Daily for Wed. Oct. 17 (HUMP DAY)

  • Holy smokes! Where did October go?

Got my sister all moved yesterday - did not lift a finger but sure did lots of ordering around. The movers were cute and also really nice guys so it was not an onerous task. Based on the number of boxes that were to be stashed in the barn, there is gonna be one heck of a yard sale in the spring.

Really raining this a.m. I am going to have to wear my poncho to go to music this a.m. Hershey and I were out in the meadow this a.m. when it was just starting. The leaves look great but this rain will take them off the trees pretty fast.

After music, I am going to go shopping for some essentials for a young woman who has just got an apartment and has absolutely nothing but her clothing. She and her 3 year old boy were at a women's shelter after having to leave her home because of abuse. They slept on donated air mattresses, pillows and blankets last night. Today we will find her proper beds, a microwave, kitchen table, some dishes and whatever else is needed. I am also going to give her some fancy bath stuff that has been sitting in my gift closet for a while. She will need some luxuries. This kind of thing - abuse - really pisses me off!

Did not eat a single "extra" yesterday - and am still the same weight! Will glug lots more water today to see if that budges the blubber. (By extras, I mean things like a slice of brown bread with low fat cream cheese - I even have boring cheats these days!)

Whoops! Better get changed and work in a quick practice before I take off for music. Have a good day, everyone.
  • Ruth you really are an angel, I am glad I have the opportunity to get to know you and have someone like you as a friend, what an inspiration you are, always helping the needy.

Thanks for that firm words, I really needed it, good news the chocolate is still sealed and hiding in my bag. I only have an hour left then I am on my way home to give it to my DH to enjoy! I think I will feel proud of myself tomorrow if I resist, although I don’t feel very proud of myself now, I was not supposed to buy it in the first place. You know the funny thing was when the guy with the snack trolly pased me I said very polite “No thank you sir nothing for me”, but when he passes me on his way out I got up ran after him, shouting to please STOP AND WAIT FOR ME!!! For a minute I thought AAAAGGGG What the heck!, why not, tomorrow I will start fresh again, and I am longing for something sweet for a couple of days now. Tonight I am going to make myself a big bowl of diet jello.

For the rest of you guys to follow, have a nice day, talk to you tomorrow.

    Love you all.
  • Good morning to all,

Ruth you are a special person!!!

    Hensa, drink, drink!

COld her today 32 when I got up. YUK!

Not much planned today, just working. My parents are coming today for a visit, the kids are excited. I have completed 2.5 days of OP and am quite proud of myself. ONE DAY AT A TIME!!

Hope you all have a great day!!!!
  • Say Ruth, how would it be if all us LC posters would gang up on the abuser and give that person an attitude adjustment!
We had a very busy day yesterday. Hubby had a doctor appointment and I had lab work. After that we went shopping in about 4 stores and the mall.
Am feeling good lately and, gosh, I sleep so much better. I'm wondering how long my ticker hasn't been working well! For months I've been waking up so early and couldn't sleep and now I sleep like a rock.
I'll be doing the domestic thing today and maybe I'll get upstairs to the sewing room. I only have about a year of sewing and patching to do.
Take care all and God bless!
  • Good morning Everyone!

It's foggy here this morning. Again, wishing I lived on a foggy river somewhere (that never floods)!!

I went to the dentist yesterday. Oh my! That was NOT a walk in the park. I don't normally have any issues with the dentist, but after yesterday I may never go again! I need a crown on one of my teeth (it has a hairline fracture). So, I was injected with novacaine and as soon as the drill touched my tooth, I felt it. So, he injected me again. Again, I felt it. Finally, he drilled a little hole near the base of my tooth and injected the novacaine directly in to my tooth. That didn't hurt, I was already partially numb. But, boy oh boy! Did my tooth hurt after all the novacaine wear off. I ended up in bed from 4 in the afternoon until this morning!

So, I've been OP. (Especially yesterday when I could barely eat at ll). I wish I could get the gumption to get more exercise. It's my favorite time of the year, so you'd think I'd be more apt to get outside.

Take it easy, Ladies. It's time for me to run DD to school!
    Smile big!

  • Happy Hump Day!

Went to a Longerberger party and spent $170! Ouch, I often feel so guilty spending that kinda money on baskets, but I love them. And I was helping a friend make sales at her party. For those who know Longerberger, I bought the medium star basket with a lid and pottery insert. Along with some other little extras. I always tell myself never again will I spend that much, until the next party comes along.

Hensa, have you considered anonymously slipping that chocolate to a co-worker. It could be a long trip home, sitting in your purse calling out your name and begging for attention.

Ruth, you are such an With all the bad in the world it is wonderful that there are people like you. Bless you. My prayers go out to that dear mother and her child, at least she is taking the right steps.

Scooby congrats on the 2.5 op days!

Tippy so glad you are feeling so much better.

Jenniwookie, sorry about the dental experience, sounds like a bummer. Me I am weird, I enjoy going to the dentist.

Leens, lucky you, I wish I was getting a new sofa, maybe not till next year.

Jennifer, welcome back, sounds like you made some very level headed decisions about your eating. Good for you!

    Wishing all an op day!

  • Hello and good afternoon my friends!

My ISP has severely PO'd me and my dh so much so that we are considering changing (and we have cable internet!) to high speed just so we can get online when we want to!
On top of that it is SNOWING!!!! I mean, blizzard like snowing!

I am having a rough day, can you tell? The only good thing out of today is that I ahd some lovely lamb burgers for lunch--nice and spicy and a unique taste.

Oh Jenny, I get going to candle parties all the time and end up walking out with all kinds of stuff too! last one I bought some spicy cookie scented candles for Christmas!

Jenniewookie, don't even get me started on the dentist--I'm one of those pass out type people upon having any dental work done and I have to have a close and trusting relationship with my dentist before I do anything. Last time I had a double root canal that got infected and had to be redrilled. Was laid up for 2 days over that one!

Tippy, I'm so glad that you are taking care of yourself and not letting the signs pass you by. Good heart health is important--just for inof, you should check out the Heller's Healthy Heart Program book--very interesting stuff!

Ruth, you are such an angel . You have no idea what your thoughtfulness means to someone who is escaping an abusive situation. Having done so myself many years ago, a helping hand and a shoulder to cry on are the best things a woman fleeing from abuse can have. God Bless you!

Have a fabulous day Leens, Scooby. Hensa and all those to come!

  • Anybody seen Debkay? Just in case you're lurking Ms. Debbie, the Diamondbacks beat the Braves last night! My second favorite team is going to do it! Woo Hoo!
Hensa Did you get over the chocolate hump? I sure hope so! That's one reason I love CAD so much. If I just have to have some, I save it for my Reward Meal and I eat every bit and enjoy!
Ruth Was one of those cute moving guys our own Raul? That's probably why we haven't heard from Ms. Peach today.

I have to go, but first I wanted to tell you that I hauled my jiggly butt to a Jazzercise class today and actually did the whole thing! I used to love going (about a hundred years ago), but I was so afraid that my joints would kill me if I went now. Then I figured that they hurt no matter what, so what's the difference? I sweated a river and feel really good. So, hopefully I'll be going every Monday, Wednesday and Friday.

    Later chicks,
