Bra Help!!

  • Ok So...My boobs are not the perkiest in the whole world anymore. More like
deflated and hangy. I need help!! I am trying to figure the best kind of bra to get to put them back in their place!! Any suggestions? I think I am at a 38 D..
    not sure anymore....
  • If you're willing to spend a little bit extra, the Victoria's Secret IPEX is a very good support and rounding bra. Make sure you try it on; some of their lines run a little small, and I've found I can't even wear most of them anymore.

Hopefully, once I lose some weight, I'll be back down to a D and rocking my favorite rhinestone-accented VS bra again lol
  • Head to Victoria Secret, they have ladies to fit you and find the operfect bra for your Ta Ta's
  • Thanks I will def look in to those IPEX bras! /Been awhile since I have gone
    to victorias secret!!
  • VS bras suck!!! I've bought tons of them, they always run small, and the wire almost always pops out! ...I personally think they are horrible quality. Most aren't even cute, in my opinion. Try Lane Bryant. Their balconnete bra is awesome! Great support, never had a wire pop out...reasonably priced...and they have some really cute styles!
  • Wherever you end up purchasing bras, I recommend having someone fit you first, so you know exactly what size you are. I generally go to Lane Bryant if I'm looking for something pretty and Lady Grace if I want something that'll put the girls back where they belong!

If you do not have a store like Lady Grace in your area, where all the salespeople are trained in fitting (and probably have years of experience, as they're all a bit older), larger department stores usually have trained fitters in their lingerie departments. I know Macy's and JCPenney's do.

    Good luck finding a bra!
  • Get fitted. Absolutely. You can't *think* that you are wearing the right size, and expect the girls to stand at attention.

Get fitted, and I don't recommend Victoria's Secret-especially for anyone who wears larger than a C cup. Their bras are made to look "sexy", not for support. They are fine for a 36B or C...but when you get to D and larger, they aren't good enough.

Go to a GOOD bra store, get fitted properly, and buy good name bras: Bali, Playtex, Olga, etc. I get fitted at the Hanes/Playtex/Bali outlet store...and buy all of my bras there.
  • I'll 3rd or 4th or whatever the advice to get properly fitted. If there's a Nordstrom near where you live, they will do bra fittings for free and there's no obligation to buy from them, either.

It makes SUCH a huge difference to have a bra that really fits!!!

(And the people at VS are not trained in how to properly fit a bra - I think they have cute bras but they're staffed by mostly part-timers)

  • I second Lane Bryant, I had great luck there before my weight loss. Otherwise a good department store...I just had to break down last week and buy a few new ones and went to Yonkers. Just know too that different lines run different. I personally like Bali a lot.
  • Lane Bryant! I wait until they have a bra sale and stock up!
  • OK, so I am not a lingerie person. Add to that the fact that I am currently weaning my third child and losing weight so I am changing sizes so fast that I feel like I need new bras every month or so. I was about at my wits end because everything was saggy and all the bras I bought did not support me and they made me look like my grandmother...on a bad day. Even after being fitted at Nordstrom, nothing was making me happy.

So, I went into a cheap department store -- knowing I am currently a 38D. I just started trying on bras. I figured these were throw aways anyway because I am going to lose another cup size here in a month or two. Anyway, I was looking for regular bras and workout bras, and I tried on a Lillyette "In Motion" with an underwire in it. They are made out of some kind of funky material that is a little reminiscent of foam rubber so they turned me off initially, but then I put the thing on. It fit absolutely perfectly. Both of my saggy friends were put right back where they belong and the thing is SOOO comfortable.

Now this is definitely not a "hot date" kind if bra as it covers ALOT of you, but under clothes who cares? Also, they have Lillyette's "no fat roll" technology in the back so you don't get those nasty rolls on each side of the strap. I love these things. I have bought a bunch of them to wear both for work outs and just for everyday. My husband commented on how good I looked in one of them the other day when we were getting dressed. He never says anything about my bras. It was kind of funny that he found my sports bra sexy.

Anyway, that is my two cents worth.
  • This one, Schu? http://www.kohls.com/kohlsStore/inti...ports+Bra.jsp#
  • I looked up my bra and found out it is not just called the Lillyette In Motion. It is the Lillyette In Motion Gentle Motion with Underwire. The above link is not the one I was talking about (Although I do own one of those and like it for serious exercise). The Gentle Motion one, however, I like for everyday wear.
