About Low carb & its many faces
I wondered after reading a few of the threads on this forum...I hear from a lot of people that you can't LC for life. I totally agree in one way, but in another, i can see just how may different ways people can LC. YOu have the obvous Atkins and protein power, but then there is also sugar busters, and a miriad of programs which emphisize low glycermic foods and complex carbs. I am of the later variety since I am fighting PCOS and also weight train extensively.
HOwever, I love posting and reading on lo carb boards because there is often a plethora of healthy recipes mentioned, and the people tend to be very much in touch with thier body and its reaction to what they eat...If you are maintaining ketosis or something, you have no choice.
Also, LCers tend to follow a doctors direction in order to monitor thier cholesteral and state of kidneys. I wanted, anyway, to say thank you to everyone for keeping this board happy and free of flames toward those who might or might not agree with each others "face" on their LC lifestyle. It is so sad since each body is individually different and needs different means to its ends...
And again, a 10000000 thanks for the fantastic recipes. The ideas for flavoring and marinating veggies and meat really are helpful. I do so like to cook, only i tended to steer toward bready things in the past, so it is nice to get ideas for healthy meals. Plus, I can't eat synthetic sweeteners due to allergies, but i am finding that i can alter things using stevia and rice syrup. I really dont have much of a sweet tooth these day, but i try and have a little something planed each day, say a cup of coffee with a dash of cinnamon and cocoa, or a small cookie. If i don't. my brain starts going crazy and I will binge when i bake for DH. It is what works for me, but still keeps me OP. (Reality is carbs are about 40percent of my diet, but they are low glycemic things like brown rice and veggies.)
Good luck to us all...
