  • Happy Tuesday!!

Hope everyone had a great Monday, Jif sorry about your fender bender, people are so rude and inconsiderate. Take care of your back, nothing worse than a bad back!

Not much going on here, still cool enough to keep the AC off gotta love that in June in TN!!!

Having trouble getting hte kiddies to go to bed at night, of course it stays light here til almost 10pm, we are right on the border of where the time zone changes so we have daylight from about 6:00am-10:00pm.

Well off to ride the exercise bike at the Y..have a great day all
  • Good morning!

Think I'll just lurk today for the most of it. I'm still in a blue funk -- actually more of black funk. DH and I had words last night thanks to princess DD. And I'm still not happy. (Jaw is hurting from gritting my teeth in my sleep.)

I'm weighing the options on clearing the yard or cleaning out the storage room in the attic so DH can start converting it to DS12's bedroom. Probably the latter as the further I go into the summer, the hotter that room will be (until we install some window fans). Can't install the fans until the room is cleaned out because DH has to install some electrical outlets. So probably would be smart to work on the room while the temperature is still below 80.

Will try to chat later. Hope all of your have a day better than mine is starting out to be.

  • Scooby, you shame me with your exercise so early in the morning. I've done my physio exercises and am off to walk to the cemetary to check some dates for the family tree. We have a big reunion in less than two weeks and I am still missing a couple of dates! The dogs will enjoy the walk after the lousy weather.

Jo, I feel your pain. Black funk is a good way to describe it. I was in a sort of purple one over the weekend - fed up with dogs, men and rain! It's turned a lot paler today as the sun is finally shining after 6 days of downpour! Tackling the cleaning out of the attic room will probably make you feel a bit better.

My cousin dropped in yesterday afternoon at 4:30 on his way up to The Island (family cottage). Silly idiot would not stay for dinner but insisted on going up to the Island in the downpour. I gave him tea and offered to dry his clothes in the dryer but he refused. We did a lot of chat about the Family Reunion. However, he stayed and stayed so the store was closed before I could get there for milk. Everyone is pissed off with me this morning - the dogs love milk and DH wanted some for his coffee. I guess we should get a cow for these "emergencies"!

Aside from a walk to the graveyard, I have not too much planned for today. It will still be too wet to garden but it may dry enough by late afternoon to do something. Ashley will come after school and will be pleased to see that the cukes she planted are up. I went out in the rain yesterday and picked a huge bouquet of peonies, lemon lilies and Siberian iris. Looks gorgeous this morning in the kitchen with the sun streaming in.

    Have a great Tuesday everyone.
  • Jo I hope your day gets better. Probably would be a good idea to clean out the attic while it is still cool.

scooby we are enjoying the same cool for June weather as you. I just love it, but I know it won't last. We will probably pay for it in July and August.

Jiff sorry to hear about your accident. Glad you and Mom were not injured. Hope the nephew had a good birthday last night.

Dawnajoy welcome from another WLS patient. I had my surgery in January of 2002. I had some pretty serious complications and my husband has already stated he would prefer I not have anymore elective surgery, he just wants me to keep the excess skin. We shall see. I'm a long way from that point anyway.

Annie thanks for the tips on redoing the hardwood floors. Maybe one of these days we will get it done.

I'm staying home today and cleaning. I ran around all day yesterday. My older son was hurt yesterday at work. I met him at the doctors office. The doctor wants him out of work for at least a week maybe longer. My son injured his shoulder lifting a box. The doctor said it is a very severe injury, wants him to see a orthopedic doc. My son injured his right arm, can hardly move it. In order to drive his truck home from the doctor's my daughter rode with him, my son did the clutch and my daughter shifted gears from the passenger seat. I told the stubborn boy we could just leave his truck there and pick it up later, but he wouldn't hear of it. MEN!!!!

    Off to start my day
    Debbie
  • good heavens deb!!!!
so your son wouldn't let a GIRL drive his truck???? if that isn't testosterone poisoning, i don't know what is!!!!

hope he feels better soon. you must have been scared half to death!!!!!

and jd... starting the attic project while it's cool is certainly a good idea, but i hope you're planning to reward yourself with a tall cool drink and a break afterwards. as for the stress-related tooth grinding. well, i have it on VERY GOOD AUTHORITY [and you know who you are!!!] that sleeping with a mouthpiece like the football players use will help reduce the morning pain. really!!!! you'll be able to talk in the morning, and give everyone a piece of your mind. and they so richly deserve your wisdom!!!!

and everything else is fine. i'm up and dressed in my 3-week-old pants that are already baggy <sigh> have had two big mugs of tea, and am about ready to do the protein shake thing.

i didn't actually eat lunch yesterday [not the greatest idea, but i had eaten about an ounce of soy nuts and just couldn't face lunch] so it's already at work today.

mom, the rottweiler, and her 14-year-old cat are all sound asleep in the same bed, and i can't find the camera!!
  • Good Morning,

    Boss is in today

Got on the eliptical for "10" minutes yesterday, I was so proud of myself. I haven't exercised in over 2 years so 10 minutes was like 10 hours to me

Trying to make better choices and only eat when I'm hungry instead of looking at the clock saying "ooops time to eat" AND trying to eat smaller portions.

    Other than that SOSDD.

    Have a wonderful day everybody.

Jiff, glad your safe !!! Huggs.

    Love, Leens
  • Oh crumb! I had a big post and I lost it! Grr.... Just tops my day anyway

Will post later, off to drop in center for my monster dd to burn off some of this energy!
  • Morning Everyone! Dare I say another sunny day here! That would be 3 in a row!!! Got lots done yesterday and proud of that anyway. All laundry (4 loads) done and put away--house totally picked up, 2 mile exercise tape done, floor 2nd coat on (3rd coat done this morning) and ran carpool for all of DS's stuff. Not to mention experimented and made Eggplant Parmesan for dinner last night--none of us had ever had it and guess what--it was a hit--even DH who is suspect of all all things different. I felt First time in a long time that happened. 'Course today I am soooo tired. DH is still in a state over this work thing and since he won't talk about it all I can do is what I did yesterday-play June Cleaver and take care of the house stuff I guess. I will NOT bring him a pipe and slippers though. Don't know what today's project will be--have to think about it. DS has basketball camp later this morning and then a football 7 on 7 game tonight at 7:00 up in the "big city". That is about the extent of our schedule. Planning on exercising here as soon as I get off the puter--still need to get the eating thing under control a bit better. Always something.

Jif, sorry about your fender bender--hope your back is feeling much better.

Leens, hey 10 minutes is 10 minutes--we all have to start somewhere--that's what I keep telling myself.

debkay, so sorry to hear about your DS, hope the doctor gives him better news when he goes. That truck thing is so typical "man".

Ruth, your description of your bouquet paints a beautiful picture--thanks for sharing it.

jd, I am sending you big hugs, you sure are having a time of it. I would opt for the attic too while it is cooler--doesn't sound like much fun, but it feels so good when it is done. I have a "biteplate" that I have to wear at night when I'm stressed (most of the time) I grit so hard I have headaches and jaw pain if I don't.

scooby, I know what you mean, I was exhausted last night and went to bed at about 9:15--it was still light outside and totally defeated the purpose of trying to sleep.

goodforme--sorry to hear that the work problems continue--that does not make for a fun day!!! Take care.

    Have a good day ladies!!!!
  • I'm home today. I seem to have a bladder infection of some kind. It started yesterday with me going to the bathroom about every 30 minutes, and today I just feel drained. I've got a doctor's apt at 2:30. I'm still doing great on this lc WOE. and it seem just much too easy. Only occasionally do I want something made full of carbs.

I've got to get well so that I can go to CT on Thursday.
  • My hyperactive dd is in bed for her afternoon nap now so I have a few minutes to chat and catch up. Been a busy moring and I'm so glad I took her to drop in since she was just full of energy.

Ruth, looks nicer outside today than it was yesterday--even hopr that it will be hot by Thursday!

Jiff--I'm glad there was a cop there--who knows what would have happened with a chicken purse full of rocks!

Deb, so sorry to hear about your son, gee, he's going to have a rough few days.

Hiya Leens, ageoldie, annie, scooby and jd!
  • Hi everyone,

I spent the morning in traffic court. Oh, how I hate that place! Best never to get tickets in the first place and never have to step foot in there...why oh why don't I remember that BEFORE I speed?

Day is going well otherwise. Oldest son is home, and is in a relatively good mood for the moment. The other two have until 6/28 before they are out for summer. I think we have two field trips, graduation ceremonies and a band concert within that time, not to mention their taekwondo, scouts and church activities. It's going to be a busy few weeks.

I found a link on here for a low carb site a few nights ago, and spent hours pouring over info there. Very informative. Apparently I didn't bookmark it, so I'll have to dig for the info.

Had chicken fajitas for breakfast (okay, had chicken breast, peppers and onions...no tortilla...but would have been a fajita in another life).

    Dawna
  • Happy Tuesday all!!
Just love reading all these wonderful posts!! So good to see activity here on the ole low-carb board!!

Well, this day was just like any other. Ho-hum, right? 3 major projects due tomorrow and one inventory. Also, finished up end of period reports and whew! Am I tired!!!!!!

Gotta clean a little and cook a little and read a little then I'll try to sleep, it's not working out too well here lately. I hate feeling tired in the mornings!

Ya'll have a wonderful evening, cook something yummy for me. Pass me a little of that eggplant parmesan, huh? Talk to ya'll later.
  • I am sitting here with my wine waiting for dinner. I just saw in my mother's room a pillow with the words sewn on it "having children is like being pecked to death by a chicken" what does this mean as the child? Do I take this personally?

    later,
    -L
