Default I Hit Big Girl Clothing Jackpot!

Let me say to begin with I have got really revamped my closet which is really starting to need it for over a year. I work in an office and looking presentable is difficult for us bigger girls. Doing so within budget. HA HA HA Forget about it!! I do most of my shopping online on WomanWithIn and I am sure most of you know how those prices run. But the biggest reason I have not revamped my closet was because I did not want to spend a lot of money on clothes when I want to determinely start loosing weight.

I went to my local Goodwill looking for my daughter dresses ( because I am cheap *lol* and at 3 she just grows out of her clothes to fast KWIM). I decided to look in the plus section for a lil S&G. I saw this shirt and was like wow I love that. Thinking there is no way it is my size. BLINK BLINK ... wait Double TAKE ... ITS MY SIZE!! OMG OMG OMG.... I so wanted to do this in the middle of Goodwill *LOL* I looked through the whole wrack and picked up a whole new wardrobe ( mostly Maggie Barnes tops because the person who donated must have been petite Oh well my pants were not really the issue it was the tops)

When all was said and done. I spent what I would have for an outfit or 2 online and got a new wardrobe! Although this has not discouraged my wanting to lose weight. After reading several others comments about loosing and how it took 30-50lbs before they dropped a size. I think that even if I try really hard that will atleast be 3 months down the road. Although I have decided to let myself go frump on top and get tighter pants, because lets face it I am a big girl and there are a lot of sizes between where I am and my goal. So I will have to see how loose is to loose for tops and go from there ( Can not wait to get in trouble for raiding my moms closet again Bwahahaha). And when that happens I know someone who is my size although trying to loose as well. If she is still the same size I will gift the clothing to her. Or gift it to Goodwill because I know there are other plus size women in our community who will do same as I did.

Which its another reason I want to lose weight other then to try and live healthier ( and the uncomfortable computer chairs from **** that are determined to torture my poor thighs ) I want to be able to shop at Goodwill. Seriously it may sound crazy, but I have a friend who shops there and always is finding the cutest business attire. It would be like an easter hunt year round. So Exciting!!

hey qtkitty!! you can do it.

honestly, you can make clothes work for many many many sizes.

honestly, i am currently about a large size 8, but i still own clothes from when i was a 14-16. i find that dresses fit better for a long time, but there becomes a point where they just start looking like a bag on you. whereas pants/bottoms- most of my tops are still in the lg-xl category, and i just cynch them in , or wear them with a fitted blazer, i have JUST got to the point where (my size 8 butt) looks absolutely rediculous in size 14s. like, i didn't even bother buying pants in in 12s, although i did pick up a 10 here or there.

dont worry about the closet!!! you can do it!!

Wow that's awesome, I love it when I score a good deal!

It took me about 25 lbs before I had to drop a size.

I have also noticed while I *can* wear larger tops with sized-down pants, that I look a LOT smaller when I size down my tops too. I remember being in Ross once last month wearing a 3X top into the dressing room, and then I tried on an XL top that fit nicely and I looked like a different person. I was running around with my 4X winter coat on earlier in the season, then I got an XL coat for really cheap that I've been wearing lately. Suddenly family members are all "I can't believe you are so small now!"

I wouldn't go nuts or anything on new stuff for sure, but I do like to get a few tops here and there at the discount stores because it makes me feel better when I actually look my weight and my clothes aren't hanging down.

That's great that you are restarting now, stay strong through the holidays!

I did all my shopping at Goodwill , Salvation Army and Savers while I was losing and made some great buys, oftentimes you can get brand new clothing. The secret is to check it out on a regular basis as clothes go fast.

It's so great to feel good! Congrats on getting awesome clothes!!

Goodwill or any thrift store is a good place to go for cheap clothes during your transition period. Although I STILL go because I don't like to spend a lot of money on clothes.

Yes this! I still have some things from Torrid that I wear even though I'm sometimes a size 2! Those open sweaters can really work through many sizes so I still wear mine.

For a while I was wearing some of my size 14 skinny jeans because for a time when I was an 8 or 10 they fit like "regular" jeans. Now I can't wear much of my old clothes, but it was great to be able to wear some of that stuff on the way down

Since my work pants are a little *cough* snug at the moment.. I think it will be a while til they are loose. When they do get to that point I plan on taking darts in the back since all of my shirts are of the tunic variety to hide the belly.

The shirts I do not know. I do not know why but it seems like for plus size they put the patern in a photo copier and enlarge the whole thing ( except length) so the neck lines get so big. Some of the shirts I have have seams in the back .. wonder if I could some how tack them in a little. Hmmmmm

Go to IGIGI.COM. This is the first time I have ever felt like gaining weight just to fit into clothing, it is really really beautiful.
