Default Significance of the skinny clothes

It's kind of cool when you can go closet shopping, put on some skinny clothes that you had packed away, and remember significant things about the last time you wore them.

Five years ago, I had just begun gaining weight. I was going to go to a conference, which of course meant I got to buy new clothes. In my case, I kind of had to buy new clothes because I was growing out of mine, and I needed something nice to wear. I bought these capris from Old Navy, and put them away for my trip. By the time the trip rolled around, they had already gotten too tight! I remember how devastated I was. I couldn't go buy yet more clothes, though, and since these would still go up and zip, I wore them. I felt like a big fat cow.

People came from all over to attend this conference, and I happened to meet this girl from the same city as me. We talked and planned to meet, but never did manage to get together before I lost her number.

Recently, we met again on facebook and decided to meet today for lunch. I wore the same capris that I wore 5 years ago, only this time they fit! They're even just the slightest bit loose after sitting and stretching them out a little bit. When I realized the last time I wore these capris, I was at this conference where I met this same girl, only I was heavier, I thought, "How cool is this?".

It's just such a sweet victory for me!

Anyone else have any significant clothes stories?

I had a button up blouse that I wore when I met my husband for the first time. It was the only thing that I kept from when I was smallish. I gained weight over the span of 15 years and go rid of all of my old smaller clothing. After loosing 40+ pounds I wore that blouse for the first time this week. It fits!

I don't really have too many "skinny" clothes because I was the same size for years and grew up overweight.

I DID have one pair of size 14 pants with no stretch that I wore in middle school after losing weight from a 16. They're the equivalent of about a size 10 today.

I couldn't even button them for the longest time after I gained weight in high school. I remember thinking: "if I could get into those pants, I will be fine."

I remember when I FINALLY fit into them last year! It was awesome!

I finally got rid of them a few days ago. They wouldn't even stay up anymore.

A couple of weeks ago I fit into my favorite skirt from college, and Old Navy pencil skirt. About 12 years old. I wore it as I was desperate and I had a meeting, and then I realized that it actually didn't fit well anymore. IT was too big. Score! Then I went to the ANn Taylor outlet because I realized that was pretty much my last skirt, all the rest in my closet are too big! I really should stop getting pencil skirts, they look horrible when too big!
