jemmama's intro
Hi Ladies,
I'm new here - so happy I found you! I've been dieting for 1 year, have lost about 40 pounds, hope to lose just a few more. I've done it by counting calories, writing down everything I eat, and after the first 20 pounds or so, exercise (walking and Nordic Trak).
In the past couple of months, I discovered for myself the awful truth about maintaining - that I will have to continue my "diet" forever, just to stay where I am. I think I went through the various stages of grief, and have now come around to acceptance! I'd rather eat 1400 calories/day for the rest of my life, if that's what it takes, than gain that weight back!
Thanks to all of you for being here - your experience is so valuable!
