What will you gift yourself with when you lose the weight?

I'm sure I'm not the only one who fantasizes about what their life will be like when they finally lose weight. Everything like being active, daily confidence, clothes shopping, will all somehow be better! But is there one dangling carrot that you will reward yourself with when you finally succeed? A vacation, a cruise, plastic surgery, what will you gift yourself with?

For me I've got it all planned out. When I lose the weight I'm going to hire a personal stylist. I've already researched it and found someone in my area and have even spoken with her about it. She will come and pair down my closet, get rid of anything that doesn't fit or look good on me. She'll then take me shopping and help me get all the basic things that I need, you know like a good pair of jeans and black pants, a trenchcoat, a LBD, a bathing suit (yikes) etc. Then she'll style me for several outfits and take pictures of me in those outfits and create a look-book of my closet so that I can recreate those outfits myself. Sort of like a closet directory hehe! I've started a special savings account just for this! I've been so motivated just by planning this!

Lilytoby 04-04-2013 07:16 AM

I have permission to take £100 from my savings account for each stone I lose (The account my family set up when I was born) - I'm going to take it all out when I hit goal (probably £300) and buy myself all those pretty clothes I've always wanted :D I even have a private Tumblr full of the clothes I'm going to buy, I use it as inspiration.

Psychic 04-04-2013 07:33 AM

Once I reach my weight goal of 150 pounds, I'm going to get my first tattoo. :)

out from under 04-04-2013 07:44 AM

I'll have a shopping spree with around 1000 dollars to spend on a new wardrobe.

watchoutforthatcar 04-04-2013 10:16 AM

I have several things I'm going to get for myself when I finally hit official goal weight.

Third ear hole piercing
Tattoo(s)
Mani/Pedi (Normally I do these myself and only a handful of times have I gone to actually get these done but I'll actually pay to have it done this time)
Buy all new clothes
Get a puppy
Go to Kings Island/and or Kentucky Kingdom if it's open back up by that time (I haven't been to an amusement park for several years now and I was heavy back then too so it was never fun. I want to be small, wear whatever I want, and ride all the rides that I can)

That's it for right now. I'm most excited about the clothes. I look at clothes sites all the time trying to figure out what my style is going to be and what I like. I've realized that I'm a girly girl so I can't wait to buy clothes that actually show off that. I used to love wearing shorts and skirts and dresses. Can't wait to get back into that stuff! To officially wear juniors..I'm salivating just thinking about it...lmao.

Daki 04-04-2013 11:34 AM

Oh my gosh, the personal stylist sounds like so much fun! That's a great reward!

I'm going to get two fear themed tattoos on my thighs. One thigh will say "Expose yourself to your deepest fear" with a mashup of two or three of the most personally frightening Stephen Gammell illustrations (Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark). The other thigh will read "After that fear has no power" with something I drew representing my fear of death and decay. This is a weight loss goal and a fitness goal (Nice legs through running and weight lifting) that I'm not allowed to get until after my wedding. This is so I have to maintain it for a bit and also so I don't spend hundreds of dollars on the tattoos when I have a wedding to pay for.

mandypandy2246 04-04-2013 11:53 AM

My friends are going to throw me a party when I lose 50lbs!!! I see that this sort of sounds condescending - but actually it was my idea. Even though I have much more than 50 lbs to lose, at the beginning that seemed practically unattainable to me - so I decided to add motivation - I am having a party and a bunch of friends are promising me presents for when I reach that goal!

penmage 04-04-2013 02:05 PM

Shopping spree! Hoping it will coincide with either my birthday (September) or Christmas, for the extra spending money I get around that time

Mozzy 04-04-2013 02:30 PM

I'm gonna have a baby :-)

pixiefalls 04-04-2013 02:34 PM

I'm hoping to do a little dream vacation and go shopping for new clothes in person! This is pretty huge seeing as we don't have an actual mall anywhere near by. Maybe even a spa day. These all sound fabulous!

Radiojane 04-04-2013 02:35 PM

Clothes of course...

But I'm going on a vacation. A big one. Haven't decided exactly where or what yet, but I have 150 pounds to make up my mind :)

AlmostMe 04-04-2013 03:37 PM

There's a dress shop that I pass almost every day. It has beautiful dresses and suits that I just drool over. I think it's a bespoke dressmaker. I love the colours, the fabrics, the style. I will buy myself a dress from that shop - but only when I have a suitable event to attend. They are very, very dressy.

Pink Hurricane 04-04-2013 09:38 PM

When I reach Onederland, I'm going to get my cover up tattoo.
When I reach the 180s, I am going to get my second tattoo on my forearm.
Also when I reach the 180s, which is my goal weight range, I am going to buy a flattering bathing suit, two new dresses, a pair of heels, a new corset, three new bras, and new panties!

My husband and I are taking our honeymoon later this year, so I hope to be in Onederland by then!

Roo2 04-04-2013 09:46 PM

Surgery! 200,000 mile overhaul!

April Snow 04-05-2013 12:06 AM

I'm going to buy a necklace to wear all the time - to represent the journey and also to be a tangible reminder to stay on track.

Right now, I'm thinking something like this, but the style I decide on may change by the time I get there!

LadyP2013 04-05-2013 12:34 AM

Lots and lots of clothes. :) My favorite

amandie 04-05-2013 12:39 AM

I really love the personal stylist reward goal!

Originally I've always wanted to get a huge tattoo for the final goal. I have a few ideas of what I want for my tattoo but nothing set in stone yet. My ultimate goal is to go on a dream vacation to somewhere beach-y with a lot of activities- jetskis, ziplines, rafting, hiking, etc.

Palestrina 04-06-2013 08:06 AM

These are all great! I'm surprised so many will get tattoos!

Misti in Seattle 04-06-2013 10:05 AM

Well, the thing I wanted most out of it is coming soon! My boobs are so massive that they are causing musculoskeletal damage and I can hardly stand up straight. Sooooo my surgeon has decided I have reached the point where it is time for the reduction surgery! I started working with him last July and my huge goal was to get to this place! So slightly less than a month from now I will e "boobless in Seattle" LOLOL Yayyyyyyyyyyyyy

Yey that's amazing! I've considered a reduction as well but will wait and see what happens after the weight loss. Good for you!

I was planning to lose as much weight as I could, too, first... but I hit a 3 month plateau, while sticking to my plan, so my surgeon said that is the time to go forward (and he said NOT to change my eating plan to something more extreme). Plus it is causing serious health issues for me... I can't stand up straight. My doctor and chiro also said it is time... my arms and legs are really skinny but all my extra weight is concentrated in boobs and stomach (that will be next) so they all think I should do it now rather than wait. So I am going for it!!!

Coffeelover64 04-06-2013 06:23 PM

Probably a lower-face/neck lift. Maybe the whole face, neck, and a tummy tuck. Must start buying lottery tickets! :D

wannaskipandlaugh 04-06-2013 08:44 PM

2 goals..... Onederland... Gonna spend a happy weekend at Disney World and an annual pass! (good place to walk away the lbs.

Once I get to my actual goal... Gonna find a nice, loving, kind, man and make whoopie. (its been toooooooo long) Yep... and then get a breast lift.

IanG 04-06-2013 09:18 PM

A Ferrari.

Off topic - The word chiro caught my eye here and thought I'd share my experience with you. I've never been to a chiropractor and never will. Have you ever heard of osteopathy? I'm someone who often suffers with injuries from my line of work and I see an osteopath to help me recover. Osteopathy is an extremely gentle form of medical treatment. They perform skeletal manipulation and prefer holistic and/or homeopathic forms of treatment. Pharmaceutical intervention is the absolute last option. I definitely don't want to want to step on toes but osteopathic medicine has changed my life quite literally and without the pain of physical therapy. If you want to know more about it please PM me because I feel strongly that it could be beneficial to a lot more people for any range of maladies, and primary those with muscular skeletal injuries.

I've known a couple of osteopaths by the way and they've both told me that the person who invented chiropractic (I think his name is Palmer?) actually went to school for osteopathy but dropped out and started this practice based on the little knowledge he came away with. Osteopaths on the other hand are actual doctors with a medical degree and are licensed in all areas of medicine including obstetrics, surgery, etc. Just saying, I've seen a lot of people in my field who have worsened with chiropractic care, and since I found osteopathy I've been progressively and dramatically gotten better.

I have to say, I am somewhat surprised too. I didn't think many people would get/like tattoos. For me, I personally love tattoos so I figure why not to use something I like to motivate me, ya know? It will also be a symbol of my journey and everything (if I ever am able to put it in words to make the artist understand what I want.) :) I have a small savings account set for the tattoo, it's gonna be $$$ for sure, not to mention the clothes I will have to buy when I get to goal since I have nothing that will fit me at 135, lol!

belovedspirit 04-07-2013 10:34 PM

275 lbs (soon :D) - A pedicure (first ever :))
250 lbs - TBD
225 lbs - a ring (the first time I'll wear a ring!!!)
200 lbs - a matt & nat purse
175 lbs - some new clothing :)

My reward for 150lbs (or 155lbs) will be a trip abroad.

Palestrina 04-08-2013 06:34 AM

It's also surprising how many people have never gotten a pedicure. That's amazing because I can't even comfortably reach my toes to give myself an effective pedi, how do y'all do it? Go au natural? I wouldn't be caught dead without a pedi and if I try to paint my own nails it looks like a 4yr old did them lol!

PaintedPonies 04-08-2013 01:10 PM

Man, I have SO many prizes!

I'm now at 173, and my birthday is in 5 weeks. If I can get into the mid 160s by my bday, I will buy so many gifts for myself :D

SuperHeroTeacher 04-08-2013 09:57 PM

I'm planning a beach vacation for when I reach goal - probably Hawaii, but nothing in stone yet.

I like that so many of you have mini rewards along the journey! Off to set mini rewards now...

Coldsoup 04-09-2013 03:38 AM

Once I'm small enough to actually wear short shorts, I'm going to get treatment for the UGLY little purple spider veins all over the backs of my legs.

Rhiko 04-09-2013 04:09 AM

Gosh, I haven't really thought about it. I guess my gift will be a son or a daughter. It's the only reason I'm doing this so I can have a child (and remain a healthy weight for the rest of my life, of course). In fact, I'm hoping my dramatic weight loss will convince the fertility doctors to give me two babies! I'm NOT going to budge on that, especially since it will probably be my only pregnancy :crossed::lifter:
Otherwise, my gift will be knowing I can wear whatever I like and not be criticised :)

The best gift of all

Sum38 04-09-2013 07:55 AM

This may sound kinda vain, but I would really like to have my tummy done. With all this weight gain, plus having two big (10 lbs) babies, my tummy area is a mess, no matter how skinny I get.

Hubby and I talked about it, and if I hit 125 pounds I think I'll go for it.

I am apple shape and stomach always gets the weight first, but it is last to go down. I am hoping this would give me more of an hourglass shape at the end. -- When I am at goal, my legs and arms look fab...just that darn belly.

Nichole2013 04-09-2013 10:46 PM

Every ten pounds lost i reward with something small that i really want, it helps keep me on track ! Nothing big, things like a facial, new videogame, or tickets to a movie i really want to see.

however once i reach my longterm goal I plan on having an upper and lower body lift done ! i have soo much loose skin i feel like a human jellyfish.

celigirl88 04-10-2013 09:15 AM

I have a couple things. Definitely more tattoos. I already have 15, but there is this back piece I am DYING for, but have come to the conclusion I would like to be smaller and more toned before I go there. Also, a new wardrobe. I usually go through my clothes once every 3 months and get rid of things that I bought and don't wear anymore or put them in my "motivation" drawer to get me to work harder each time I look in there. I definitely want "back dermals" which are piercings, and my boyfriend made a pact that if I get to 135 by May 10 - he will get them for me. I have a month so we will see!

Teaa 04-10-2013 12:37 PM

Once I get down to my goal weight.. I plan to:

Go on a Vegas trip with my girls (July) Get myself to those pool parties and into a tiny bikini
Shop for a new wardrobe, Christian Louboutin shoes and makeup =D
Hire a personal trainer and nutritionist

That's about it for 2013

Jennifer1966 04-10-2013 05:16 PM

It all depends on DD's final college costs! At the least I'll need a new wardrobe!

Lecomtes 04-10-2013 05:27 PM

Oooh! Wannabeskinny, I love your idea, I might just have to steal that one! lol! Actually, I already bought my reward. haha! I have NEVER owned an article of clothing that costs for than maybe $40 bucks, even that is pushing it as I usually shop thrift stores. When I made my commitment this past Dec. I mentioned to my fiance I wanted a nice dress in a size 12 to hang in front of my treadmill (a literal dangling carrot). He surprised me with a gorgeous fitted dress that is probably the nicest thing I've ever owned on my birthday. All the dresses I wear now are black (aka slimming), this one is royal blue. :) I imagine myself in it daily. :)
Loved reading all you ladies' ideas! I can't wait to read about it more on the GOAL page! :) Best of luck!

thinkfit 04-10-2013 11:09 PM

I really want a KRMA Jade leather jacket, but even when I'll look good in one, I can't imagine dropping that much on a jacket. We'll see!
