Hi guys!
I was wondering what you would say about the whiskey. I did hear that it had no carbs since it isn't made with sugar, and since it's my favorite alcohol, I figured it's ok just once a month or so. Mauvaisroux, how neat your DH is working on a cookbook. You sound like a very out going couple. DH and I are the opposite, we have a lot of friends, but we live in the country and not a lot of people come out here. We use to go visit them in the town he is from, but this last year or so, we've really been house bound. It's funny, we love being alone and love being together. I am really lucky. Aleka, we spend a lot of time in the garage too. DH is restoring his old 49 Chevy truck and we are out there a lot. I don't do much, just supervise and sometimes put his tools away where he cann't find them. Hi Anne and Jayaredee. I have lost 9 pounds! I am so happy. At first I was gaining weight, so I was a little anxious about this woe. I am exercising everyday and really getting a handle on my thoughts. I believe the power of positive thinking (sounds like a book title, huh?) is so important in all aspects of your life. I've developed positive affirmations for myself that I repeat in the morning and the night. I feel I am moving towards those goals. I want to lose 100 lbs in a year and I know I can, now that I have the tools this woe has given me. It is hard to be patient, I want to be thin now. But I look on the ss website and see other people who were my weight a year ago and look at their weights now. I think if only I had started then, I would be there now. Well, like they say, the only thing you can't change is the past. I am looking forward to being one of those thinner people in a year and feeling healthy and strong. I already feel so much better, I can't believe the difference. I don't know if we are going to go camping or not now. It's not just the weather-Rain, rain, rain. They found a sick bird in that area with west nile virus yesterday. It kind of puts a damper on going into the woods. I always use a lot of bug repellant, in fact you can smell it on me the next day. I haven't gotten a misquito bite in years. I guess we'll think about it a bit more now. I hate to give up our little trip, though. I could be bit in my yard too, I guess. We are outside a lot at night. I hope this misquito virus thing is somehow brought under control. Guess I'll leave it up to God. Take care everyone, Nikki |
Hi Everyone!!
My crazy internet has not been working well it has been crawling:( My weight stayed the same when I got weighed on Saturday. I reminded myself that I have taken off 9 pounds in two weeks so..... I wasn't too disappointed. Our weather is alittle cooler not much though. By Thursday we will back in the 90's again P U  I am going to incorporate more exercise this week though I walk alot everyday on my lunch hour at work:sheep: Nikkic! nine pounds in one week:cp: How awsome is that!! Tonight I had two all beef paties with melted cheddar, brocolli, and great coleslaw. Anne. |
Edited - just removed some unpleasantness!:censored:

Anne! I was wondering where you were. Do you still use your Gazelle? I am going to reward myself with either that or the knockoff from QVC when I lose my first 25 lbs. The one from QVC is only $121 but it must not be made as well. The Gazelle can handle 350 lbs. and the cheapo 250 lbs. I will probably buy the cheaper one, anything I've bought from them has been good except for the Nutrisystem food I got once. And that really sucks a lot. Anyway, I have to get to 250 so I can get one.
Well, must go and slave in the kitchen. Making brats for supper with saurkraut, coleslaw and string beans. Not really much slavery, just have to make the brats really. I'm going to make the peach sorbet from Suzannes dessert book tonight. I have a new ice cream maker and I'm loving it. I found a great homemade ice cream recipe. It even stays soft in the freezer like store bought. If anyone wants the recipe, I'll post it. Even my skeptical husband said it was very good. Later, Nikki |
Hi everyone!
Nikkic that ice cream recipe sounds good! Is it hard to make? If you don't mind posting it that would be great:) Your are right about DH and me we are always doing things together, with friends and family, I think I need and extra day off on the weekends just to recuperate:lol: I am making "Swine Wine" chicken tonight. Swine Wine is a pork marinade that I bought at our local hot sauce store but it is just as delicious on chicken. It is made by a company called Crazy Jerry's based in Rosswell, GA. The label claims that there is 5 calories per 1tsp and 0gfat, 0g carbs, 170 mg of sodium and 0g protein although it does have some corn syrup in it, oh well:rolleyes: nothing is perfect. Also Arizona gunslinger Jalepeno hot sauce as well as Crazy Jerry's Devil's Brew (garlic hot sauce) are favorites around my house. Hi Anne D, Aleka and Jayardee-hope you all had a good day today! Talk to you all later! |
Hi everyone, thought I'd check in and see how everyone is.
Jayaredee, You crack me up. I thought I was stubborn. I hope we never disagree! Mauvaisroux, your making me hungry. I just love hot sauces, but not too hot. I like to be able to taste the other flavors in the dish and not feel like my mouth is on fire for an hour or longer after I've eaten. We have a new Mexican restaurant in a town not too far away. All of the food is fabulous. I have not eaten anything even close to hot there, but it is definiately delicious. They are all from Mexico, even the waiters. Here's the recipe for the ice cream. I found it on the ss website, it is not one of Suzannes. It is so easy and so good! Homemade Vanilla Ice Cream 2 1/2 cups cream 1/2 cup sugarfree syrup (davinci vanilla) 3/4 cup splenda 1/4 cup fructose 2 tbsp. vanilla 3 eggs Mix all together with a mixer and put in ice cream maker. I know, the eggs are raw. There are some now that are suppose to be irradiated or something to make them safe. I just wash the eggs well and have never had any problem. I suppose you could cook this like a custard and then use the ice cream maker. I don't know how it would turn out. I do know, it makes soft, delicious ice cream. I've made it 2 times now with great results. The davinci syrup is sold at most Walmarts in the coffee section. Well, guess I need to hit the hay. Talk to you all again later, Nikki:wave: |
I'm sure you are aware by now that MrsJim did not delete your post, she moved it to a more appropriate thread. Posts (and entire threads) are often moved on the forum to help keep it organized, and our moderators work very hard and give up a lot of personal time to help us. Without them, this forum would not exist, literally! Therefore, we would appreciate it if you did not call them names. We trust Mrs. Jim implicitly, and feel privileged to have her here.
Please remember that this is a support forum and we try to make a home for everyone, no matter what diet plan you follow. Not every plan is right for everyone, and depends on your own personal lifestyle, physical needs, and health condition. As a member, you do not have to agree with the concept behind every diet, just your own. You do not need to prove those concepts to anyone, as they can be easily debatable within any forum. That is not what we are here for. However, you did agree, when you registered... Respect toward fellow members is expected. You agree not to harass, flame, insult, taunt, or otherwise disrespect any member of this forum. In other words, if you can't say something nice, don't say anything at all. This requirement is meant to encourage the overall strength of our support system, and will benefit our community as a whole. I hope we can all drop this issue and remember those guidelines in the future. Thanks :) |
Thanks, Suzanne. I missed this one.

Fall housecleaning has started!

I have every right to comment on your post. Your post was out of line and clearly against the rules of this forum. In case you are not aware, this is MY forum, my sister and myself own and administrate it. We wrote the rules to benefit all of the members, and if you are unable to follow these rules, then you are apparently unwilling to be a member of this forum. I'm sorry it turned out this way, but you have made your choice.

Suzanne I just wanted to say that I support you and what you are doing here. I am sorry that this had to happen. she was a good encouragement for others here. But like you said she did agree to the rules, and chose not to follow them.
A word to others that may feel offended by the decision. everyone is entitled to their own opinion, if you do not agree with it you can say so, but do not belittle them for it nor put them down. many do not believe in the choice of low carb no matter how much proof you have. it does not work for every one and many do great following low fat. that is their CHOICE. and we a fellow people have to respect others for their choice no matter if we disagree. just state your opinion and leave it. there is no reason to belittle ANYONE. Mrs. Jim has done absolutley fantastic with her chosen WOE. so who is to say that it is wrong. and she is moderating a forum specifically for BFL which follows a very specific diet plan. She is also a very good moderator, and does a great job. one would feel very offended if they came to low carb and trashed it, so i feel that if she moved the post to a different area then she is a stronger woman that I, as i would have been tempted to delete it. I could go on and on but i feel that i would just drag this on further. so let this be then end and please no matter how strongly you feel about the diet that works for you, do not trash some one elses diet. (especially if you have not done all the research). Which is what had happened in this case. |
I have been trying to refrain from putting my two cents worth in:tape: but here I am yapping :soap:
The opinions expressed were that of one person and one person only and did not neccesarily reflect the opinions of the other persons posting on this thread. I hope the rest of the Somercizer group on this thread will continue posting as we were a good and positive support for each other and I will be a very lonely Somercizer with out all of you  xo Mauvaisroux |
Yes, Mauvaisroux, I agree. I have been kind of stunned the whole day and wasn't sure what to say. I need you guys.
I have often thought how glad I was that we had this little corner of the internet to meet on and talk. I really like all the smiley faces and I do appreciate all the hard work it must take to run a place like this. I've meant to tell someone, Suzanne I guess, how much I appreciate all the hard work and the time you guys invest in it. I'm sorry that this has happened and wish it hadn't. Like most of us have said previously, we don't usually talk about this woe to other people and I don't think most of us would feel like we need to debate the issue. It is just what we choose for our lives, and agree that anyone else can follow anyway they want and if it works for them, good, we're happy. Hi everyone, I hope your still out there. As Mauvaisroux said- xo Nikki |
I love you chickies!
ONWARD AND DOWNWARD - whatever the low carb plan! |
