I am rubbing the sleep out of my eyes and swigging my first cup of coffee! I wish I could have said that I was sipping my coffee, but alas and alack, it IS swigging. Which makes me wonder if I chewed with my mouth closed yesterday? (((sigh))))
Beauty of a day out and the boys go to school...I love school! I might drag Mom to the fish store today to look for a new filter for the tank and then there is the Monday morning clean-up to do and the how come there is no food in the house thing.
Wasn't EXACTLY OP yesterday so I am going for a low point day...well HEY! one can dream!
I had to get to work extra early this morning, well the entire summer because we have summer hours here where we have to make up 45 minutes extra a day and Friday we can leave at 12:00 yahooooooo. Great time to head on up to Wallmart
OP ??? whats that ?? I had an egg omlet yesterday that was HUGE!!!! it was delicious mmmmmmm and then when I got home yesterday I had a hotdog all the way (onions, mustard & chilli sauce) OP whats that ?? LLOLOLOL.
Hope you all have a great day, mine will be full of smiles even though I'm at work (AN YOU GUYS KNOW WHY)
Sounds like you guys had a wonderful time! I hope I can join in on the next one!
I hae some weeding and planting to do today and am thinking of paying a visit to the greenhouse for some lovely annuals to fill my beds. The weird weather we've been having has played havoc with all my gardening endeavors and it looks like a greenhouse is the only way to go this year.
My bro. SIL and wee nephew Ashton will be coming to visit us ina couple of weeks. They haven't been here since we moved in and it looks like I'm going to have to spiffify my house a little bit. Got some last minute details to handle and some painting to do andit should be good to go
What an absolutely wonderful weekend! I am all relaxed (well, relaxed for me) and ready to tackle the rest of my life after a super break. Meeting the Joisey goils was the highlight and grande finale of the weekend. Nora and I talked about you all the way home - good stuff only! I hope we can do a meet soon - let's work on a Carolina one!
Gail is here cleaning today - she has more to do after HArry and Hershey's bachelor weekend. Morna's husband brought Lucy home last night and said she did fine at her first show training seminar! They also told me that the devil streak in the little demon is the same as Hershey had when she was that age so I am more hopeful now. Hershey turned out to be a super dog so let's hope Lucy does the same. She will have her first show over the summer. My baby is growing up!
My peony tree welcomed me home with three huge pink blossoms. I'd take a picture but the film in the camera at the moment is black and white! Duh! Don't ask! It was in and loaded before I noticed. I hope to get some seeds into the ground today - it is pretty cold but will warm up by noon. It may be summer in NJ but it's still April here in the mornings.
Was waaaaaaayyyyyyy off program on the weekend and don't really care. I didn't eat any french fries but had to eat a piece of warm chocolate cake for Jiff. The damage is only a pound and a half and that is probably from Chinese food. We had the waiter take pics - we have no pride! Did not eat any fruit and very few veggies and lots of protein but .........there was other stuff.
Morning Everyone! I just had a huge post all typed and somehow lost it! I will try again! It is a beautiful day here today--talking big thunderstorms for tonight, but it is great right now. Took my DS up to his football workout and just got done doing my Walk Away the Pounds video. Only did the 1 mile one, but I have to start somewhere. Have jumped into my LONG list of summer projects full steam ahead. Have made a little headway, but it is a LONG list! Even got my DH to help out a little with it this weekend. Finishing up the ceiling tile and light fixture in the bathroom of our "finished" basement. It only took him 2 years to get up the go to finish up about a 2 hour job. Anyway, then we moved some "older" furniture from the storage area and fixed up a cozy area for DS (and DH) to play Nintendo in without moving the family room furniture around every time. Today's projects will just be getting some groceries down in the "big city" and then picking up some of the stuff I need to do the other projects of the week. DS has his first summer league football game tomorrow night and then an all day basketball tournament on Saturday.Better get going and get my list together for our foray off to shop. Take care.
Ruth, sounds like you had fun--glad Lucy is doing so well also.
Pooky, have fun at the greenhouse--I had to make about 5 trips there before I finally "finished" my flowers. I do love going there though.
Leens, don't work too hard.
Peach, good luck with your low points day. Have a fun outing with your mom.
Good Morning and happy Monday, June 03, 2002
MAJOR GRIPE; BEWARE!!!!!!
I have been MIA for a few days last week. As many of you know I have been doing a bathroom renovation. The bathroom is not quite done, some towel bars, shelves and a little bit of wall tile to still be done, anyway, last week (well the week before now) the contractor asked that I leave him a check. So I did, but no one came to pick it up. So I took it off the door and the next morning I sent him an e mail asking for an itemized bill. I thought that was my right. So he sent me the FINAL bill. I went over it and found he had double billed for a portion of the job and told him so. He insisted not. Anyway he then demanded final payment, although the job is not done, and all along he has been insisting that money is tight. Anyway, he has just done a job for some friends and I had heard through the grapevine they had a money issue too. I called that person and we talked. Turns out the contractor gave a final bill for 40% over the estimate. To make a long story even longer, last Thurs, my long day, I was out 7:30 -7:30. I came home to 2 notes on the door demanding final payment, 4 messages and also 3 e mails. Friday we had a call on the phone, he still insisted we pay, remember, the job IS not done, and we insisted we had been over billed and that we wouldn’t pay until it was. He said fine, hold out $1000 until the job was done, but I felt that the over charge was way more than that. So Friday afternoon I got another e mail with a not so funny last line and I told DH I was freaked out! So I sat down and made the deductions I thought were appropriate, billable hours for work not done and materials for work not done, things that had to be redone, and the 300 over charge on the dumpster, stuff like that. Well he accepted the offer and today the tile man is suppose to come to finish, but he called with truck trouble. I am hoping this nightmare will be over soon. Ladies a word to the wise, never but never pay full up front to any contractor. I have been having this guy do work in my house for almost 11 years, and still I would never pay up until the job is done and even then I would hold out some portion on the money until you have had a chance to make sure all the work is done to satisfaction.
Ok I am done griping. I hope this man does not come to my house today demanding money even though the tile man is not done.
OK back to work, I have a printing job, teacher gifts to wrap and laundry to fold. Thanks for listening.

Nice to hear everyones voice's! I'm getting back on track too! Had a great weekend....dd4 was in bed with us last night...kept waking me up to take her wedgey out of her cute little 4 year old butt...if I wasn't so tired I would have had a big belly laugh....instead I hugged her up....this morning I told her no more coming in my bed at night...and she said..."sorry mommy, I can't help myself"....too cute!
I cant stay long. I drove into Las Vegas to grocery shop for my MIL, so I dashed into the library to use the computer, but need to hurry...Anyway,
My mother in law had the heart catheritization. They found 2 blockages...one was 90% in the left main artery. They put a stent in that artery and balooned the right main artery, which held a smaller blockage. She is home and going crazy because of the physical restrictions the doctor has placed on her. Her hearts fine, but the artery (at the groin entrance where they inserted the catheter) is vulnerable for a few weeks, so no lifting, slow stair climbing, no vacuuming (aahhh), etc...But the blessing is, she came through the procedure and it appears she will be better than ever when it's all said and done.
Thank you for the prayers. I know God heard them and he answered them with all His glory and grace!
Thanks for everything.
I'll be in touch this weekend when DH gets home from Canada and offers a little break from taking care of his Mom. (Not that I am complaining, but I haven't even got a clean bra to wear . I just need a little me time. I hope that doesn't sound too selfish. It's not meant to be.
This is so strange. I am only 28, so maybe you do this once you hit 40 or so, I have no idea. My boss is going through her second childhood!!! She gets mad if every piddly little thing doesn't go just precisely the way she wants it to, and then she pouts. She holds a grudge too! Anyway, today I must have really pi**ed her off, because she called me ranting and raving and HUNG UP ON ME 4 different times. I still can't get to the bottom of it because she's being so juvenile and will not tell me what is the matter. I am expecting a write up at a MANDATORY MEETING that she's called for tomorrow. I plan to give her a piece of my mind, write up or not. Dang, can we get out of kindergarten for 2 minutes here and FIX whatever's wrong?????
Sorry, that's over now. So, how was everyone else's day? Busy, busy, busy! I am still jealous and wish so badly that I had been in Jersey with you all!! Waaaaaaaahhhhhhhhh!!
Have a lovely evening, I am going to cook and hop in the tub. Talk to ya'll tomorrow!
Yesterday I went to the "monthly" birthday at my mom's. It was one of my son's and one of my nephews birthday. I did great with the meal. Just the roast, green beans and salad. But when the German chocolate cake and Ice Cream came around, I had some.
So later I went to other son's house and did 45 minutes of water aerobics in his pool. Do you think that'll even out?
Today I've done much better. I bought some lc bagels and tortillas from synergy diet site and the came Saturday. They are really tastie.
good heavens!!! what an AWFUL DAY!!!!! i got home at 9:30 tonight. left work at 7:45 this evening. left home at 8 am..
what happened????
first, this little irritation in my eye got worse... which meant an emergency trip to the eye doc. he's a sweetie, but 30 miles from the office!!! and we're under serious deadlines these days.
i figured 2, 2 and a half hours. tops, including a stop for the prescription. dear doc was running an hour late. 3 hours later, back to work, without filling the prescription.
more problems at work. more discussions. more deadlines. and more conference calls. more problems...
i finally sat down at 5 pm to do some actual work.. and it's due tomorrow... and it's not easy!!!
so, i gave up at 7:45 and went to fill the prescription... got to drugstore at 8. they agreed to fill it. at 9, when they closed, i was still standing there!!!! what happened????? they lost the prescription!!!!!
after 15 minutes of looking, they found it in the CALL MD pile... because.. they couldn't read his handwriting!!!!! and they couldn't tell me this earlier????????? so, after standing around for an hour, i still don't have my medicine, and i've been listening to this first-class, stupid, loud mouth woman complain that she wants her meds and she doesn't care if they interact, even though her insurance won't approve the prescriptions because of the interaction... and THEN she said the magic words: "i don't have this much problem getting my thorazine" so i figured she'd left home without taking it!!
so, thank goodness i was jsut a few minutes from home. and i fed the cat. and nuked my dinner. and made it through the chicken and 6 small bites of asparagus. and started throwing up... at least most of the protein stayed down.. but it's after 10!!! and i've been home less than an hour!!
i'm telling you all!!!! i'm having a treat before i go to bed... a sugar free popsicle!!!! much as i hate to get into the food-as-comfort thing again, i want a treat!!!!
at least i had more than 64 oz of water. not sure just how much more, but it is indeed more.
and it'll start all over tomorrow morning.. maybe i'll just walk out tomorrow afternoon and go to nephew's night game..
other wise. everything's fine... in my spare time, i thought of all those smiling, warm faces yesterday, and it sure helped. and all those hugs.. and sweet gracie's smile and kicking and holding out her tiny hands to everyone..
thank you for letting these annoyed fingers fly over the keyboard...
