  • I'm glad you're still with us Meg! I didn't know anthing about orthopaedic surgery until I worked for a private medical insurer. We look after a lot of sports people, and now I can quite confidently chat away about sub acrominal decompressions, cruciate ligament reconstructions, and interveterbral disc replacements, it was all Greek to me!!!

I think I got the hang of it too quickly, coz now I am only one of three advisors on a specialist orthopaedic team!!!

There but for the grace of.... I have never had anything orthopaedic done, ouch! Hope the drugs keep doing their thing for you, you must be going crazier than you are already staying out of the gym!
  • Hi Meg,

Glad to see you around, even if it is because yuo cannot sleep from pain. I really hope this will get less. Your injury really really sounds bad, and I am surprised that it was possible to work through the pain.

I am resorting to lefthandedness also because of a tennis elbow & hurting R shoulder. Due to RSI. My doctor gave me some excercises but apparently there is some stuff in the shoulder joint. The shoulder creaks when I move, I always thought that was usual & harmless, but apparently not so.

Please take good care of yourself Meg,

    Rabbit
(PS Silverbirch, you were right about the question AND the feeling in the college room. I was usually the only woman present, and I know that sinking feeling when yuo ask a question very well.)
  • Meg - Ouch, I know being on the DL is frustrating (was there last year after very minor surgury),I hope you'll be able to sleep better soon.

    Get well soon!
