Default Plateau Buster's Diet

I was looking for my copy of the Mayo Clinic Diet and found this. I think it is from an old version of Atkins.
It might be worth a try for anyone on Atrkins who is no longer in ketosis.

*************************************************

"Here it is, direct from the Atkins Center (but don't expect to see it in the next edition). Eat ONLY what is listed and nothing else, not even any form of salad dressing when it says salad:

Every morning: 1/2 grapefruit, black coffee or black tea.

Day 1 lunch: 8 oz broiled steak, lettuce & tomato salad.
Day 1 dinner: 2 hard boiled or scrambled eggs, 1 cup green beans, 1/2 grapefruit.

Day 2 lunch: 8 oz lamb or beef patty, lettuce salad, 6 oz tomato juice or tomato
Day 2 dinner: steamed squash, cauliflower & green beans, 6 oz sugar free apple sauce. If you prefer, repeat day 1 dinner.

Day 3 lunch: 8 oz lamb or beef patty, lettuce and celery salad, 1 apple (medium sized).
Day 3 dinner: 8 oz broiled chicken, white meat only; stewed tomatoes, 4 oz prune juice (the latter only if constipated).

Day 4 lunch: 2 scrambled eggs, 1 cup green beans, 6 oz tomato juice or tomato.
Day 4 dinner: 8 oz broiled steak, lettuce salad, 6 oz pineapple juice.

Then return to Atkins on day 5. remember, don't put any dressing on the salads. This should put you back into ketosis."

Gawd, that looks like torture! I can't see how it would put a person into ketosis with grapefruit for brekkie and pineapple juice etc. There has to be a better way.

Have never done this - just reporting it was on the Atkins Board.
Seems to me there was a long discussion pro and con but some folks did try it. Been a long time since I do Atkins so who knows. f

Well Gosh everybody, I dont know what all the discussion was regarding this 4-day diet, but It sure worked for me. I actually lost 5.5 lbs in those 4 days and now I am back on Atkins. I actually enjoyed my 4 days and if need be, would love to do it again!

I gotta tell you all a story though. When it came to dinnertime, day 4, I came to 3FC to see what I got to eat next, and the server was down Oh my gosh I was frantic. I kept hitting refresh and about 30 minutes later I got in Boy was I extatic!! After I collected my meal, the server was down again, then the next morning I saw a note from Suzanne that it had been down all night. So someone out there in cyber world was looking out for me and made sure that I got in just long enough to stick to my 4-day plateau buster diet!! Thanks Cyber World!!
