Default Bought a dress!

I never, ever, ever wear dresses. Well, I take that back- I wore one when I was a maid-of-honor this June, but that doesn't count, does it?

But I'm enjoying my newfound feeling of confidence and new connection with my body, so I'm celebrating it with this (super discounted, thanks labor day sale) little black dress!

Now I'll just have to go out next weekend

Anyone else avoid dresses like they're the plague?

I enjoy wearing dressed much more now... I feel you have to be very confortable with your own body to show legs and everything!

GORGEOUS dress, kelly315!

It's cute!! At my heaviest I lived in dresses just because I then I only had to buy one thing that fit vs pants and a shirt. I've kind of gone the opposite way now and tend to wear more pants and fitted shirts.

Very nice! I love dresses and think they can be flattering at any size.

I agree. I wear pants most of the time but I get more compliments when I wear dresses. I'm in the camp that says everyone should have a LBD in their closet.

Yep, avoided them for years and year (except for special occasions, and then they were always long). I wore one to work last week for the first time in about 10 years!

Most my wardrobe are dresses. I find them very flattering. They just have to be the right cut for your shape.

very cute!

i was actually the opposite, i found that i wore more skirts/dresses when i was bigger because you could get rouching/pleats and baubles to mask imperfections, then i wore / still own a bunch of dresses that got me through a size 14-8 without buying clothes, they went from form fitting to big potato-sack type dresses.

i actually find that i wear a lot more jeans/plain fitted tshirt combinations now, because they show off the curves/deffinition i have - it's funny, i've developed a defined tummy, but i have the dreaded flap, so if i tuck it into my jeans, the rest of my tummy looks stacked. hahahahaha

i absolutely love dresses! i used to be a complete tomboy, so you can only imagine my mother's thrill when i hit high school and found out that wearing dresses was a common thing for ladies!

I absolutely detest wearing dresses at this size. I wore one to my work Xmas party last year and hated it... I felt like half a person on top with 2 tree trunks sticking out the bottom of my skirt. I can't wait to wear more girly things on occasion when I'm thin! Skater dresses, mini kilts, bodycon dresses... Though I'll probably just live in combats and a vest top most of the time

I gained all my weight very evenly and have really big legs. I avoid dresses like the plague because I can't bear to have my cankles on display. Hopefully one day, I'll feel more confident and will have dresses as part of my wardrobe.

They make beautiful clothes for plus size women. I think we get to a stage that if we are not a size zero then we can't possible wear a dress. I say the sooner you get into a dress that suits you the better you will start to feel about yourself. Don't limit yourself, we are so much more judgemental of ourselves. Go out on a good feeling day and buy yourself a dress, you are a woman, and deserve to feel like one.
