Well, I've lost over 40 lbs. and let me tell ya, my boobs haven't gone down in cup size at all. I'm still a DD just like I was at 203. I'm getting a little nervous actually. I don't want to get to 135 and have DD's and look like an idiot. I already talked to my husband and if they don't shrink at least some by the time I reach goal I'm getting a reduction *whispers* which also means a lift! That's just a perk. They got a little droopy from being overweight! I want them pointing ahead, not south!

I wasn't meaning to say you do! I'm just scared they'll look OVERLY huge and people will make rude comments and I'll get negative attention from it. Big boobs just aren't for me, and unfortunately I have them.

I understand. No biggie. I chose my big boobs...bought and paid for! I was just being touchy thats all, i know that look isnt for everyone. *hug

http://www.lessbounce.com/acatalog/c...ports_Bra.html Have you tried the Freya sports bras? I've heard lots of good things and you can also see this blog where she's doing a bunch of reviews on sports bras in the larger cup sizes. FWIW, I've done the two bra thing (one sports bra+one underwire). Then I bought a good sports bra that has a underwire (and it doesn't even fit completely correctly, it's slightly too big in the band and at least a few cup sizes too small) and it's infinitely more comfortable than the two bra thing (the two bra thing would poke me or slide around etc). I think it's good in the meantime before you find something that works better but not a permanent solution. Also, Freya has some really highly rated swimwear. I have yet to try it but I've heard a lot of really great things about it on a lot of the other blogs linked on mine. I'll definitely make a review of my bikini top once it comes!!! I received a mail that it they're making it now so hopefully soon. :D |

Also, you can see a blog here about what it means to be a D/DD cup (they're in bras so not made for work). There's another thing with G cups too somewhere but I can't find it. But you can also see there's a pretty big difference between a D cup in a larger band size vs. one in a smaller band size. The myth that a D cup is HUGE is ridiculous, I'm sorry. BTW, I'm saying this as a J/JJ cup and, yeah, I'm large but it's not like a look like a porn star or something. I'm not sure what size I'll wear at my lowest weight (because my bras fit so badly back when I was slim!!!) but I can guarantee you it's going to be well over a DD cup. ;) Part of the reason that women think a DD/D cup is so huge is that most women are wearing bras that are WAY too small in the cups and too big in the band. So these "D/DD" cup women could really be a G, H or J cup. If I were to walk into victoria secrets today they'd probably put me in something like a 38DD, which would just kill my back and give me zero support when in reality I need something like a 30J/JJ-32HH/J (depending on brand). I'm not trying to pick on you specifically but this is obviously an issue that has affected me a lot in my life. ;) |
You are correct - here is how it works...
Lets start with a 32 DDD. The cup size is the same as the sister size, 34DD.. which is the same as the sister size 36 D... which is the same CUP size as a 38 C or a 40B. So, a 32DDD is pretty much the same cup size as a 40B. Of course, I couldn't fit in a 40 band, but the cup would fit! Since having my boobs 'done' I learned a LOT about bra sizing as it is very difficult to find a correct fitting bra. Plus implants fit very differently to natural boobage. The best way to size implants is to measure the largest (dome) part of the breast and go inch by cup size because implant tend to be a lot wider than natural. I am waffling now... but in all, I agree with the PP. My fake double (triple) Ds are probably very different than natural double Ds! |
Running: Thanks! This is the bra that I've been wearing for the past two years: http://shop.nordstrom.com/s/elomi-en...resultback=720 I really like the bra the boutique owner fit me for but still...the bounce. I did try wearing it with an exercise bra top...I have a plus size 2x danskin (so while tight across the chest, it's huge in the waist and short enough that it looks like a crop top since I'm 5'11, lol). I wore that over the bra and I still bounced. I'm going to read that blog, thank you! I haven't tried Freya at all...just Elomi, Panache Super Bra, and Fantasie. Oh, and I found the less bounce website last night but was hoping to an American site to order from but no one has it in stock.
I agree with the pps. When I was thin I know I didn't wear the correct size bra, even though I was fitted because the center of the bra didn't lie flat to my chest. I have to say that I have always been self conscious about my chest, so I can also relate to what pp has said. When I lose the weight and keep it off for a year or two, dh has said he would help me have reduction surgery if I want to have it. I have no idea if I will or not, but I can understand why someone would want to have surgery whether to increase or decrease. |
And laying flat on your chest isn't the sole determinant that a bra fits. (I got curious and tried on bras at Target. Both the 34DD and the 36DD sat dead flat on my chest in the center, even though there was nowhere near enough room in the cup for my breasts. I'm around a 32F/32FF.)
I think someone who's thinnish overall has a lot of options for dressing to show or hide the breasts. Or at least I know I can keep them mostly unnoticeable, and it's not as if I'm flat-chested. |

I lived in Panache bras for years, they're great. Although these days I don't really get on with underwiring any more, alas. I was a 32DD when I was slim, and hopefully I'll get back there, as it was hard enough getting shirts to fit back then. I think my torso is losing weight last, however.
For anyone wanting to increase their bust size, a friend of mine got really worried that something was wrong when she realised that one of her breasts was suddenly substantially larger than the other. Then they worked out it was because she'd started working at a pub, and she'd been pulling pints with her right hand only. Once she made sure to pull pints with both hands equally, her breasts evened out again - a size or so larger, I'd imagine. |
I went from a D to a C :(

Me too :( Before I started my weight loss journey I wanted smaller boobs, but now that they are going I'm missing my sexy "Elvira" look lol. I can't see to get the cleavage going anymore :( You can see the pics in my siggy, my boobs use to pop lol....but I'll take it cause the weight loss is so much better and I might just have to end up buying pushups :)

I used to HATTEEE my 38DD's. Especially when I was trying to work out and selfconcious about running. Couldn't find a sports bra that worked well enough for me at the time. But since losing weight I have gone down to a 36C, and they are not a perky as they used to be -.-. I miss my big boobs. On the bright side I can wear the cute bras that V.Secret sells =O.

I've lost 36 lbs now, roughly halfway to where I want to be (pre-kids). My band measurement is now a 34 and I'm still wearing my 36H's because I don't want to order anything. Cup still fits good. I'll say that my chest feels less bouncy when I jog and exercise, which makes it easier to exercise but I still feel like I'm on display. I wear the Elomi Sports bra with an addidas exercise bra top under my exercise shirts. I haven't bought the Panache sports bra yet because I'm waiting until I lose a little more weight and that hopefully the cup and band size will be smaller. |
