Yesterday I was feeling all confident and good in general, because I had just reached a mini-goal the day before. Then I brought some shorts & sport bras into the fitting room at a sporting goods store... AAGH!!!!!! The lighting was horrible, a warehouse-type building w/huge fluorescent lights shining from the towering ceiling. Every roll and dimple exposed... I just wanted to cry! I ended up leaving the store empty-handed. The bras I chose were way too small, more proof that I got over-confident and still have a ways to go. Didn't have it in me to look for more bras and face that d@mn fitting room again!

Do not..DO NOT..become discouraged. You are doing beautifully. You will be at your goal in no time.

As for those lights, thank goodness they are ANYTHING but natural..and not even the brightest sunlight is THAT unforgiving. Those lights tend to highlight every indentation of anyones skin--and turn everyone the color of barf. I hate when I am at a hotel with those things used over the mirror! No one looks good under them!!!

Keep rockin' it. AND FIND A BETTER SPORTING GOODS STORE!

Haha yeah...the lighting sucks in those places. Sometimes I look dead with those kind of lights. I'm very pale...

I'm like a ninja, I go in and out as quietly and as quickly as I can paying little attention to the mirror image as much as possible. I'm focused on the fit of the clothing and then when I get home I take a closer look and prance about all happy I can like wear nice things. haha.

I'm so sorry!! I hate fitting rooms. I'm never comfortable going into them, having the waiting attendant eye me. Nothing ever fits right either. Don't give up tho'!!! You can do this.

I'm glad to know it's not just me with fitting room issues. Clothing stores should try to have the most flattering lights possible, if they want us to buy their stuff. Thanks for listening. Now if I can only find a sports bra with so much support!

I've decided to go back to this little boutique-y bra shop where I bought Wacoal's before... they are so helpful that sometimes they join you in the fitting room to make sure it's a good fit. Normally I'd be mortified, but they're all older auntie types who know their stuff and have seen it all!

I went through this a while ago (about a month) and I havent bought anything since..I hate the fitting rooms...It makes me want to stop working outt...SO what I do is..I avoid mirrors and scales! Once a week or every 2 weeks I will look at my body and I can see changes so then I feel better...

As far as sizing...I get the same size I always get and if It is too big then I feel better. When things are too small I feel terrible...So get the size you usually wear instead and if it is loose then you will feel better. Too small makes us feel like failures...

Thanks I'll do this from now on. Guess I thought I'm smaller now, so why bother getting a size I know would fit or be too big. My ego definitely needs a lift, so maybe I'll go someplace & try on my old size(s)

don't become discouraged! i think we all have those blues...
i was doing back to school shopping, and i dreaded it.
it usually goes like this:
half the things i try on don't fit!
today, my sister bought me a beatle's shirt, so i was uber excited! when she showed it to me, i was like, "dang, that's small"
but as i was bummed, i decided to make it my first mini-goal,
to fit into that shirt by the end of september!!
