Default Varicose vein(s)

I've got an embarrassing issue with the appearance of a varicose vein or possibly veins which has appeared on my thigh just above me knee. I'm currently 68kg (149pounds) but have lost just over 27kg (60pounds) and its only just come up where I thought being less heavy would mean I would have them?? It's so ugly, sticks up and means I can't wear anything showing my knees Any ideas how to get it to disappear again? Or know why I've suddenly got one now? I'm 35 if that counts. Thanks Oh and my knee area feels 'achy' which I assume is from the vein.

It's normal for women of any size to get them. My mum has a lot of them on her legs and she is thin. You can't make them go away unless they are so severe they need surgery. If it's feeling achy you should get it checked out by a doctor.

I have loads of them. It's hereditary, my Mother has even more than I do and she is and always has been thin.

There are things you can do. If it is the kind that is right under the skin (very very thin and red/purple) and really look like spider veins you can get rid of them at the dermatologist. They do a little injection and poof they're gone. If they are deeper, thicker and blueish they need surgery.

To help avoid them it is recommended you do not stand for too long, and wear compression stockings. And never expose them to the sun!

Yes, they can be hereditary. They can also be brought on by weight, menopause, and/or thyroid issues. I only discovered that because I didn't know that I had varicose veins until I saw a doctor for swelling in my legs, ankles and feet a couple of years ago. Mine is not hereditary. On top of discovering the varicose veins, I have DVT (deep vein thrombosis) in one leg that needs to be monitored. I've had surgeries for the varicose veins and things are much better now. Please go see a vein specialist. If yours is puffy and bulging, it very well may be more than just a spider vein. Good luck

Wear a compression stocking and take it easy until them. A little bit of advil may help calm the inflammation, keep your foot elevated when you can. I'm sorry you have some pain!

This does not sound like any varicose vein that I've ever had...I'm glad you are getting it checked out

I have a few on my legs, some spidery and red/purple and some less visible but look bulgy. It's never given me physical problems and I couldn't care less that they are on my legs. I still wear whatever I want to wear and no one has ever remarked on it.

Have been to the dr this morning. He has sent me for an ultrasound and then will refer me to a vascular surgeon for treatment. He assured me he has seen many that are far worse than mine but since mine popped up suddenly he wants to check it out completely. I am going to have it lasered I hope, in any case I'm too vain to have it on display so I need to have something done about it. He also talked about a daily dose of aspirin and elevate/rest my leg. Will update as to what the ultrasound reveals.

I fixed to venorid vein serum after my legs started developing redness on veins because of varicose veins. This is just perfect and the redness disappeared after continuing venorid.

My mom has got rid of her varicose veins with Venorid Varicose Veins serum. She said that it doesn’t have any other allergies and it makes me to relax after using.
