Wink Daily ~ Monday ~ Oct 8

Good morning everyone!

I hope you all enjoyed your weekend. Our modem is not working so I could not post the pictures as promised. Has been OP the whole weekend, we attended a wedding of a relative on Saturday and after the church service they served pastries, fruitjuice and wine. I only had some water THAT’S ALL!! Afterwards I felt very proud of myself and did not feel like I missed out on anything.

Close to our house is a “rosefarm”, every year they have a rose show. Yesterday afternoon my mom, sister-in-law and me left all the men at home and went to the show. The not only sell the roseplants but they also exporter fresh cut roses to other countries, they had wagons you can get on one and they take a drive through the fields. The colors are spectacular and the air is filled with the scent of roses. They had a large display all the different types of roses in a hall. In the one corner there were a huge display of one type of rose, the roses was from the ground to the ceiling about a 10 meters wide. The roses were huge pink flowers with the most delightful fragrant. Between the roses were photos of the attack on the World Trade Centrum and the Pentagon and in the middle the name of the roses and the meaning of the name.

This rose starts carrying flowers before all the roses, early September. The name of the plant is “Isidingo” which mean The Need. The Need for peace and love, we don’t need horrible terrorist attacks on innocent people. As we stood infront of the wall covered with pink roses, smelling the lovely fragrance that filled the whole room we couldn’t help thinking of all the innocent people that had to pay with there lives. My immediate thoughts were with all the friends that I made on this board.

Now wonder most of you have flue, I would also catch a cold if I ran around in my birthsuit. I had a big laugh after reading about your plan, and then on the weekend thread to hear of all the flues and colds that is in the air LOL~ LOL~ LOL.
I would like to hear if the plan worked. My boss is a Moslem and some days he drives me crazy. I can imagine what will happen if I ran around naked. I think most of my fellow employees will faint after seeing my BIG WHITE BUD. LOL

Default morning,yuk

Monday morning, what else is there to say? Double coffee, and a hot shower. And a prayer. That's the ticket, that should get me out the door!

Columbus Day is not a day off for me, so I am off to the salt mines, as usual. The commute has been hellish(but thanks for thinking of me, Peach)

I've not been able to sit at the computer much lately, so just get on and off to check e-mail. I am taking a business class at night, and working a lot of hours, so just can stop in for a quick fix- I am not dieting at all, just "holding on."

So, congrats to Chickadee-WTG!
Welcome back Linda!! WOW, new car! NICE!
Pooky, that baby is too sweet!
Hi Hensa, I'm still touched by the connection the WTC/Pentagon has created around the world- love the images of all the roses!
Roothie-hope you are enjoying your house-sitting
Scooby, you made me bring my CALP book to work with me today- maybe it'll get me going!

Who asked about the coffee shake? I use 6 or 8 ox coffee and 1/2 and1/2 or soy milk with 1/2 scoop of chocolate protein powder and some extra splenda. If I need it, I add some powdered metamucil, for bulk and thickness. Voila! Frappucino!

Hi to everyone else, Janice, Debkay, JPH, DonDar, Leens, AdoAnnie, Tippy, Nasus, who else? You know who you are! Have a great day!

BOO!
There, you all have been boo'ed! No m&m's but have a string cheese on me!

dottie

Happy Thanksgiving to all my fellow Canadians and Happy Columbus Day to my American friends!

I was deprived of turkey yesterday, my grandma made a roast pork that was just delicious. I ate far too much, loved every minute of it so today is s trict OP plan--what can I say, it was Thanksgiving!

Mom and baby are doing just great. My SIL is still on a catheter, the baby messed her up pretty bad coming inot this world--delivered by forceps no less! Right now it's just a struggle to get the breast feeding going on but I told her not to worry, itmay take a while, same thing happened to me whne I had Miree.

Peach, that's awesome news, so glad to hear that Jiff is at home now. Soon, the surgery will start and it will be a whole different kettle of fish, eh?

Hensa, those roses sound just divine! I would love to have some growing right now if it weren't for the inch of snow I got this morning!!

Have a great OP day to everyone!

Sue, how did you get all those cutie smiley things?

Hello,
Hensa You are a hoot! I love reading your posts. You made me happy and sad within the space of a minute. The roses sound glorious. I'm sure your boss would enjoy a "Rosey Butt"!

Pooky If you stuck to the pork roast and not all the other wonderful stuff that I imagine was there, you're probably fine! That's why I love LC so much!

Ms. Peach That's great news about Jif. What a relief, huh?

Dottie It sounds like holding on right now is a good thing to do. It seems to me that your life is about as full as it can get without adding more stress. You'll get back on when you're ready.

As for me, I teach a class in basic internet skills at the elementary school every year and today's the day I start. I only do it for a few days, but what a lot of work! I will have 30 third graders and a couple of mom helpers all clicking and scrolling and hopefully listening as I tell them about the wonders of cyber space! It amazes me how much their teachers don't know about using computers. I guess when you're the queen of ebay it seems almost second nature! The hard part is that some of the kids are online every day and probably know more than I do and then some will have had no exposure whatsoever.
If I don't get some sleep tonight I think I'm gonna start sleeping on the couch! My husband insists on listening to the radio when we go to bed (Art Bell for all you talk show fans!) and the topics of conversation lately have made me sleepless and a little nuts. I have a hard time getting to sleep with talk of possible retaliation moves and such. Maybe I'll clean in there and, oops... drop the radio.
Bye for now,
Chickadee

Is it the Bhuddists or the Hindus who say "**** happens"? Thank heavens for surgical gloves! And they are not Shitzus! 6 dogs process lots of stuff!
Am off to bed now for sweet dreams, I hope.
