JerseyGyrl - thanks!
|
I have Body Shop's new mineral makeup.
I find that because I have dry skin, I must exfoliate like crazy and use a lot of moisturizer in order to avoid "flaky" skin. I much prefer Clinique's liquid foundation (or any liquid foundation, really, from Make Up For Ever to Estee Lauder etc). I may use it again later in the summer when my skin tends to be more hydrated. |

I exfoliate daily, apply my moisturizer, allow it to be absorbed into my skin (at least 30 mins) and then apply the minerals. As I've said, I use SMM (Smoky Mountain Minerals) and there is no "buffing". |
Is the buffing the round movements I make with the brush? Because yes, I have to do that with this brand.
How is SMM applied? |
I use the Loreal Bare Naturale and I like it much better than liquid- hardly takes any time to apply and gives a nice even skin tone. I have slightly oily skin, pretty pale (I use the lightest shade). I've never tried the more expensive kinds though- just liked this one and stuck to it!

For how SMM is applied, you may want to have a look here: http://www.smokymountainminerals.com...ge/3771496.htm |
I would go with mac... it is about $27 but it is worth it also make sure that you have a deep conditioner for your face and a sheer liquid underneath your eyes down nose and at the crescent of your chin... if that brings out the natural tones in your face why wear make up.. I would swear on 23 also. =]

or multi-tasking bisque concealer -http://www.smokymountainminerals.com/catalog/item/3682615/3689262.htm Mineral make-up applied correctly gives you a very natural look:) |
Holy bejuicies, I just noticed how much weight you've lost! WOW!
|
I used to use Physician's Formula (Walgreens usually has a buy one get one free/half off) but now I use Bare Minerals. I use a tinted moisterizer before using the powder and it helps.
|
I just went out and bought the foundation and the mineral veil from Bare Essentials. I didn't buy the kit because I have tons of makeup brushes at home and really good skin moisturizers including a great silicone-based one that acts like a barrier cream, and because I didn't want the DVD.
My ONLY question is this -- what brush do I use to apply the foundation? I understand and watched a few youtube videos on the buffing in idea, but is this a stiff brush? or like a large powder brush? Thanks Kira |

Thanks SO much!!!

My skin is UBER sensitive. I've tried Victoria Jackson's, Clinique, L'Oreal, you name it (expensive, I've tried it), and it always causes redness and irritation. I started Bare Essentials about 2 months ago and I'm totally in love. You'll have to pry it out of my cold, dead hands. LOL
