Friday at last!

What a long week- but everyone's in a good mood cause of Christmas, and nothing is really at full speed at work. I guess alot of people are off with kids home from school, so it's been relatively quiet, just a lot of end of the year paperwork.

I am doing better each day, no candy yesterday, just bread and butter with dinner, and 1/2 roll on a cheeseburger for lunch. I am thrilled to have gotten on the scale today and DID NOT GAIN! However, I was already up alot from around Thanksgiving- and have been not on any diet plan since just before that. So, while I am up in weight overall, at least I didn't make it worse over Christmas. So I am happy

Today is a light work day, a Christmas party with lunch- there is always chicken and cold cuts, but my temptation is the macaroni and cheese! I will not even look at it today!

Thanks Pooky, for pulling us together with the motivation thread, I know alot of us are really ready to get to work!

have a great one

Good Morning!

Friday at last! Why is it that these short work weeks seem to never end? Have saved some busy work type tasks for me today so I won't have to think too much.

Have a great day!

Good Morning Chicks!

Feeling good this morning, and very motivated. Hoping to rub that off on everyone! Today I am finshing the laundry and doing the bedding and then I am going to clean up my disaster of an office! YIKES!

I was very depressed after stepping on the scale and seeing it had gone up 10 pounds since 9/11. I realized that I'm letting the bad guys win by making myself worry and fret over things I have no control over. What I DO have control over is my weight issues and I'm not going to let anyone get in front of me and make me live in fear and worry when I can pull myself up by my own bootstraps and make MY life worth living. Hence the Kickin Butt thread, since I figured that everyone else was living like me. I will not walk in fear, regret, worry, or shame a day longer becasue I am DETERMINED to make my life worth living and controlling my weight is the best way to do it!

Have a great one everyone! DRINK YOUR WATER!

It sure sounds like everyone is busy, busy, busy with the end of the year upon us!

DH has to work today and it's just the girls and I. We are running errands, paying bills and buying a mattress for DD#2 (almost 2y/o) for the bunk bed. She's moving to a big bed and it's turned out to be a very big deal.

I stayed OP all day yesterday. Today will be the same! I'm glad that we've got such a solid recommitment here! I need it -- because I feel myself slipping. Especially watching DH eat bread!

I hope everyone has a great day! Stay positive and drink your water!

A late good morning! This puppy adventure is certainly keeping me hopping - and mopping! Housebreaking will not start properly until Foster Pup leaves on Sunday afternoon. Then Miss Lucy and I will get with it. Right now, I can't tell who did what when! Lots of fun, nevertheless. Hershey is right in there playing and charging around - it's kind of like watching the action at a hockey game.

So nice to see new folks and the recommittment of the "regulars". I am trying hard but we still have lots of company and people keep bringing gifts of candy and cookies. Why do they do that? Most of them know we are both Type 2 diabetic. Why not candles or cheese or a prime rib roast? LOL! Lobster and shrimp are nice too. Anyhow, I do have healthy meals planned for the next few days - our Anniversary and New Years Eve and New Years Day are three event dinners right in a row so will have to be careful. Thank heaven DH got (and loves) his GF grill.

It is snowing madly right now. We are finally getting what the rest of Ontario has been shovelling. We have propane, water, lots of wood, wine and new books to read so Let It Snow!

Have a good Friday. Still Christmassing!

Morning Everyone! I am typing from my parent's computer in WI. We had a lovely Christmas Eve, just the 3 of us and then left Christmas morning after the opening gift madness was over. DS LOVED his letter jacket and was totally surprised by it. Hadn't noticed that his letters had disappeared off of his shelf. Headed to the inlaws that day and made it through 2 days there of utter chaos. Got here yesterday morning and did our 3rd and last Christmas for the year. I have to truthfully say I am ready to go home tomorrow and have a few quiet days before back to school. All 3 of us have colds now and scratchy throats. I think that all but DH are going to Lord of the Rings the movie today and then out to dinner with some friends tonight. I am disgusted to say that despite my best of intentions my jeans feel tight and I know that it is NOT just because I have my period. NEED to get going on this. Hope my "Walk Away the Pounds" videos are there when I get back. Take care everyone!!!!!

Wink Remember Me??????

I can't even remember how long it's been!!!? A couple of weeks? See what happens when you wait until a couple of weeks before Christmas to do all the decorating, shopping, wrapping and baking? Ugh! I must admit that my goal this year was to NOT be up all night Christmas Eve doing the wrapping and I managed that! DD and her four munchkins were here for a few days as was baby munchkin from next door to hang with her cousins and there is no way I could've found my way to the computer thru all the mess! I had five kids at home and I definately do not recall this mess or chaos. DD and I talked about that and she said we didn't have it! She claims it's due to my stricter upbringing! Good thing cause I can't imagine surviving 18 years of it! (and neither would my kids !!)

Thanks to everyone for the wonderful Christmas cards! Jenny, what beautiful babies you have! DH picked the card up and wondered what nephews he didn't recognize! Jeesh, can you tell he comes from a large family?

Wonderful to see so many new faces! Hope everyone jumps right in and enjoys the friendship and knowledge of our great LC chicken coop!

I'm off to try to catch up on some threads!

Hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas! Anyone making any New Years resolutions?

Luv ya'll

Oh what fun! NOT! I went to my first physical therapy for my shoulder and I would like to utter a few obscenities. That hurt! Now I have to sit with a family sized bag of frozen corn on my shoulder for 20 minutes several times a day. Like I got time for this!!!! Ruth, I'm thinking a double scotch and water may make a lot of difference...don't you think??

Well, I must be on my way! Thank you for letting me vent! God bless and take care!!

Unhappy Hack, hack, achooooooooo, UGH!!

I feel like CRAP!! Went to Dr. today, which is rare for me, so you know I must be sick! Throat feels like I swallowed a pine cone. Anyway, I have to tell you chicks this! They weighed me, which hasn't happened in about 6 months. The nurse looked at me like I was insane! The scale is the same as mine at home and the last time I was there I weighed 238. That 222 looked like 150, I was so proud! She kept on checking the scale to make sure it was right I admitted to the Dr. what plan I was on and he was enthused! I'm double surprised at that. Anyway, after almost $100 I still feel like crap, and all that nasty medicine isn't helping in the least! Maybe in a couple of days. Hope you all have a great weekend!

Hard as it was I dragged a dozen butter tarts, a dozen homemade turtles, a tin of whipped short bread and truffles to work today, it was hard to do, but would have been harder to see on the scale.... no one said this would be easy...hope all is well...scotch sounds good for the puppy and roator cuff difficulties...hope all are well....new beginnings are good gang!
