It's official! It's Christmas card exchange day and I'm getting ready to Pm out the list. Happy card writing!
I am up early to get my dh to work and my wee one to daycare becasue it's shopping time! I can now do this by myself without dd being there and I have to say the timing is perfect with Christmas around the corner! Going to Walmart and of course, the major grocery shop. This will keep me busy the morning and the afternoon will be all about Christmas crafts. Finished a couple of them last night but still have to spray finish them.
I can take those itchy thingies off my chest and return the monitor to the hospital today! It has been a bother, mostly cause when I walk, I sorta waddle and the monitor swings!
We went out to eat last night with the Ladies Aid and spouses. Was fun! (Any meal I don't have to cook is a good meal).
I haven't been following a diet, but I have been using common sense about food! Am trying to increase my water intake. This coming weekend I want to research multi-vitamins. I read that it is better to take the kind in which you have to take them two or three times a day rather than once. That way the body gets the vitamins when it needs them rather than a huge amount at once.
Makes sense to me!
I went into the chatroom last night at 9:00 and it was empty! Oh well! Everyone missed my witty charm
Take care now and God bless!
Its raining here and can't go out yet......well dont reall want to....the baby still has her cold. So we will just stare at eachother all day lololololhhhhhhhhaaaaa.
Slept in a bit this a.m. as I had a late meeting - well late for me is after 10 p.m.
Hey, Tip - bet you are glad that nonsense is over! For some reason I get the image of a cow with a swinging swollen udder but I am trying to push it back into my sub-concious!
Leens - hope you and Gracie get a chance to go out today. Rather than sit and stare why not start teaching her algebra or quantum physics? Or crafts.
Pooky - thanks so much for doing the Christmas list. Even if we don't get around to sending cards, at least we will have folks' home addies so we can sneak up on them and steal their Oreos! I've closed and unstuck the thread.
LindaBC - we DO so read your posts! Get those crafts done before Peter gets back as I'm sure he'll have a passle of office work for you. Passle? Where did that come from? Is it a word?
Hey, Kermit - glad you found us. With Linda in the west and you in the middle of Canada and me in the other middle, we just need a Maritimer or Newfie to have the country covered. I will respond to your emails - promise.
Drat! Gotta go move my car so DH can get out of the lane. He is off to get his driver's licence renewed - he had to write a test because of his age and is over the moon that he passed without having to drive! Anyhow, that gives me the morning to myself. Wonder what Raoul is doing. Where is that guy anyhow? Bet Jiff has him.
Good morning ya all; Think I'm going to live!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I actually feel almost human again. And am so excited!!!!! I've been missing so much staying stuck in the house. At least today I'm going out on the porch and breathe some good ole Ozark air!!! And If I feel really good might try to head for the lawn swing!! DH is off to the unemployment office. Its about an hour and half away from us, so that means I'm all alone and can do what ever I want.... hehehe...
Tippy- I've had to wear that monitor and am allergic to adhesive. When they took it off it was like boils.... Then theres another one you where for 30 days... oooooo thats a real pain. But its lots smaller and you can take it off every TWO days to bathe.....
Hope if I get a pm with the addresses on it I can find it......LOL...
Last night I got to meet with some old family friends from Alaska! We had such a great time and are meeting again this morning for breakfast!
I have been having a terrible two days. I think I'm coming down with the crud, DD #1 (age 5) is being a smarty pants and DD #2 (age almost 2) is hitting everyone and everything. This, coupled with a new puppy is making the stress marker hit the roof! Hopefully, it'll pass.
Right now time to get ready for breakfast and to take DD to preschool!
Have a great day everyone!

Well, I've almost completed four little boxes. Two of them have sponged pale blue backgrounds and one has pansies and the other has blackberries. Not a professional job but then I'm not a pro at this.
The other two boxes I painted black and they look quite striking, one with cherries and the other with strawberries. I'm having a little trouble with the strawberries but I think once I paint the stems and leaves they will look much more realistic. It is truly amazing the difference a bit of shading and highlighting makes. The cherries just looked like red blobs until I added a touch of white to highlight them. Now they look almost edible. What's really amazing to me is that people buy them. They're just the right size for a scarf or gloves, even a wallet or other smaller gift and no need to wrap.
Tomorrow I'll do my baking. I've decided to just keep it simple and bake some apple turnovers and raisin pies. Then I simply MUST get my house vacuumed and dusted before the boss returns home.
Tonight I'm going to a Pampered Chef party. Anybody been to one of those? I'd like to get out of it and stay home to watch the hockey game but I guess I'm stuck. That's all I need is more kitchen gadgets. Sheeesh!
Hope you're all having a nice day. Very windy and rainy here. So what else is new.
Now if you would all send me your craft stuff...maybe then I really could open that little old train station downtown!!!! Linda! I think those boxes sound adorable! I think I made something similiar painting the boxes yellow and then using cherries cut out of napkins and patio paint...they came out really nice but shoot seperating those plies of napkins made me nuts!!!
The big kid has been home half days for teacher's conferences so my days are kind of jumbled and I have not have too much time on the computer. I had his conference yesterday and he is doing just great and we are so proud of him and the little guy.
Bought and painted a shelf with pegs today to hang over my kitchen island. Hey! I had a 50% off coupon so it only cost me $6.99 for a 5 foot shelf! Hot Damn! (can we say Damn?) Which reminds me...Ruth...Raoul is part of Jiff's daily exercise program...but you didn't hear that from me!
Hi all!! Thanks Pooky for doing the Christmas Card exchange. We are getting back to normal around here. DH is getting ready for his THanksgiving hunting trip, he leaves Friday and will be gone all week....with my little brother. My older brother arrived back in Norfolk from the Persian Gulf on the USS Enterprise last weekend and will be HERE FOR THANKSGIVING!!!! I am very excited. my parents are coming too, the kids are really looking forward to it.
Thanks again to all for your support during my dog disaster. H ere is a picture for the darlings. the black one is Rikki and the brown one is Buffy.....
Ruth, you're udderly ridiculous!
It was WONDERFUL to take a shower! My skin is sore from all the tape, but DH promised to rub lotion on all the sore spots on my chest. Does he think I'm stupid or something!
When I brought the heart monitor to the hospital, the gentleman at the desk asked if I could bring it upstairs. I said no cause it was a heart monitor. Boy those words get people excited! Did the fool think I was going to drop over dead on his shoes or something!
The weather was fabulous today...in the 60's and tomorrow will be as nice. The deer hunters are not happy but, oh well!
