Good morning everyone!

Had a very busy weekend. Met a friend Saturday morning for breakfast, then we went shopping.

DH is sick in bed I had to go to the doctor Sunday morning to get some medicine. He does not keep any food inside the only thing that he managed to eat is a little yogurt. Poor man did spend his time from Saturday evening till Sunday evening in the bathroom. It is going allot better now that managed to keep the medicine inside. He just complains that he is very tired and has a pain in his neck. Will give him lots of love and some nice food tonight.

Hope you all have a nice day.

Nothing exciting going on accepts work, work, work.

Default Good Early Morning!

Hi Hensa! Hope your dh is feeling better soon!

We had a nice weekend. The big kid took a 4th place in a wrestling tournament...he wrestled up an age group from Bantam to Midgets There were only 4 in his weight class, but to him as long as he gets a medal AND it goes on his record as an exhibition match he is happy.

Auntie Jiff and Grandma came over yesterday and Auntie Jiff gave the little guy some modeling compound and Grandma talked to him about the birds (no bees) and he was a happy camper.

Finally got the lights up outside....well sort of! Except for the gal who lives down the street on the corner I am the last hold out for those big whomping old fashion light bulbs. I but a garland wrapped with the lights with 8inch dark green and red wooden boots hanging from it below my two front windows (think cape cod house) and it looks pretty nice. Dh, hung the lights along the roof line. Only problem is that one side swags and one side lays flush and then of course along the down spout on one side is a string of lights and on the other is nothing! AND HE sees nothing wrong with this! Think I'll be up on the ladder today with a bit of duct tape evening things out!

Library duty today...love that!

have a good one chickies!

Good morning, chickies. Sounds to me like you two had fun and productive weekends. Sorry about your DH, Hensa and hope that darn bug leaves him soon. Peachie, I can visualize your house perfectly and you are right! Be careful on that ladder.

Hershey and I are up and at it this a.m. as Gail comes at 8 to clean. It is very cold and clear out there in the meadow. Hershey has lost a lot of her fur over those monster puppies and is cold out there so we don't linger. She has a coat - red with navy piping, same as mine! Talk about a fashion statement!

Peach, I finally got my lights straightened out with the help of my friend Lisa and her husband. Now they look good rather than tacky! I made a little Christmas tree out of the tacky garlands. I took a tomato cage, wired the legs together in a point and just started winding on the crappy old garland. It looks great - even before lights - and took all of ten minutes total! I am thinking of doing five of them for along my side walk! However, that may not happen this year.

We are off to the vet at 9 for Hersh's post-natal and to weigh her. It is so strange to feel her ribs and backbone as she was sort of built like me before the pups! The vet will just check her and recommend supplements to get that fur back in shape. She does look pretty ratty right now - she has even lost fur around her eyes so looks a bit like Al Jolson in blackface!

Have a great day!

We had a rather boring weekend. Saturday was shopping. Sunday, I spent a lot of time in the bathroom too and couldn't go to church or the funeral. DH spent Sunday putting a new water pump in his car.

Ruth, try giving Hershey one half of a teaspoon of cold liver oil every day for her fur. It's very good for animals and people.

Todays plans are sewing, cleaning and a bit of cooking. Have a good day everyone and God bless.

Hi Kids,

I had a great weekend, both parties went really well.....of course I ate like a pig lol. Its only 26 degrees out today, there's even frost on the fence.

Need to go to the store to get Grace some Jamies....I swear they make kids clothes like crap and they charge you an arm & a leg.

Peach.....drive down my street, our neighbors have those huge lights ALL over the house, and even on the back fence lolol. My dad used to love them.

Got another cold, boy am I tired. I got up this morning, went to brush my teeth and swallowed the listerine instead of spitting it out OY!!!!!!!!!!!! I haven't had a drink in over 3 years.....yeeeeeeeeeahh haaaaaaaaaaaw lol.

Have a Wonderful day all.
Love Leens.

Happy Monday!

Had a busy weekend, Saturday was 8:00am soccer, come home and clean house, 3:00pm soccer, find a tree, put it up. Sunday was a Christmas program, lunch out with friends (2 1/2 hours!), take the boys to Grandma' s and a Christmas party. No wonder my house is such a mess, I am never home long enough to clean it. It makes me wonder when we have the time to mess it up!

Made a Cookie Bouquet for the hostess of the Christmas party I went to. I used a square metal Christmas candle holder for the base, stuffed with styrofome and cellophane. Arranged a sprig of Christmas greens and the Christmas Tree cookies on a stick for the bouquet, added a bow and wa-la an inexpensive, unique hostess gift! This was my trial one, I plan on making about 9 more for the neighbors.

Hensa, sorry about your dh, men can be such babies when sick.

Peachie, my dh still uses the old fashion light bulbs, and I love it. Everyone seems to have those icicle type of lights and we like being unique.

Ruthie, glad your Hershey is home.

Tippy, hope you are feeling better today.

Leens, take care of that cold.

Pookie, loved your card! You really have a talent!

Hi Liz!

Jenniwookie, can we still Christmas cards mail to your old address?
Back to work,

jenny

Well I got my gold star this morning! I got on the scale and it finally moved down a pound and said 196. That silly scale has been stuck at 197 or more for months now so I was really glad to see it down a pound - I told yall I was being good last week! Now I have to be good today or it will be back up tomorrow hehe

its busy at work but I just wanted to share my good news.

hope everybody has a great OP day!

hugs, cathy

Good morning everyone!
Yesterday my DD and I did lots of holiday baking and candy making. Usually I have a will of iron, but I must admit that iron will was not the case yesterday! We made the most incredible caramels, some yummy gingersnaps, my favorite Hungarian poppyseed/almond cookies, chocolate-peanut butter bars and fudge! What was I thinking? Most of it gets sent to Arizona though, so it'll be gone! My DD had a Martha Stewart type idea for the caramels that made them even better. We wrapped each one in a bit of foil, just to keep them fresh. She decided they were too plain, so each one has a gold leaf (stripped from a piece of garland) glued on top. They are stunning! Martha would be proud! Definitely back OP today. My tummy doesn't feel so great after all those carbs, even though I didn't go overboard.

Peach, we finally got lights up too - sort of! I live in an old Victorian farmhouse with a white picket fence in front. I have garland swagged on it, with big red bows and white lights. Very pretty. I've been on a nag-a-thon to get DH to put lights up on the house, but NO! We have them at the ready, but he just doesn't want to do it. Could it possibly have something to do with the height of the roofline and the big wind we've been having? Nah! The good news though, is that I finally got a lighted deer sculpture. I love those things! The little fella is out front in all his lighted glory moving his head up and down. I'm going to add to my flock every year. I named this one Fluffy, much to DD's disdain. Which brings me to...

Ruth, what a great idea for the tomato cages. I'm stealing it today! That way, Fluffy can have a little forest. This is why you should be crowned "O Most Brilliant Moderator" or something like that.

Cathyxxx - Congratulations on your accomplishment. Good for you!

Enough already!
Have a great day all and drink your water!
