Default Tall pants....but not that tall?

Hi, I am 5'6" but I carry my height in my legs. It is so hard to find sweatpants and yoga pants that fit.
Where can you get sweat pants that are sized with inseam sizes instead of S, M, and L, XL or 4/6 8/10 etc.
If I go to Tall sizes, like 8 Tall, they usually are a 34 inseam. Too tall!

I am a size 8 usually. depends on the style actually.
5'6" and 127 with inseam 32 non-shrinking!!
That's important! I've bought pants that fit great until I washed them!

Hmmm....

You and I have the OPPOSITE problem. I am taller than you, about 5'7"-but I have a longer torso and shorter legs. I end up with my pants dragging the ground in the back, unless I am wearing a shoe/boot that has heels.

I find that "regular" pants are too long in many cases, but petite pants are just a tad too short.

My advice would be to A) Buy tall pants, and have a seamstress hem them AFTER washing, so you know that they won't shrink up B) Do an online search of jeans and check their fitting. I will see what I can find as far as a check for a 32 inseam.

jeans are pretty easy for me to find, it's the pants, like sweat pants and yoga pants that are hard. They change the way they measure it from inseam size, to 8, 10, or 12.
An 8 fits me, except it's too short, a 10 is too big, but it is the right length!
I really hate altering them!
Seamstress? What are those? We do our own here.......reluctantly.
Also, I really like the sport/sweat pants that are cottton and have the stripe down the side, and they are very hard to find!

I agree with aphil, and at 5'10" I've had a lot of experience with this. I have a 33" inseam, which means most pants will work from "tall sections". However, to buy a suit for work I have to go to the Tall Girl store, since that is the only place that has sleeves on the jackets that are the right length. So the jackets fit fine and then I have to hem the pants or I can't even see my feet! It can be a bit annoying, but it's worth it to have clothing that looks nice and fits well.

Of course it's all a great struggle for my 6' tall younger sister! I consider myself lucky that I get to have long legs and still have a reasonable selection of pants, even if I do have to hem them. Because I can always hem them, but she can't ever add more fabric to make them long enough.

The only place I can think of off the top of my head is JC Penney. I ordered yoga pants from them a few years ago and after I washed them they were a bit too short for me... which might be perfect for you. I remember a lot of their "tall inseams" being a little more on the short side (well, for a "tall' inseam.)
