Sigh....I've been using Avon forever. I'm 36 (I know, not that old relatively speaking) and I remember when I was around 4 or 5; the "Avon lady" would drive around in the country and visit all the houses. It was always so exciting when she would come around and Granny would order the little fruit and candy flavored lip balms for us! I still love those--the smell of them takes me right back. . . .

Oh god lol really you triggering all the old memories, I do remember something quite similar, I am the youngest of 4 girls and my sisters and mom would always invite the Avon lady for some tea while the girls would pick their products and in a week or so they receive their order. I remember when I was 16 I ordered some eyeliner and lipsticks.

You have a very fancy collection there!! How are the Chanel/Dior face products, those are two lines I never owned anything from but am dying to experiment with one day! Btw have you tried the YSL Rouge Volupte?? It's AMAZING.

Thank you :)

I love Chanel's foundations, they are a good investment! Its quite smooth when applying and gives a natural final look. Chanel's skin care products are to die for lol I love their creams and toners. I have a very sensitive skin so I try not to use something heavy on me.

As for Dior, I don't remember if I used their foundation, but I do use their eyeliners/eyeshadow/blushes and they are great!

Ohh yes! I love the YSL Rouge Volupte, I have it in Tender Peach and Lingerie Pink (cute names btw lol).

I've been wanting to try Tender Peach! I need to get another Luscious pink sometime soon! For anyone who wants to splurge on a lipstick, these will not disappoint!

Wow. Feeling different. I wear nothing. I don't own much beyond some lip stick (red because I feel fabulous). I can't imaging spending so much time/energy/money on make up.

I totally do this!! I could spend hours doing makeup!!! It's like therapy for me! I've been using makeup as my "prizes" for every lbs I lose, so 5lbs lost $5 something, if i lose 10 lbs then i can spend $10! haha it's lame but when I go to sephora and see products I get motivated!

Oh and I agree covergirl sucks!! I'm using Supercurl by Urban Decay (90% of my makeup is UD) but I'm trying to explore now! it works great by lengthening and separating but it's just not enough volume! Guess I'll need to lose a good 40lbs before I can buy Diorshow. You know everyone seems to love Great Lash but I just can't get it to work for me...still looking for that cheap but awesome mascara!

Oh yeah Great Lash is by no means anything special. It's just really cheap and doesn't flake. I think that's what makes it so popular. Ha ha I'm so glad you don't like covergirl either! I have not found a single one of their products to be decent. I actually haven't tried a lot of Urban Decay stuff so now I'm curious if I should try some more form that line.

Although didn't I just say I wasn't going to waste any more money on makeup? LOL

My holy grail mascara is L'oreal Voluminous Carbon Black. I was recently watching a video on YouTube and learned Kim K's makeup artist Mario uses this on her! Its cheap and works great! I've tried others, both high & low end and love this one!
I also agree about YouTube. I am constantly watching makeup reviews & tutorials. My favorite gurus are Gossmakeupartist (the man is a makeup genius!) and Emilynoel.

JerseyGyrl I think I found my HG mascara!!! It works so well! Thank you SO much for the recommendation! I went back and bought another because I liked it so much, it works almost as well the Urban Decay supercurl!

lol - fish against the current, here, but i don't feel anything without makeup (attractive or not - just neutral) but i feel totally kabuki with it on.

it's just too much trouble - if i didn't have to go through the whole song-and-dance with the lip thing and the contour thing and so on, i'd probably like it.

Face:
Maybelline New York Super Stay 24h in 'Ivory'
Collection 2000 Cover up stick (spot concealer) in 'Translucent'
Collection 2000 Illuminating Touch (light diffusing concealer) in 'Naked'
BLUSH in 'Bashful'

Eyes:
Collection 2000 24h Felt Tip Liner in either 'Indigo' or 'Black'
Collection 2000 Longer Lash Waterproof mascara in 'Black'

Lips:
Vaseline OR Max Factor Lipfinity Lip Tint Pen in 'Petal'

I like to keep it quite basic and natural. If I'm going out at night I'll jazz it up with either a silver/grey smokey eye or a bright red lip :)

This is by no means "daily" - as a SAHM I'm usually content with coming a little conditioner into my ends and pinning the front of my hair, some lip balm and that's it. :(

When I do my face, unless it's a special event (which is more, of course!):

Face/ Aveeno moisturizer with sunscreen
L'oreal Perfect Match liquid foundation as concealer, only if needed
Bouncy Blush (Maybelline?) in peach

Eyes/ L'oreal's liquid eyeliner pen in blackity black black
Almay mascara in you guessed it, black

Lips/ some kind of peachy lip balm

I'm clearly very laid back. Even "doing" my hair is really no more than a blow-out and some skinny serum.
