For swimsuits: check out LandsEnd. I have had luck with theirs for years in all sizes that I have been for both daily lap swimming as well as recreation. I have had luck with deals on their clearance area especially.

I've always had troubles with getting the shape that im looking for and even worst when its close to summer. I know this isnt a long term route but it helps alot!

Charity shops! I get lots of my clothes there. Though for bigger ladies, the sizes usually peter out around UK size 22.
Especially useful if you're always bouncing up and down in size. George is great too.
