TGIF! After work today we will be going out for dinner with another couple and their kids, and then on to see the performance of Chinese Acrobats. I think the kids will love, and I am looking forward to it myself.
Saturday holds soccer and more soccer. Sometime this weekend we need to collect our tax information. Yuck!
Peachie, hope the weigh in went well. I used to go to WW with a gal that wore the same spandex outfit (for consistency), she used to remove all her jewelry, and get on the scale with little footies on. It was quite a comical ritual!
Poor Ruth, sounds like you had quite a gruelling day on Wednesday. 10 hours of running around! Hope you got in a little rest yesterday.
Liz, I like your wisdom toward scrapbooking. I went to a friends house last night that is finishing her basement. The plans include a small private scrapebooking room! I am so jealous! A place all to her own, where she can leave all her work out and not be distrubed!
L, sounds like you have a busy weekend ahead! Inlaws and snow tubing, sounds like fun. Most of our southern Michigan snow is gone, although we have flakes in the air, it does not seem to accumulate.
Jiff, how was the dr visit?
Jenni and Jiff, I agree with you regarding Gretzky!
Kel, hope you had fun in the shower and at the gym!
Please note that this forum may be carb-free, but it should never be Chickadee-free! Hey Chickadee, you sound like you live on the wild side!
Pooky, so sorry about your diagnosis. At least you now have something to workwith. I will keep my fingers crossed that Metfornin works some baby majic for you!
Tippy sound like you have a lot of work ahead of you, good luck.
Got an early morning email from my gardening friend who will be here at 9 instead of 10. She is in Burlington - a 3 hour drive - but is heavy on the pedal. Anyhow, at least I don't have to weed my garden for a winter gardening pal visit. At this time of year, my garden is goreous - in my mind.
So I will scurry around tiddling up the place, DH and the dogs and check back later.
By the way, would someone please tell me what the heck scrapbooking is? I probably should have asked this years ago when folks first started doing it but didn't. Forgive my old fart ignorance.
By the way, excellent game last night - and I'd say that no matter the outcome!
I love to see women playing hockey - have a younger friend, Susan, a female Anglican priest, who was asked to play goalie on the men's team at theological college. You'd think she had been made Archbishop of Canterbury, she was that honoured and excited!
Morning all,
Ruth, don’t feel dumb. Scrap booking is placing your pictures and scraps of memorabilia in books. You add a little story telling and Voila! A scrap booker you are. You have probably been doing it for years, just never had a name.
I watched the skating and the hockey last night so I am a little tiered. But we are headed out the door in a few to go skiing. The Mt was hit by lightning so we are limited to the T-BAR lift. We will see how it goes. Have a great OP day ladies and I look forward to reading you later.
Be well,
-L
Not much planned today except to take mom to get her airline tickets and to drop in and say "hey" to Jiff! Can't wait to see her...I think she lost something like 44 pounds on top of the 115...I am not sure if those numbers are correct but needless to say it is ALOT! Plus she got her hair colored...I think it is dark brown, but her friend always puts something funky in it like purple...always looks nice!
Jenny, If I could drop my drawers at weigh ins, believe me I would!!! I lost 3 pounds which was somewhat of a surprise...heavy toenails I guess!! But...all in all I am jumping for joy losing 7.6 pounds since 1/31. I finally "get it" Three meals, one snack all with protein and desert...sort of like potato not prozac except I choose a sugary variety and then sleep it off.
hope you all have a great day...Dr C...always good to see you!...You really crack me up I mean really really crack me up!...I tried making up a limerik but I always end up with Rockies and sockies! I need to stick with the June Taylor dancers......
Dr.P.
gosh, I just re read that...and it sounds like I have desert at every meal!!! One can dream!
Well for the first time in a long time...TGIF...I worked everyday this week except for Tuesday...following working the entire weekend...so far I am off this weekend...It might not sound like a big deal to those of you that work full time Mon-Fri but I am supposed to be part-time....a little less than half time...It has almost killed me, I have been in bed every night by 9 pm and I am usually up until midnight! Was working lots as we were to go away over Easter but now due to my pending gallbladder surgery and the way everyone doubles and triples the prices of everything over the holdiays it doesn't look as though we will go away until May... Anyhow it has mostly been good, as I do love what I do, but my kiddies are missing me and the house...well lets not even go there Anyhow tomorrow is my big scrapping power layout from 10-6 pm...so it doesn't look like any housework will get done any time soon...have a great friday all! Liz
Lurker coming out to say "hi". Same old, same old around here. Staying OP and feeling great. I feel so good that I almost don't care about weight loss (I said almost!). I'm feeling good and that's good enough for me.
Well, I have a few minutes before I dash out of here. My car had a flat this moring so dh was shivering his you know what's off changing the tire. Cost $30 to repair--a hunk of metal in the tire?? Gee, what was dh driving on! I FINALLY got my criminal reference check back and surprise! I'm clean! The daycare is thrilled because she's got more hours for me next week. Dh is going to look at a car tonight and probably buy it because now we are a two income family and not enough cars to go around, know what I mean? At noon I pick up dd from daycare and off to grandma's house we go so dh and I can paint our kitchen this weekend! I swear, when it's done you'll all have some pics to look at, OK? Off to have a quick OP brekkie and swallow down my pills . Have a great one everyone!
Hi Everyone,
I am so mad right now. I have an ebay customer who is a psycho drama-queen. Since I am one of DottieJon's super subs, I know psycho when I see it, and this lady is plain nuts! I'll probably get my first negative feedback from a lady who I bent over backwards for, but didn't get her $1.10 refund in one day. Sheesh!
You will think I'm the psycho-babe when I tell you what I did yesterday. My DH got the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit issue this week and frankly, it annoyed me. It's so darn close to soft-core porn, that I'd rather he just got a Playboy because it seems more honest somehow. Anyway, I found a great use for all those accumulated scraps of fabric! I made clothes for some of those scantily clad women and glued them on. It was so fun, and it turns out, I'm quite the little clothing designer. He didn't even notice the first clothed one, because it looked like she really was wearing a dress. I saw him give it her a puzzled look and move on. It was when he got to the next one, a pink fleece dress and hat ensemble that he thought something was a little strange. He thought it was published that way and he tried to lift her dress and look under it! What kind of man did I marry? Anyway, my daughter and I were laughing so hard by then than he figured it out and laughed too. In fact, he took it to work today, just to show the guys what he has to put up with.
Now that I've talked only about me, me, me, I don't have time to post anymore! I hope you all have wonderful OP weekends.
Your Chickadee, coming soon to a magazine model near you!
p.s. Jenny, only my left side is wild! The right side is the SUV drivin', Republican, soccer mom of two.
p.s. #2 - Peachie, you are crusin' girl! I'm so proud and so envious. Keep it up!
I've been really busy and to be honest - life has just been hard and I am an emotional eater - so guess what I've been doing! But I will get myself back on track! I'm trying!
Jenny - I am so glad to hear that you are feeling good! Amen! You certainly deserve to feel good girl! Keep it up!
Wish I could catch some of yall in the chatroom but the room is usually empty when I get a chance to check during the day! Guess everybody is chatting at nite!
Ooooooooh, the fits of laughter ---------- I can't stop ------ the swimsuit edition is just too freaking hilarious! Oh, Chickadee, thank you so much for that ----- it has truly made my day!!!!
I had trudged to the computer with my coffee in tow and a little late this morning. I, too, was up watching the Olympics and was astounded at the little girl who took the gold medal in figure skating. I was disappointed for Michelle Kwan, but that young lady truly deserved to win -- her performance was amazing!
Today I am heading to a garage sale and to get some shipping supplies. I am have been buying from eBay for a long time (not to worry -- I am not the crazy lady) but now I want to sell!
OH CHICKADEE!!!! ROFLMAO!!! I tell you, men are perverts sometimes!! Way to go on the design fest! You should have also stuck some food in their hands--like stick on bags of chips and chocolate. Maybe your dh will take the hint???
I guess I took care of "girlie" type magazines and that sort of stuff a long time ago. Told DH he had a choice-me or that. I also told him if I found any of that nonsense in our home or property, he'd be having sex with that and not me! He never argued with me. I also told him that "that" sort of stuff is degrading to all females-me, his mother, our granddaughters, every woman.
Am still scraping two layers of paint and now a layer of very old varnish. Ick, it resembles dog droppings or something.
Tomorrow we're going to look at floor coverings and wallpaper. I want to rip out all the carpeting. I'm afraid the wood under there is very old and not a good quality. There is wood flooring out now that looks pretty good. I always prefered wood floors to carpeting.
Have a good weekend everyone and say a little prayer for my two darling granddaughters.
I gotta tell DH about dressing up the swimsuit models. he'll think eveyone here is as nutty as me!
My pal who came for coffee at 10 this morning just left to go to Ottawa. I did a scrambled egg and bacon lunch for her and her husband when it got to be 12:55! Found out that her friend in Ottawa was working this afternoon but Ruth Ann didn't want me to fuss over giving them lunch. Love that girl! She is 4'10" and 85 pounds of sheer strength and energy. Works in the ICU in the Oakville Hospital - a dynamo! She and her man are both dog people so the "girls" had a ball. Ruth Ann even pointed out Lucy's "I wanna pee" signal which I had been missing.
So much for going to the Office to catch up on some reports - another Friday with stuff left on my week's list. Oh well - who cares - TGIF. Nice afternoon although below freezing so The Lump aka Hershey and I are going for a walk to get the mail.
My snowdrops are in bloom through the snow beside the house.
I love the decorate the Swimsuit Issue idea. Maybe we could organize a posse with glue and precut clothes and raid news stands across the continent. Now that I finally know what scrapbooking is, I could really get into it!
Nice to see some MIA folk posting again. Remember just "Hi. Life sucks!" is a post. "Life is great" works even better.
Chick that was soooooooooooooooo funny, wish I could have seen his face. Hope you video taped it. You could send it to AFV and maybe win $10,000. ROFLMFAO Its just in mans nature, they are very visual beings.
