Does anyone else hate wide leg pants?

  • I would like to say this is a fun thread. I have been laughing hysterically. I would also like to know why the plus sized stores carry those big flowery printed shirts. ghastly!!! It's not a good look for plus sized women.
  • I didn't like wide legs in junior high & I don't like 'em now! I've seen some ladies who can pull it off but I look like a big rectangle, too!

Looking back to my skinny mama days in the eighties - leggings, skinny jeans. Oh, the good old days. Of course, that look wasn't for everyone. My curvier friends who wore the slim legged jeans looked like ice cream cones!

And those giant print plus sized shirts - whose idea was this?? Do they want to be able to see us from space?
  • Wow, I had completely forgotten stirrup pants. Blocked them out of my memory entirely. I had them in every color, fabric and pattern in my youth. Ick.
  • I'm still working on dressing my new body properly but I have figured out a few things for my rectangle shape.

    1. Boot cuts are just ok on me.
    2. Straight cut jeans look good on me.
    3. Skinny jeans are amazing if it's a mid-rise.
    4. I have yet to find a pair of trouser jeans in my price range (cheap) but am open to trying them with platforms.
    5. Leggings, jeggings (Jean-type leggings) are only acceptable with a skirt, dress or long tunic over them.
    6. Wide legs, flares are a no go. I need to create some curves.
  • No kidding on the big flower prints. I'd put one on and look like a sofa.

I've lived through two eras of stirrup pants. Enough!

And wide leg pants work great for me because they balance out my shoulders, which are currently the widest part of me. Kinda cancels out the linebacker look!
