Pardon me in advance I did not know where to put this topic.
Ok as some of ya'll know at the end of July I will be starting my outside exercises. And the other day I was looking at sports bra and did not know how to choose one. There were so many to choose from. I saw the basic pull over type ones, ones that snap in the back, ones that were for low impact, ones for high impact, some with breathable holes in the cleavage area, some without, etc. How do you know which ones to get? Any advice.
Dear Need2loseinGA-Good question about the bra. When I see women exercising and "they" are bouncing up and down all I can think about is the damage she is doing to her breast tissue. You didn't say what your bra size is, so I can only give you my experience. I am a 38DD so I invest in really good sports bras at Nordstroms or sporting good stores. I buy the ones that you buy according to your bra size, not S,M,L, or XL. When I am wearing one I look almost flat in a t-shirt. When I am running they aren't moving at all. You may have to try a bunch on, but go for great support.
Well I wear somewhere around a 34A (I need to get fitted for a good bra one day). We don't have any sport stores or anything like that around here. We have a Wal-Mart and a K-Mart here and thats it (rural area). All the ones I looked at go by band size not s,m,l,xl etc. Its mainly all the different styles that throw me off. I guess because I am small busted I need a tradtional halter top style.
Just go for something that smushes your breasts to your body. Doesn't matter so much what the strap configuration (halter or straight--though straight is probably more supportive) is. If you're looking at things that pull over your head and don't have fasteners, the bra should be hard to get on and feel somewhat tight around your ribcage.
Hi This was HUGE issue for e when I started running at the beginning of June!
I would love to buy an Enell, but at over $90CDN, I'll wait until I know I can buy it in a size that will still fit me at goal, not as I am losing. In the end, I bought a Glamorise Sport from JC Penney online - it's fantastic. Took some 'getting into' but ain't nothin' movin' once I am in!! It was on sale, too, and only about $25USD. I'd definitely buy this brand again.
The last one I bought was from Nordstrom.com on sale. I did buy an inexpensive sports bra and found that I wasn't getting enough support, so I wore a smaller sports bra over that one (one that I had outgrown) and even though it felt tight, I had no bounce at all.
these are definitely LOW IMPACT sports bras, i'm not a runner and wouldnt wear this for that, but so comfy and light for my elliptical/pilates/stair climbing/weight training (also keep in mind that i am a b cup). gap body also has some medium and high impact sports bras. i absolutely cannot work out in an uncomfy or too tight sports bra.
I have to reccomend the one I wear, I love love love it. It's shock absorber's medium impact sports bra. I'm a b cup and wear it for running, and NOTHING moves. I bought mine at Victoria's Secret but you can find them online as well. I've bought other ones, even from my running store, and still bounce. I can never get the s,m,l,xl ones to fit right. I would definitely reccomend putting in some extra effort (wether that means traveling or buying online and returning if necessary) to get a really good one!
I love my Enell. It was NOT cheap, but it's been worth every penny. I was so sick of exercising in fear of my girls popping up and knocking me out! :P Now I'm comfortable, supported, and my shoulders and back are much happier when I exercise.
I know that I'll shrink out of my Enell in time, but it was really worth the money to get me exercising again. Once I'm at goal, I'll buy another Enell in a smaller size. As much as I love the Enell, it is NOT a "pretty" bra - it is ALL function, NO good looks!!
