend it another 1-2 weeks before adding in more foods.
I don't have too many pounds to lose so I'm not sure how fast I'll lose. But I have maintained my weight all last week between 126-127 . I started the plan 100% last Friday and today I weigh 125, and I feel better and lighter.
Let me know what you think.
2) I would have grilled the ribeyes and enjoyed every bite
