Good morning, CHickies!

Still dark and gloomy here and the doggage are still asleep but we have to get going. Today is GAIL Day and I also must leave at 8 for a re-check with my periodontist.

Lovely Baptism at Church yesterday - 9 kids under 3 were in attendance to see their cousin baptized so it was a pretty noisy service. Hershey was in her glory checking out the kids and once again in her glory when we went to the party at the Farm.

Catch you later.

Morning chickies.

At least it is a bit warmer here, but it is kinda gloomy dark and damp. But the temps are in the high 40s.

I have a busy week this week at work, guests from Europe and out of state. So I will be working with marathon meetings and trying to complete my daily work also. I will be sure to check in here when I can.

Ruthie, sounds like a wonder baptism. Glad Hershey could enjoy it, was Lucy there also?

Goomba, glad to see you back, take some time to enjoy your down time.

Wink Am really crabby today...

The weather is disgusting. It' foggy, rainy and cold. DH is still home with a cold and I'm getting it too! I got it all! Body aches, stuffy nose, congested chest and I wanna cry! I've been awake since 3:30, trying to keep lukewarm, flat 7-Up down. Everytime a cough, my tummy revolts! The part that really makes me frustrated is that everytime I get a cold, I get bronchitis! Then it's off to the doctor where I get more meds.

I never realized that I could whine so well!

Heading back to bed and my electric blanky!!!!!

Good Gloomy morning everyone! Tip--I feel the same way--dang scratchy raw throat and I know where it's going. Good thing I have a scheduled doctor's trip in this week

Raining a lot here and that's just fine by me since all the snow has not yet melted so hopefully the rain will wash it all away. I have so much to do this week that it's a wonder that I will even have a few moments to myself!

You all have a great day!

Default A MOVIE CRITIQUE

Oh Pooky, so nice to see you posting in the morning again.

Forgot to mention earlier.

If you have young ones in baseball,

If you love the game of baseball,

Or if you just need to see a good clean movie about dreams coming true...

See THE ROOKIE!

Wow was that a great movie. No foul language, no sex, no violence, just a great family movie. And Dennis Quaid was super! What a handsome man, my choice over Russell Crow anyday.

I was so caught up in the movie that I automatically applauded when the Owls won. Later in the movie others applauded with me. I laughed, I cried, and I was glad to see a movie I could enjoy along with my boys.

Default good morning everyone!!!

and to all of you battling colds and flu, here's a box of tissues, and a nice pot of peppermint tea. hope you feel better soon, and don't get bronchitis or anything icky...

ruth, you just don't stop, do you. ya got the sling off, and it sounds as if you've been home for a whole 5 minutes since then!!! but it must feel sooo great to be free after all that torture.

as for me, a visit with peachie yesterday [yes, she was off the treadmill]. nice to see her and her older son, you know the one. the one that moaned when i told him his old auntie wanted a hug. but he also had a big grin on his face [such a cutie pie, but no one can tell him that since he's a wrestler and wrestlers aren't cute. or something like that].

nothing planned for today, except preparing a functional resume and continuing the job hunt. mom is having fun with my brother and his family. and i'm enjoying the peace and quiet. with two black cats and a rottweiler.

and i did 45 minutes with raul. i'm not ready to go for a full hour yet. maybe soon.

have a nice day, ya'll. and keep smiling. and sneezing. whichever works.

Good morning y'all!

Jenny I'm so glad to hear you liked the Rookie. I really want to see it, since I'm pretty much baseball/softball obsessed. Then, wouldn't you know, I read a review this weekend where the reviewer was trashing it. It seems they always trash the movies I like though, so I should know better to listen to them. I'll listen to you instead!

Jif Okay, you've inspired me with all your Raoul talk. I think I'll do a quickie with Leslie Sansone today. (Get your mind outta the gutter Peach, I mean exercising!)

I'm pretty sore today because this weekend I gardened my little heart out and threw the softball with my DD, so it's a good sore. It's kind of gloomy here today too, but it's our (Rockies! ) home opener today, so all's well here. Except that they're playing like garbage! Season's young, the season's young....

Have a good one chickies. Take care of yourselves sickie chickies!

Morning all! Well I don't know if it is the time change or what but I am so tired today....1030 and my dd is just getting breakfast and I am just getting moving. Called the office of the surgeon who is supposed to be taking my gallbladder out (the start of March!!!!) and the secretary told me that if I haven't heard from them it is because I don't have a date and she could give me no indication of when I would be done...I have had half a dozen attacks in the last 2 weeks and enough is enough already...of course all the pina coloda's and strawberry daq's didn't help in Mexico! Anyhow I am now calling my GP and am going to see if she can pull some strings and if not I start approaching the surgeons at the hospital where I work and see if I can get in...I am a nurse for goodness sake, shouldn't I have a little pull to get done in less than a year!!!!! I have been having attacks since JULY!!!! Now how is that for whining! Liz

Afternoon everyone,
I had a little surgical procedure this am and the Novocain has worn off. All I can say is OUCH!!
The shower was boring and the amount of gifts was obscene. The house was in Historic Salem (Mass) and not a parking space to be had. The weather was chilly but I HAD to wear some spring Capri pants....lol my ankles were cold.

Don do you think 8 year olds will like the movie? My kids want to go see clock stoppers? Maybe if we get a call from friends.

Pooky and Tip, feel better.

Chickadee, nice to feel the body ache once in awhile to know your body still works, in a good way.

Jiff you amaze me. I would have never had a clue about your size had I not gone back and read some of your past post. I am fully impressed at your grabbing life by the B*lls and taking control.

Liz, Pull those stings. My MIL was an OR nurse and got all kinds of cool stuff and freebies. I nursed my kids, but I had enough free formula to start my own day care... LOL anyway, that is what friends are for.

Have a great day ladies, I will be in bed for the rest of the day and looking forward to hearing about your day.

Default Happy Monday

Morning all..
Why can't I ever seem to get on here early?? Well, I'm here at least!
Thank you all of you for your wonderful Birthday wishes! None of you would believe how much they meant to me!
I'm trying hard not to be too terribly down today, but its one of those days, ya know??
My family basically ignored my birthday, I realize that is not a big deal in the least, but still annoying! My mom called two days late and half way apoligized. Both my brothers and my sister never bothered to even call. My MIL called two days late and just said shes getting old, again, no apology....
On the other hand my amazing little people woke up Friday morning on their own and ran downstairs with cards made just for me! My little one thrilled to death that he wrote "momumy" all alone on the card!! My older painted me a beautiful picture! My best friend from highschool flew in for the weekend from Seattle, so not all was bad!! My husbands gift apparently got lost in the mail...oh well.
OK, good night is that enough whining or what????
After a full 6 months of not being on OP my "big" size jeans have oddly shrunk! They feel like possibly someone shrunk them almost two sizes! I hate that! Needless to say, I think I may need to be back OP, and big time!!!
I did a training walk this weekend, 11 miles, and boy was I sore and tired!!!! How will I make 60 fulll miles! Oh my!!
Hope y'all have a wonderful week you lovely ladies!!!
NORA.... I need some tips for my "pond" I hope to get started in the next couple of weeks!!

Do you know that a spider just ran across my key board and and is hiding under the letters as I type? This sort of gives me the willies since I am expecting the darn thing to pop out at any minute. It is harmless one, not like the biting kind that Janice has. But I HATE spiders...so .....I think that I am just going to say "hey" and STEP AWAY!

peach...who has the heebie jeebies

The eesy beensy spider
Took a walk on Peachie's keys!

Back crashed her chair
And landed 'tween her knees!

Out came the swear words,
To scare the bug away.

So the eensy beensy spider
Ran off 'till another day!

JUst checking in to say hi-

Had a blissfully quiet day at work today, that hasn't happened in ages! My desk is relatively clear, enough going on to not be bored, but enough time to read and chat on the phone. Ate well today, too. I have been better about bringing food from home and keeping stuff in my little frig- hb eggs, cottage cheese, sf yogurt, sliced ham and baby carrots. When it's crazy busy, it doesn't matter cause I skip my meals and snacks until I'm starving and eat what ever isn't tied down(cookies) and that gives me the quickest sugar rush! But it's much better this past week, and I am trying hard to eat something substantial at 10 AM, then I do best.

7-breakfast
10-snack
12:30-lunch
3:30 snack
7-dinner
then I'm OK til bed, or I might have some sf jello or cottage cheese and peaches if I'm hungry.

Watch out you sniffling ones, have some hot tea, and get some extra rest!

Talking Hello everyone!

Another moan day behind me! Whoopee!!!!!

I am having mixed feelings about my weight. This on again, off again program stuff is killing me! Just when I start to lose some, I slip up once (or twice ) and gain it back, only to start the whole cycle again.

I have tried not buying the stuff I'm not supposed to have, but it keeps popping up in my house anyway. The grocery fairy? More like my sister bringing it for dd and mom. And then. . . well, who am I to say no to temptation?

Anyway, my real-life weight loss buddy has slipped from the l/c fold and started ww. She's all over me every day to join, it's so wonderful, she doesn't see how ANYONE can't lose weight on the program, blah blah blah! I told her the same thing about l/c, but she didn't find it to be as wonderful as I do. Now I'm seriously thinking about ww.

However, I've been reading up some in the forums here, and I will miss you guys so much! I think I'll just stick with my atkins REALLY REALLY STRONG and STAY STRICTLY O/P! Then, in a month, if I haven't seen results like I want, maybe I will sit in on a meeting. What do you think? All suggestions welcomed!
