Default How do you treat yourself? (:

I don't know why but when I want to treat myself a bit and just get myself to feel a bit better (especially if I'm feeling a bit sick) I find body/hydrating lotion after a shower to be so refreshing! You smell really nice and your skin feels lovely.

What are your little treats to yourself? (Can be food related, too, just asking in general!)

Pedicures and facials. DIY ones at home and professional ones.

Definitely perfume. I love how indulgent it feels.

Meditation. It's a gift to myself.

i treat myself to some peaceful time at the beach with the wind and rocks and waves....or time on a walk through the ancient rainforest trees on a trail....

i'm not into body-care stuff in general and have mild sensory issues with "things" on my skins...but i will definitely take the time when i can to get out by myself in nature...someone called it a "soul recharge" and that really fits

New clothes and cosmetics!

The problem is that I treat myself with these way too often...

Massages, facials, and pedis

I'm also about to start Invisalign, which was a pretty big financial commitment so I guess that's a treat

Talking

I buy new video games or books, or something nice for my house.

I'm going to purchase Wii Fit U as my reward for reaching 25 lbs of weight loss.

I also took my boyfriend out to Olive Garden (but I had salmon and broccoli)...and I guess my splurge was getting the calamari appetizer which was a half size.

I just discovered Lush cosmetics and bought a facial mask for every Friday night (yes, my life is SO exciting LOL) and then a salt scrub for special pick-me-up days. Their stuff is so expensive but my DH was so sweet buying everything for me. He knows I'm trying so hard and wanted me to have some special stuff.

My smaller splurges are nail polishes, stuff from Charming Charlies (cute stuff and reasonably priced!), and shopping the smaller racks at Lane Bryant (I used to be so big, their biggest clothes were tight on me ).

And my last splurge will sound silly but it's a gym membership that includes exercise classes. It's very expensive (to me) but it pays for itself when I take 6-8 classes a week, burning calories and getting a little social.

Shoes and nail polish!! That way I don't feel guilty about buying new clothes that (hopefully) won't fit in a few months, or clothes that don't fit now!

Historically, I've been HORRIBLE at self care - so getting into a good skincare routine day and night has been a treat for myself.

Books, a Coffee, a new crochet hook/yarn, nail polish, @home spa day. If it's a big reward I would go for a video game.

I have just discovered a tub of avocado butter sitting in the bathroom cupboard. It's five years old but doesn't smell rancid, so I'm using it. It makes the most amazing hand cream! I'm trying to grow my nails as I am being loaned a wire harp next month, and generally have dry skin on my hands. Also I'm putting a bit into my hair when it's still wet, and so far it seems to be an excellent hair oil too. I've got some blue glass jars on the way and will divide it up into those, so that I've got some at my partner's flat and can put in essential oils. I'm thinking myrrh and ginger, for helping heal skin and hopefully for keeping my hands a bit warmer. Although is ginger a skin irritant? Would rosemary be better, or would that be a bit too much of a stimulant if I put it on at night? Probably not in those quantities, I suppose.
