Anne posted this last night in our chat thread, but I'm giving it its own special thread so it doesn't get lost:

Hiya maintainers,
Just a quick note to let you all know my daughter was born on Saturday, 9/24. She is very healthy and beautiful. I'll check back in a week or so with more--I had a c-section and am recovering nicely, but just so much to do right now. Escpecially sleep when I can.
Anne
Congratulations, Anne!
Rest and enjoy your sweet little daughter, and when you're feeling up to it, be sure to come back and tell us everything!
Oh Anne how wonderful! Take care of your little bundle and enjoy the moments with her...
Best advice, sleep when the baby sleeps or you'll get tired and overwhelmed, happened to me first time around. Second, was a charm because I slept and left the housework for later, much later, maybe 3 months! But who cares I eventually got to the work.
Anne,
Congratulations! Enjoy your time with the baby - remember there is only one time in your life when you have 1 baby to care for - if you will ever have another, you will care for 2 kids at once This is the best time for you and her!
Also, make sure NOT to pick up heavy things after your c-section - just wait a little bit before heavy lifting And sleep as mucha s you can - make this hubby of your care for little bandle of joy while you can sleep!
Oh Anne, CONGRATULATIONS!!! How wonderful and exciting! And I bet you are soooo relieved it's finally over with and you can hold your precious little girl in your arms rather than having her kick you in the ribs! Rest and be well, and update (with pics?!?!) when ever you can.
Hi Anne & DD:
Congratulation and best wishes.
Hope you are feeling okay. Remember to take care of yourself. You had major surgery. Enjoy that new baby smell, that's my favorite smell in the whole world.
My new daughter, Sophie, was born Sept 24, 2005 at 10:45 in the morning. She was 19 in long and 6 lb 11 oz. We made it to 38+ weeks, and she was very healthy after all that worrying. She was a breech baby, so that meant a c-section for me, but I'm recovering nicely. DH has been particularly wonderful this last week.
Thanks to everyone for all your best wishes--it means so much to me. And finally, here is a pic of the two of us--I think this was Monday morning.
She is just to cute, what a lovely little girl. I had 2 daughters and I just loved raising them. Those were just the best years of my life. I would be very willing to go back and do it all again if I had the chance.
I hope she's a good baby and will be sleeping through the nights soon.
