Default Don't I have rights too!

Hi - I konw I am short and fat but don't I have the right to wear snow pants when it is sooo cold outside. I don't think it has been above 10 degree (with or without wind chill) and usually lower then that since the month has started and I want a pair of snow pants. Do I really have to buy mens' to own a pair?? I've been searching on-line most of the day and I am getting frustrated - please help!! Does anyone own a pair of womens' petite or regular size snowpants that they have purchased recently and could recomend? DM

I TOTALLY agree..when i was much larger the only pair I could find was an XL snowpants in the men's department at Walmart. I even remember them being a little snug :-(. Now thank GOD I can wear them and they are loose!

I also DESPISE how larger clothes is MUCH more expensive then regular clothes..Yes I agree it does have a little more material...but it's a bit too much if you ask me.

Well, it is -10 with 10 mile an hour winds (I don't know the wind chill formula) and I 'get' to go out and shovel again will probably 'get' another turn tomorrow. Years ago I did buy a pair of mens snow pants but the extra length on them made it kind of dangerous, the extra would get under my boots and make it very slippery. I know think warm thoughts and go out and get it over with for today. DM

If you cannot find snow pants, would consider a pair of microfibre long johns? They are great. I am always cold and I often wear them at home under my sweatpants. Last night, I was out shoveling for around 2 hours and my legs were not cold at all (I wore long johns + jeans).

Thanks for the web site. I did look at Nextag and will look some more but I have not seen any plus size snow pants, maybe I will see if they have any for short men. LOL

Shopaholic1204 Snow pants are also called ski pants (probably has other names too). It is insulated pants made of waterproof material that you can pull over your jeans, etc., to keep your pants dry and your legs warm while doing things out in the cold. DM

Have you been to a sporting goods store? Last year when I went to Antartica, I went to a couple sporting good stores and found pants, size XL (even XXL). Sizes and fits did vary but there were some options.

What is it with the lack of snow pants for adults!?!

One thing I found worked as a decent substitute, was a pair of rain pants worn over some extra long undies or fleece pants. It's not as convenient as plain old snow pants, but it worked.

I wish I had some snow pants today! Lots of snow falling today in Montreal!

I bought Guide Series snow pants from Gander Mountain, and they are an XL but fit me as a size 18. I also tried on some 1X snow pants there. I actually think they were Columbia because I bought a 1X winter jacket from Col. while I was there too.

as a really last resort, you can do what we did for my son this past year when we only had a day or two in an area with snow. We bought sweatpants that we large enough to go over his existing pants and sprayed them with scotchgard. The scotchgard made them pretty waterproof and the sweats kept him warm

Try www.beautifulskier.com I got one of their ski bibs from TJMax and I love them. I find them kind of short I am 5'8.5" so perfect for skiing/snowboarding.
