Default My jeans are playing tricks with me.

Ok first of all let me tell you that the jeans mentioned below are from the same shop, and they are of the same style. This is what astonishes me.

Ok I have 3 pair of jeans. Two of them are the same size and the third is a size smaller. Anyways since I lost some weight since I have started, and I was putting my pair of jeans in the wash I decided to check my smaller size pair to see if it started to fit, since the pair of jeans I was wearing that moment has started to form a gap where the tummy and butt is. And wow, though before it would not go past my hips, it now went up, buttoned and zipped (ok the last 2 parts were with much effort but still, this could not go beyond my hips).

I feel a wave of euphoria, congratulate myself, thank the academy for giving me the Oscar, etc and then take my other pair of jeans (whose twin has started gapping) and oh the horror, it wouldn't button up and zip. At all.

I know jeans get tight in the wash but this is simply ridiculous.

Out of curiosity, are they stretch jeans? Because if so, I've had the same issue. Some of them literally will just stretch differently, same make, same style.

ETA

MUCH more importantly - CONGRATULATIONS on fitting into the next smallest size!!

Yes they are stretch jeans, with an elastic band at the waist as I have a flat behind. T_T. But weirdly the big pair of jeans that would not fit today, fitted very well last week before the wash.

I am so happy for the small size fitting (with much effort). My next goal is to wear it and be able to breathe normally in it. ^.^

I tend to let a lot of my jeans air dry, because the dryer does tend to shrink, discolor, all sorts of things. I don't know if that would work for stretch jeans. Probably depends on how much stretch material is manufactured in with them.

Yeah - I don't know what it is, but sometimes the stretch elastic just does weird things, even if it's the same style, same brand, etc. Like I said - I wouldn't be too weird. You are obviously losing inches and weight, and soon enough you'll be able to throw both of the bigger pairs out the window. lol.

Actually you got a point. When I was in Cyprus we had all of our clothes back home air dry since with Cyprus' scorching sun they can dry really quickly and I don't recall having a problem as much. Unfortunately I do need the drier now as my apartment has no space to have my clothes air dry, nor do I have a yard to let them dry outside or something.

I wear mostly jeans with stretch denim, and I always lay my jeans flat on a large towel to dry. They seem to keep their shape much better. Also, wash them in cold water.
