Default Apple shape?

So, I need help. This has been a problem for years, and I don't know what to do about it.

What do you gals with apple shapes do about pants fitting? I have a large upper body and stomach, and no hips or butt. If I buy pants that fit me snugly at my waist, I either can't sit down, or have the world's biggest muffin top - either way, I look dumb. If I buy pants that are not snug around my waist, they literally almost fall off (or do fall off) when I walk, because I have no butt or hips to hold them up.

GRRRRRRRRR!

Does anyone have any suggestions?!?!

Hopefully I won't have this problem forever!

Get pants tailored for you.
It is what my mother does, because she has an apple shape body. A tailor will make you pants that will be just for you. It is more expensive of course, but you only needs 2-3

I still have this problem, though it's not as extreme as it used to be. I tend to buy my jeans snug enough that they do create a little muffin top just to make sure that they don't do the whole saggy-diaper thing in the butt area. I also usually wear looser shirts or sweatshirts when I wear jeans. For slacks or nicer pants, I'd agree with chubbykins that tailoring can work well. And slacks can be a bit looser than jeans in the butt, anyways.

I'm trying to amp up my ultra-flat butt with my exercising, but I think that any progress I'm making is just in my head. I've heard of padded/push-up panties, though, that kind of work like a bra to give you a little more junk in the trunk. Not really sure about them, but maybe they could help?

All that being said, when I really want to look and feel my best, I just wear a skirt or a dress. So much easier to find a skirt or a dress that fits well than trying on fifty-nine pairs of pants.

Thanks, ladies! I kind of figured tailoring is the way to go. But I still feel like I will look awful in any pants. I think I will take your advice Nienna and just wear more skirts and dresses - it's about to be summer after all!

I really hope that someday this will change, and I will feel pretty in everything I wear.

Thanks again!

I like to wear the 'lowrise' pants that hit just below the waist. That way the waistband isn't cutting into my middle "especially if I bend over or sit" and I don't get the muffin top as much. Finding these can be a tad challenging but worth it for me.

I'm an apple with a little bit of a butt and I've always had luck with Style & Co jeans from Macy's. Might be worth a try!
