Default Right fit jeans have really changed...

Hey - Thought I'd start a thread on right fit jeans @ lane bryant and I guess other store as well...

I've been a pretty loyal consumer of these for the past 3 years, but as mentioned in a previous post tonight just fit into some old skinny jeans (banana republic urbans - a discontinued line... why do all the good things go away...)

Anyhow - they just redid the Right Fit line, and I was somehow compelled to buy the smallest size they sell in Lane Bryant in the new version of my "old" style as kind of a landmark thing. Like... "this is the last pair of jeans I buy here" Yay!

There are few issues:

First: I think they may actually be smaller than the BR jeans, so if you're trying on jeans at LB and they're making you feel fat... don't worry. That being said, the current BR stores are much more fat phobic than the BR of three years ago with their curvy-friendly urban jeans. Anyhow - I was by far the smallest person in LB, and I tried on the skinny leg 14A yellow jeans and could barely get into them, and was just like... there is no way they will sell any of these.

But Second, and MORE importantly: They are selling right fit for more at LB than they do at Fashion bug or other stores that sell the smaller sizes as well. I guess it really is true that plus sizes cost more. =(

And THIRD: The pockets are insanely, and I mean laughably, insanely small on the new right fit collection. Like... it's such a joke. They must be at least 1/3 if not 1/2 the size you would want on a moderately large ***, not to mention a plus size ***.

OMG... what is going on with right fit?!?!

I just thought I would put this out there, and see if anyone else agrees. I do have my old right fit jeans... in several sizes (a vintage collection!) and I do love them. But I was kind of surprised by how silly the whole new collection seemd.

Thoughts?

Default For sure

I completely agree! I was so excited to finally buy a pair of Levi denim shorts in a 24 and I noticed they are already a little loose, (yay, lol) and since I was at the mall I went into Lane Bryant to try on a pair of the Right Fits in a 22 to there to see if I might be close to a smaller size and couldn't get them past my knees! So I got a pair of 24's. BARELY got them over my hips and the thought of buttoning them was laughable. And seriously, I can take the size 24 Levi's off without having to unbutton them. Yeah. I wasn't a fan when they changed the sizing to singular numbers (a 26 being a 7 or a 28 being an 8) cause it was too confusing and I'm even less of a fan of the new changes. Oh and btw, the girl at the store was lucky I didn't throw the darn jeans at her...when I came out with the "24s" she asked how they worked for me. I told her they were too tight and her response? "Well, maybe you're just not a 24..." Uh-huh. And maybe you need a hanger wrapped around...oh. Excuse me. Anywho...I don't care for them.

Reading this post makes me want to go check them out. I can really shop at New York and Company now without hoping something may be big enough to fit but knowing something will. I decided not to go in plus sized stores so that I can erase the mindset of plus sized and move forward to my smaller fit self. So it will be amusing to see what LB has come with now for all the money they are charging.

Yay! I'm glad I have buddies in frustration.

Well... I just don't think the back pockets or new sizing should be making people feel bad at Lane Bryant... esp when you are paying more for the same product.

If you can fit into the smallest right fit jeans... you are able to fit into a size 12 at banana republic and probably a size 10 at old navy. And the pockets will not be tiny...

Food for thought (or thought for food if you're a Colbert Report fan)
